Christopher Walken is an American actor.

History

Walken appeared at a book convention in Springfield, where he was seen reading poetry to a group of children. Even though the poetry was from a children's book, Walken's rough and scary demeanor frightened and repelled the children, in spite of his attempts to reassure them and encourage them to come closer.

Behind the Laughter

• Jay Mohr provided the voice of the Christopher Walken character. Some sources suggest Christopher Walken originally agreed appear as himself. However, he then decided to demand a lot more money, than the producers were willing to pay. In the end credits, Jay Mohr is actually credited with the voice of Christopher Walken, the credit says "Jay Mohr as Christopher Walken". This is the first time this has ever been done.
• The poetry Walken reads is from Goodnight Moon, a real-life children's picture book.
• In his movie roles, Walken plays a lot of characters who are psychopathic or high-strung, as alluded to by his scaring the children in spite of his efforts to the contrary.
