Bartman is a comic story featured in Bartman #4. It is the first part of a three-part series. In the UK it was released in Bart Simpson #17.

Plot

Bartman thwarts a teenager's attempt to sell black market action figures. Shortly afterwards in a news report, Kent Brockman tries to convince Springfield that Bartman is a dangerous threat and should no longer be welcome. Meanwhile, Canker, an unidentified figure, is planning to destroy Bartman and conquer Springfield. The next day Bart finds an enormous campaign to throw Bartman out of Springfield, he decides there is no other option than to retire as the superhero. A number of Canker's accomplices steal diamonds from a vault and frame Bartman, further harming his reputation. Milhouse attempts to convince Bart not to retire while he is framed for more crimes, but Bart refuses. Milhouse decides his only option is to take over Bartman's role.

The story is continued in Bartman - Part Two: Sisters Are Doin' It For Themselves.
