Mario wants his picture taken with Homer who then proceeds to throw bins at him (in a reference to the original Donkey Kong game). Mario then climbs up the treehouse, gets a hammer and begins to destroy the bins before he is finally hit and falls down. 21 449 "Oh Brother, Where Bart Thou?" Mario, along with his brother Luigi, were two of the brothers Bart saw in Bro-Land during Bart's dream. 23 505 "A Totally Fun Thing Bart Will Never Do Again" "Human Super-Mario Brothers" is seen on the Fun Schedule. 25 551 "Pay Pal" The title screen gag for the episode has Mario jumping up and hitting a block, getting a coin from it. 552 "The Yellow Badge of Cowardge" Homer calls Giuseppe Granfinali "Super Mario", in reference to the man being Italian.. 32 688 "Treehouse of Horror XXXI" One of the many Mr. Burns dopplegangers seen in "Into the Homerverse" is based on Bowser. 34 739 "Top Goon" At Halloween, Barney dresses up as Wario. 35 754 "Thirst Trap: A Corporate Love Story" Mr. Burns and Persephone Odair appear on the cover of Nintendo Power, with Burns parodying Mario and Persephone parodying Princess Peach. 762 "Lisa Gets an F1" Homer dreams of racing on Mario Kart's Rainbow Road track. Characters appear as parodies of Super Mario characters: Homer as Wario, **Lisa as Mario (saying his catchphrase, It's me, Lisa Mario), Sherri or Terri as Princess Peach, Nelson as Bowser, Ralph as Toad and Milhouse as Yoshi. A cloud is holding the stoplight, a reference to Lakitu. Lisa collects items from ? pyramids, referencing the item cubes from the games. Homer as Wario throws a blue shell at Milhouse and a bomb at Lisa while saying "It's a-me, Wario" and "Wah", repeating them in bed. Later in the house, Homer and Lisa reference the dream naming Wario, Rainbow Road and Mario Kart, with Homer asking her what's Mario Kart. Paolo and Bart argue similarly to the jibberish Mario and Luigi do in the games.

Simpsons Comics #130 Marge the Sellout When Luigi wins an auction for old video games, he exclaims "It's-a me!". His brother, Mario Risotto, then asked him to help fix a leak. Luigi told him to "hold your mushrooms". Simpsons Comics #231 Bart the Rake Luigi Risotto has a brother called Mario Risotto who is a parody of Mario.

Video games

Picture Game Reference The Simpsons Game Poorly drawn versions of Mario are seen in Enter the Cheatrix. Warp Pipes are seen throughout Enter the Cheatrix, including several of different colors. A puzzle must be solved using them to get to Donkey Kong. At the end of Enter the Cheatrix, a Koopa Troopa is seen and is Professor Frink's bride. The Simpsons: Tapped Out The quest name "It's A-Me, Luigi!" is a reference to Mario's catchphrase "It's A-Me, Mario!" In the Tap Ball and Soccer Cup 2015 update if two Tap Ball teams of identical players face off, there will be a joke about alternate versions of themselves. An alternate version of Luigi appears, called Waluigi, referencing the Mario character.
