Nelson's Crab Shack is a club that Nelson will own in the future.

Description

Nelson's Crab Shack is located on the shoreline in Springfield, and can be accessed via water as well as land, as there is a pier located at the rear of the building. The Crab Shack's construction is primitive, but solid, and appears to rely heavily on aluminum siding.

The club either makes very little money or Nelson is very stingy in his approach to managing its finances. The latter is more likely the case. Nelson books local acts for entertainment and pays them poorly, as seen when he engages Captain Bart and the Tequila Mockingbirds to perform and pays them with nothing but popcorn shrimp. However, the stage is equipped with a laser grid that activates and destroys any objects that are thrown at the stage, thus protecting performers from unappreciative audiences. This is fortunate, as the club attracts a clientele who are discriminating in their musical tastes and not shy about expressing their opinions.

History

Captain Bart and the Tequila Mockingbirds had a gig at Nelson's Crab Shack. They played a very thinly veiled cover of a Jimmy Buffett song ("Margaritaville"), much to the audience's displeasure. They immediately booed and began throwing bottles and other objects at the stage. The laser grid activated and disintegrated everything the audience threw at it. However, the barrage continued and threatened to overload the grid, prompting Willie (who was running the grid) to panic and shout, "We need more power! The shield won't hold much longer!"

Behind the Laughter

The club's name is a pun on the slang term "crap shack".
