Country status

• Technically, the Falkland Islands aren't a country, but an archipelago (group of islands) located to the east of South America. Josegiraffio 10:08, 27 December 2011 (EST)

There are many things that don't really count as countries on our template, but I think we risk over complicating things by categorizing everything specifically. As well as countries there are:

• Continents:
  • Antarctica)
• British Overseas Territories:
  • Bermuda
  • Cayman Islands
  • Falkland Islands
• Autonomous communities of Spain:
  • Canary Islands
• Partly recognized, non-UN member/observer, countries:
  • Kosovo (recognized by 86 states)
  • Palestine (recognized by 128 states)
• French Polynesian (and in turn French) islands:
  • Tahiti
• Autonomous regions of the People's Republic of China:
  • Tibet
• To a lesser extent, constituent countries:
  • Aruba, The Netherlands (Kingdom of the Netherlands)
  • England, Scotland (United Kingdom)
• And of course the fictional lands of:
  • Bartovia
  • Patagonia
  • Togonia

So, I think we need to consider how specific we want to make things before doing any changes.
