Character Information

Brain Freeze Steve was a boy who drank a Squishee with two straws at once, allegedly causing his head to crack open.
History
37 years in the past, Steve visited the Springfield Malt Shoppe and House of Wax Horrors with his mother. He bought a newly introduced Squishee from the store clerk Abraham Simpson, who gave him two straws to drink with. On the way out, Steve yelped in pain, his head appearing to crack open.
The incident created the legend of Brain Freeze Steve. Seven years later, when the store had been replaced with the Kwik-E-Mart, Kirk Van Houten prevented a young Homer Simpson and Barney Gumble from drinking Squishees using two straws, relaying the story of Steve, although Homer just dismissed it as an urban legend.
After another 30 years, Milhouse prevented Bart from drinking a Squishee with two straws for the same reason, inspiring Bart to search for Steve's ghost in the Kwik-E-Mart. Although the kids found a secret factory, there was no trace of Steve's ghost.
