Lisa wins the Springfield Elementary's Matheletics Competition but it turns out that the school can no longer afford to send her to the out-of-state semifinals. Lisa then ask Homer if he can pay the trip but he can not afford it, this makes Lisa sad. Bart and Milhouse walk away to the Kwik-E-Mart for buy a squishee, Bart thought it was too little syrup so he decide to make a one with only syrup when Apu looks away. Milhouse warns him and leave the store. Bart starts using the squshee machine butit can not handle the pressure this time and explode.

The next day tell Martin to Lisa about the Math Club, where club members challenge each other on mathematical problems. Lisa joins the club and Lisa wins every duel that she gets. After she won six duels find Lisa out that there is money to the winner, because the club has come up with a system how to win the lottery. This means that maybe now can Lisa afford a ticket to the Matheletics Competition. To pay the repair of the squishee mashine begins Bart to work again on the Kwik-E-Mart. It turns out that Bart is better this time to perform his duties. The follow nights continues Bart to work at the Kwik-E-Mart and Lisa earns money through the math club, but soon begins Lisa become addicted to solve math problems and begin to stay awake all day. Lisa realizes after a few days without sleep that she must go to bed when her competitive spirit appears that persuades her to stay awake and continue solving math problems, to bring in more money, which she accept. Meanwhile is Bart still doing a good job on the Kwik-E-Mart.

After Lisa scolded Database against her will challenge Lisa her competitive spirit on a Mathe battle where the winner takes charge completely. At the same time dismisses Apu, Bart because he has worked 100 hours without sleep and become a model employee and Apu are worried that Bart will take his job. Since the pay was paid two days ago gives Apu a bonus pay to Bart. Lisa is doing his Mathe battle over her charge completely when Bart pass them. Bart tell to Lisa and her charge completely that it is unfair that they are twins now, that made Lisa's charge completely forgetting the math duel for she is now confused about how Bart can sees her. After Lisa's completely forgetting didn't answer on Lisa's question under five seonds win Lisa the math duel and her charge completely disappears. Lisa thank Bart and tell him that she will end up on the math club, even though she almost could afford to buy the tickets. Bart feels sorry for Lisa, and give him his bonus pay. The Simpson family as now and watching when Lisa takes part in the Competition Matheletics out-of-state semifinals. Marge tell to Bart that it was nicely done to give the money to Lisa, Bart tell Marge that he is just happy that the stage was double-booked so they have both the mathletics semifinals and a Monster Truck Rally at the same time in the arena.
