Dr. Smith is a fictional character from Lost in Space.

History

Marge had the same dream where she is the mother from Lost in Space where she ask Dr. Smith if she is ready for breakfast. Dr. Smith is playing by Homer that tell her at they has being stuck on this godforsaken planet has vanquished what little appetite I have. Lisa is the Robot B-9 and said then at Dr. Smith refuses to do his astrochores. Dr. Smith become angry at the robot and tell to it "why, you clattering clank of cogs" before he starting talk with his wife, about how she know, his back is a disaster area. The robot said then at their hook are flailing wildly.[1]

Dr. Smith and Robot B-9 were in a booth at the Bi-Mon-Sci-Fi-Con. Bart visited the booth, saw the "Meet Dr. Smith" sign, and said, "I saw that Lost in Space movie! You are not Dr. Smith." In response, Smith emoted "Oh, the pain, the pain ... the pain of it all!" Robot B-9 laughed and said, "You have still got it, Dr. Smith." Smith quickly shushed the robot: "Silence, you nickel-plated nitwit!" Smith then offered to meet up with Bart later in the food court to show him his résumé, and Robot B-9 warned Bart away by shouting out "Danger! Danger! Bart Simpson!" Bart heeded the robot's warning and quickly left.[2]

Behind the Laughter

  • The Smith actor's anguish is justifiable. He certainly resembles Dr. Smith as portrayed by Jonathan Harris in the Lost in Space television series. Bart, however, apparently having only seen the movie where Smith was played by Gary Oldman, accuses the actor of not being Smith, and the actor is upset that Bart hasn't even heard of the TV show.
