Johnny Herelately is the host of the Duff Book of World Records television show.

History

He crashed through the wall of the hospital with a camera crew to record Ralph Wiggum, who had apparently broken the world record for "the most lima beans shoved up a nose". When the people of Springfield saw the show, they all started trying to break records as well. Johnny was less than impressed, however, stating that the records needed to "spark the world's imagination". Fat Tony} then arrived with a truckload of paddle balls, so the entire town began trying to break the world record for most paddle ball bounces.

Behind the Laughter

His surname is an obvious combination of the words "here lately", and is likely a joke on the fact that he just pops up out of nowhere.
