The Rigellian couple are two unnamed Rigellians who were stranded in Roswell, New Mexico in 1947 after their ship was damaged.

History

After the Rigellian couple had been stranded on Earth for many months, it was just before Christmas when they finally had enough power to light their ship's S.O.S. beacon and summon help. Their timing proved to be unfortunate, as one of their neighbors (a man who resembled Ned Flanders) was impressed with the beacon and mistook it for a holiday display. The idea quickly caught on, and everybody in Roswell put lights on their houses. When the Rigellian scouts arrived in orbit to evacuate the couple, they were unable to determine the stranded ship's specific location because the whole town was lit up. The scouts thus had to abort the pickup, leaving the couple on Earth.

Behind the Laughter

The Rigellian couple wear disguises in which they resemble an opposite-sex human couple. However, because Rigellians' gender-distinguishing characteristics are considerably different from those of humans, their actual genders are unknown.
