The Old Quarry is a quarry with a pipe leading into the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant.

History[edit]

When Homer, Lenny, Carl and Moe were younger, they came here to go swimming. Homer jumped off, only to fall in mud and started to panic. He then found the dead body of Waylon Smithers, Sr. that came out of the pipe and landed in his lap, giving him nightmares. He eventually managed to suppress this memory until it was brought up again by Mesmerino.

Years later, Homer and his family return here. Marge drains the quarry using Burly Paper Towels and then they find the body and follow the pipe up to the Power Plant where Mr. Burns reveals that he used the pipe to toss away a dead body.
