It isn't known at which point in this process Adriatica and Julio were divorced, but at the time Homer Simpson roomed with Grady and Julio, the relationship was long past. Adriatica was mentioned in a conversation while Homer was living in Grady's and Julio's apartment.[1]

Adriatica is a news reporter; she was seen covering the Springfield primary election. She is also a member of the Democratic party.[2]

Adriatica was on Head Butt along with Nash Castor. In the break, she made out with Castor. After Homer shouted at Castor, Adriatica told Castor that she wanted a rich husband.[3]

Behind the Laughter

Adriatica Vel Johnson is a parody of Greek-American political commentator Arianna Huffington. Her last name came from actor Reginald VelJohnson best known from TV sitcom Family Matters and the Die Hard movies. Her ex-husband being Julio is a reference to Adrianna Huffington's ex-husband and former Republican congressman Michael Huffington publicly disclosing his bisexuality after their divorce.[4]
