H.M.S. Pinafore is a comic opera by W.S. Gilbert and Arthur Sullivan.
History
Bart asks Sideshow Bob as a "last request" to perform the entire operetta to stall him before they get to Springfield on a boat.[1]
When Homer found the free trampoline ad in the Springfield Shopper, one of the other items being given away was a Gilbert and Sullivan manuscript, the original draft of H.M.S. Pinafore.[2]
