Synopsis[edit]

"In a magical medieval world, Marge's mother is turned into an Ice Walker and the only way for Homer to afford the cure is to force Lisa to use illegal magic. When the King discovers this, he kidnaps Lisa, and Homer must lead a feudal uprising to save her."

Plot[edit]

In the kingdom of Springfieldia, the Serfsons receive a visit by a noble passing through the house on horse, after which Milhouse invites the family to the city walls where new severed heads are being added. The family visit Jacqueline Bouvier at The Webs at Giant Spider Acres, a retirement forest, and then go to the city walls Marge discovers her mother's body is freezing over.

At Barber Hibbert's Surgery, Krusty is found with genital Snerfs, while Jacqueline is found with progressive frozen mortification, having being bitten by an icewalker. To save her he proposes a treatment, buying an Amulet of Warmfyre. However, the family is unable to afford it, and Marge tells Homer to raise the necessary money.

At Moe's, Moe receives a message attached to a crow, which turns out to be a prank from Bart. At the Springfieldia Human Power Plant, Homer and the others are working as slaves for Lord Montgomery, pushing a manual power generator wheel. Homer sneaks away to ask for money from Montgomery, however he is refused.

Lisa takes Homer down an alley to tell him that she has a solution. Using magic she turns a lead piece into gold, however she can't use her powers or the King will take her away and turn her into an evil wizard. The King is then seen with his evil wizards scolding them for creating an All-Smelling Tower instead of a all-seeing eye. Bart is then seen killing Milhouse clones with a ball and chain just for fun.

Back at home, Marge gives the amulet to her mother, but she tells Marge that she just wants to die. In the end, she agrees to live and they celebrate, eating Hobbits. The family is reunited and happy, until Sorcererintendant Chalmers comes in demanding they hand over Lisa to the king, as she's a witch. Lisa is taken away to the King, while leaving Janey behind. Homer is willing to get her back and groups up the people of Springfieldia to revolt.

They arrive at the walls of the castle, but are stopped when the door gets closed. Treestache, and other walking and talking trees, agree to help them by tearing down the walls, however they're chopped down to make ladders to scale the walls.

A big fight starts, and many people die, before Jacqueline sacrifices herself to extinguish the fires in the dragon, removing the amulet, transforming into an ice walking statue and melting inside it.

The people discover that extinguishing the dragon's fire removes the magic from the world, to the people's dismay, including magical creatures. Unwilling to bring science to the world, Homer relights the fire in the dragon's mouth, which then burns the village.

Reception[edit]

"The Serfsons" was nominated for a 2018 Writers Guild of America award in Animation, but it lost to "Time's Arrow" from BoJack Horseman.[1]
