- McBain tells Homer, "Please watch my new movie, McBain: The Postman Always Dies Twice", a reference to the film The Postman Always Rings Twice.
Trivia
- Homer's recall of the shopping list changing from a loaf of bread and a gallon of milk to a llama and a boomerang is an example of a mondegreen, also seen in the television episode "The PTA Disbands".
