Jamie appears in the story Jamie and the Gigantic Pear.

History

When Jamie was working on his family's farm, his aunts, Splunge and Striker, gave him money to buy cigarettes for them. The store cashier gave him a magic potion that would bring him true happiness if he received their family cow, Jack. Jamie told him that they did not have a cow, but he gave him some seeds on the condition that he did not visit him again. On the farm Jamie dropped the bag of seeds that would have given him true happiness. At night, a large pear began to grow from the seeds. In the morning, however, he unfortunately found that his father had eaten the pear.

Behind the Laughter

Jamie is a parody of James from James and the Giant Peach. Planting magical seeds in return for a cow is a reference to Jack and the Beanstalk.
