Springfieldopolis is a Bart Simpson's Treehouse of Horror story featured in The Simpsons' Treehouse of Horror #21.

Synopsis

"Visit the "metropolitan" world of Fritz Lang (Simpsons-style), when the idle rich championed by Mr. Burns clash with the working poor led by Marge Simpson."


Plot

It's a new day in the Springfieldopolis and Mr. Burns monitors his nuclear power plant. It is the shift change and Homer has been stationed in the exclusive gardens where he repair a fountain. Marge is there with the children in Springfieldopolis for she wanted to show them a cheerier environment. The visitor in the gardens do not like it and tell it to Mr. Burns as degrades him to take care of the power plant clock. Homer takes a break and let Gil taking over, he finds a cavern where he want to rest. He discovers that Marge is in the cavern and talk with several of the employees and complain that they are exploited. Marge asking the employee to think about their eighty-hour workweek when they going home. Waylon Smithers overhears it and tells it to Burns. They realize that Marge has a power over changing people, and they kidnap Marge and Professor Frink makes a robot version of her. Burns tells Robot Marge that there is nothing wrong with eighty-hour workweek. Robot Marge starting to visit the power plant and makes the employees happy again but the productivity is down for they have fun instead of working. Homer missing Marge for she has no time with the family anymore. After a while is starting to flood in Springfieldopolis because the employees are not working. They become mad on Robot Marge. Homer and the kids driving through the city's water and finding the real Marge who are locked at Frink and she tell them that it is a robot copy of her has taken her place. Maggie creeping under the door and manage to capture the key so she can come out. Homer dives into the water and open the plumb so the water can recede. The workers are planing to burn Robot Marge, they discover then that she was a robot and the real Marge comes to confront Burns about what he's done. The workers planing then to take a revenge at Burns but Marge tell them that violence solves nothing. Marge robot has transformed to a terminator and relegates the inhabitants. Robots taking over the power plant and the inhabitants are moved to a tent camp several miles from Springfieldopolis. Marge undestand at the robot don't need them and they think people are unnecessary. Smithers telling the inhabitants at Burns made that city and has a plan to find another small town with corrupt leadership and ignorant voters. Marge telling him not to do it.
