Comic Story information

Judge Marge is a Simpsons Comics story first printed in Simpsons Comics #64.
Plot[edit]
Lisa tells Homer that she needs glasses for a condition called "overachieving eye". He gives her Ned Flanders' glasses, having been told by Dr. Nick that all glasses prescriptions are the same. Lisa finds Flanders' glasses overbearing, as they make the world appear too exuberant, so is instead given a monocle by Grampa. Everyone in town feels threatened by Lisa in the monocle.
Meanwhile, Flanders has trouble getting to church due to Homer stealing his glasses. He accidentally takes Rod and Todd to a Hari Krishna Temple and after the service crashes his car into Principal Skinner's. The case is unable to go to court due to Judge Snyder being sick with Lyme Disease, so Skinner inflicts his own punishment on Flanders by having him write lines on the road. The town votes for Skinner to be their new judge. His new role involves school-based penalties against criminals, including having dodgeballs thrown at Snake as punishment for car theft.
Skinner's role as judge is to be televised, to replace the show Judge Julie, while Julie is in prison. Bart interrupts one of his court sessions and Skinner is unable to control him. When Marge appears and successfully punishes Bart by showing baby pictures to the camera, Lindsey Naegle offers for her to take over as the TV judge. Marge works effectively as judge, but the Simpson household no longer has an authority figure to keep things under control. Judge Snyder takes over as the family matriarch, but the environment becomes reminiscent of a courthouse, to the dismay of Homer.
After scaring off a group of bullies, Lisa decides to take advantage of her monocle's power to intimidate. She starts demanding free samples of food and takes Bart's piggy bank. She eventually has a vision of her monocle corrupting her, so she destroys it. Moments later Grampa tells her that it is worth $50,000. The family beg Marge to return home, which she does when she learns of a loophole in her contract. The family go for ice cream, although Homer has been forced to wear a shock collar by Snyder.
