History

When Herb Powell learned that his new car was called Persephone he asked what kind of name it was. The constructors told him that she was the Greek goddess of spring and rebirth and she was carried off to Hades, where she ate six pomegranate. Herb interrupted them and said people didn't want cars named after hungry old Greeks.[1]

The reason behind this decision is: .

After Hades decided to start dating forced Persephone to date him. Persephone did not like how Hades picked her up, but he persuaded her to teach him how to date, and they ate together and danced. After that, Persephone tried to leave Hades but failed and went to court, where Athena and forced her to live six months each year with Hades because she did not pay for the food. She was then ordained as a curse, which meant that when she was with Hades, then the whole Earth would be cold.[2]
