Plot

At Lenny's house, Homer and they guys are playing poker. Moe calls Homer slow when he doesn't realize he had a good hand. He decides to go to a class, but when he gets there, he sees all of his friends teaching a class, he wants to teach one too. He starts a class called "Secrets of a Successful Marriage" where he explains how to live a perfect marriage, but he doesn't know what to say. He then decides to tell stories of Marge and his love life. When Marge finds out, she makes Homer promise he won't do it again. However, when his students get bored of his class, he tells more secrets and invites them to dinner to see what a successful marriage is like. Marge gets angrier and throws them all out, including Homer. Homer can't come back in the house and he lives in the treehouse. He starts to go mad by making a fake Marge out of a plant. He then comes back to her, telling her what he can give her that no one else can, complete and total dependence. Marge forgives him and he goes back home.

Quotes

  • Homer: "Okay, the first thing they told me to do was to make sure everyone's in the right class."

{Someone spits tobacco at him}

Homer: "Down the hall. Room 12."

  • Lisa: {visiting Homer in the treehouse} Here, Dad. I brought you some nice ... aah!

{Homer has modeled a plant to match Marge's large 'beehive' hairstyle and a paper plate stuck to it.}

Homer: Good news, Lisa. I don't need your mother anymore. I've created a replacement that's superior to her in almost every way.

Lisa: Dad, that's just a plant.

Homer: Lisa! You will respect your new mother. Now, give her a kiss! KIIIIISS HER!

{Homer thrusts the plant in Lisa's face and accidentally drops it out of the treehouse, where it breaks on the ground below.}

Homer: Oh my God, Oh my God, Oh my God! Okay, let's get our story set. She tripped, right?
