Plasmo used his powers to open up a portal to the Betaverse to find out what happened there after Radioactive Man-Beta came through an energy rift. However, he couldn't open up to the Betaverse and they instead ended up in the negative universe. Plasmo helped the other heroes to defeat Nega-Pneumatica and opened up a portal to his universe again. However, he then found that the whole thing had been a trick using holograms and technology. Machines in the facility were causing interference so he couldn't sense the existence of the Betaverse. But now that he was away from the machines, he could sense it again.[5]
