In the beginning of the episode, Homer is seen sleeping in his work place. A fire breaks out so two people comes in and start putting it out with firefighting foam. Homer takes a bit of the foam and makes it into a pillow and continue to sleep. The next scene is in the hospital were Marge is worried about Homer and tell Dr. Hibbert that Homer have been sleeping a lot lately. Dr. Hibbert takes a test and gives Homer the diagnosis narcolepsy. Homer is given a paper which says that he have narcolepsy so he uses it as an excuse to just lay on the couch and do nothing. Marge says he should go up and pick up his medicine so he goes to the drug store. Synopsis
- "Homer is diagnosed with narcolepsy — but instead of returning home with his prescription medication — he returns home drunk. He and Marge visit a marriage counselor and have a trial separation, during which Homer begins dating a 20-something."
