Character Information
|
Ebenezer McGrew, better known as Mr. McGrew, is a character from Mr. McGrew's Christmas Carol.
History
Mr. McGrew told Bob Cratchett that he was to work on Christmas or he'd be out of the job. Bob Cratchett then pointed out that McGrew wasn't actually looking at him when speaking. McGrew was actually speaking to his stovepipe oven, which he then mistook for a pregnant woman. Mr. McGrew then put his head in the oven.
Later, the Ghost of Christmas Past appeared to Mr. McGrew and told him that his fiancé was about to leave him as he was being selfish. McGrew said that he didn't need love as he had money. Later that night, Mr. McGrew pleaded with the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come, but the spirit pointed at a grave with his name on.
Behind the Laughter
Ebenezer McGrew is a parody of Ebenezer Scrooge from A Christmas Carol.
