Plot
Homer wins a law degree in a bar bet with Gil. Homer takes on Gil's cases and defends various criminals including: Snake, Fat Tony and Jack Crowley and manages to win all his cases due to unorthodox defense methods. Blue-haired lawyer brings Homer his next case; arson and the defendant is Bart. Principal Skinner pressed charges after Bart was spotted fleeing a fire at the school. Homer is unable to use unusual defense methods due to accidently setting Judge Snyder's bench on fire. At Springfield Elementary School Lisa's class has been merged with Bart's due to half the school being burnt. Lisa steps in for Homer and proves Bart was innocent, the fire was started when Mrs. Krabappel threw a cigarette out of a window and it passed in front of Bart's spray paint can. Nelson meanwhile is moved up several grades due to improved school results (as a result of Martin giving him answers to tests).
