Synopsis
- "When Marge and Homer leave Grampa to babysit the kids, some little green army men trigger a PTSD episode, sending the family on a journey to Grampa's past to when he was a post-war toy model."
Plot
At the Simpson house, Homer and Marge are getting ready for their anniversary evening, leaving the kids in the caring of Amazon Alexa and Google Home. Bart however commands Home to shoot Alexa, but his beam was reflected by Alexa and broke a glass. Seeing the trouble they could cause Homer goes to the Retirement Castle and asks Grampa to babysit them, while they go for their evening.
When they bring out the toys, Bart takes out army men from a Toys Were Us bag and scares Grampa, making him remember the World War II. When Homer and Marge returned they take Grampa to the V.A. Hospital to check on him, and find out that he was the model for the toy soldiers, revealing the scene from World War II was actually a photo shooting for taking the model of him.
After going back home once the hospital started charging, Grampa tells the story of what happened after the War and the fact that they never payed him for the toys. After partecipating in tv shows, he is invited to the toy company in New York City, which reveals he never signed his contract after running away from the shooting sessions.
It's then revealed that the photographer, Philip, misunderstood him and shared a kiss with Grampa, that being the reason he fled. The family finds out that Philip was fired for this as in the old days it was seen as a sin.
They find out that Philip now lives in Texas, so to apologyze to him, they travel to Texas. Arriving at Marfa, Grampa meets Philip, seeing he is happy, while building and painting Grampa since then. Before going back, they even finish the photo session. Back at home, the toy soldiers start dancing, the night before being played by Nelson, Milhouse and Bart and then being placed in the microwave.
