Willy Gilligan is a character played by Bob Denver on the TV show Gilligan's Island.

History

After being replaced in The Be Sharps, Chief Wiggum was watching The Tonight Show when Johnny Carson, characterized as Carnac the Magnificent, named three Castaways: Gilligan, the Skipper, and Chief Wiggum. Angered, he shot at the television.[1]

When Homer became a Naval Reserve, he took Marge to see Bob Denver on a Naval Reserve tour. He told the audience that when people came up to him and said, "Hey, Little Buddy," then hit him over the head with a hat, it wasn't funny as it hurt. When the audience started laughing, Denver told them to stop. Homer then said that he was going to get Gilligan's autograph, then "whomp" him with his hat.[2]
