Gavelby's Auction House is an auction house.

History[edit]

Bart and Homer visited the auction house to buy the "Kissing Lincolns" penny, but Mr. Burns was there and bought every coin they sold, including the Kissing Lincolns for $10 million.[1]

The Simpson family were going to sell a painting they bought from Van Houtens at the auction house.[2]

After the Springfield Museum of Fine Arts closed down, all the artwork was sold at auction at Gavelby's, including The Poetess by Joan Miró. Homer, who had fallen in love with the painting, tried to get it, despite not having the money. Mr. Burns also bid for the painting but it was eventually won by Megan Matheson. After Mr. Burns lost out, he had an identical Gavelby's built next door so he could steal The Poetess for himself.[3]
