Incidents
- In the episode Fear of Flying, Homer Simpson went to the The Little Black Box, the last bar in Springfield at the airport after being kicked out of Moe's Tavern. Then he was sent to take charge of a flight to Chicago-O'Hare (although he didn't know how to fly a plane). When he got into the Air Springfield Boeing 707 (or Douglas DC-10, possibly an Airbus A340-600), he accidently raised the landing gear while parked on the apron. There were a few minor injuries.
- There was also another incident in Fear of Flying. An Air Springfield Boeing 707 (or a McDonnell Douglas DC-10, possibly an Airbus A340-600) over-ran the runway and ended up in the water. There were no fatalities.
- Springfield mayor Joe Quimby attempted to hijack a Boeing 747.
