Uncle Herb is Homer's half brother. He is the child of Abe Simpson (Homer's father), and a prostitute. Homer discovered Herb, and found out that he was a rich car developer. He allowed Homer to develop a car, but it was so outrageously expensive that Herb was bankrupted. In a later episode, Herb comes back and regains his fortune by making a machine that can translate baby talk into English.
