Persephone is the daughter of Zeus and queen of the underworld. She was abducted by her uncle, Hades the king of the underworld, in Greek mythology.
History[edit]
When Herb Powell learned that his new car was called Persephone he asked what kind of name it was. The constructors told him that she was the Greek goddess of spring and rebirth and she was carried off to Hades, where she ate six pomegranate. Herb interrupted them and said people didn't want cars named after hungry old Greeks.[1]
