Kidz Newz was a short-lived news program targeted towards children. It was produced by and broadcasted on Channel 6 to fulfill the FCC's requirement for educational programming, and to make room for the show 20 minutes of the Krusty the Clown Show was trimmed. Kidz Newz was quickly cancelled because of the very poor viewing figures with an average of 0.1% viewing share, and was replaced with The Mattel and Mars Bar Quick Energy Chocobot Hour. Kidz Newz was where Bart Simpson filmed his part of Kidz Newz, Bart's People, in which he would report about the citizens of Springfield, such as Groundskeeper Willie.
