Pokémon is an anime that Bart Simpson watched.

History

Bart watched an episode where Ash Ketchum told Pikachu that someone had the crystal light ball and Pikachu reacted enthusiastically to this. Bart then wonders how the show has managed to "stay so fresh", referencing the fact that the show had been on the air for 12 years (at the time of the episode's original airdate) and has been heavily criticized for having a formulaic episode structure. Ironically, the episode aired the same day of the release of Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver for Nintendo DS in the US.
