  • Homer refers to hanging wallpaper as the "Sport of Kings"; however, in real life "Sport of Kings" is a nickname for horse racing.
  • When Bart reminds Homer that Marge gave him money to hire a professional to hang the wallpaper, Homer pooh-poohs the idea, sarcastically citing the following as "what professionals have gotten us":
  • The Drifter whom Homer finally hires to hang the wallpaper resembles Shaggy from the Scooby-Doo franchise.
