Mob Rules

"Mob Rules" is the fifth level of The Simpsons Game. Marge and Lisa recruit angry people of Springfield to claim the prohibition of the violent video game Grand Theft Scratchy.

Description[edit]

This is the first level to include Marge as a playable character, as well as all of her powers. Lisa helps Marge and the mob in getting into hard to reach places using the Hand of Buddha.

"Marge and Lisa work together to get an angry mob together to get Grand Theft Scratchy banned from Springfield."

Marge and Lisa are walking while reading a Springfield Shopper article about a senator trying to ban the video game Grand Theft Scratchy for kids, but Mayor Quimby is being bribed by an EA executive. Meanwhile, Martin buys the game and steals Ned Flanders' car to get home quickly. Lisa tells Marge she can control mobs with a megaphone, so they decide to use this power to stop Grand Theft Scratchy. They recruit Springfield citizens to destroy Grand Theft Scratchy floats, fighting kids in Itchy and Scratchy masks and riot cops around the city.

Reaching the town square, they find the Jebediah Springfield statue replaced by an Itchy and Scratchy statue, with more riot cops trying to stop Marge's mob. After destroying the statue, Scratchy's head rolls into the town hall, breaking a wall. Inside, Mayor Quimby and the EA executive are too distracted in the pool to notice. When the executive bribes Quimby, he calls his sexy interns. Marge uses Maggie to turn up the heat on the pool, forcing them out. When the executive sees the senator, the bribe falls through, and Quimby agrees to stop selling Grand Theft Scratchy to kids. The mob celebrates, and Marge kisses the Simpsons Game book, while Lisa rolls her eyes at the irony of using violence to stop a violent video game.

Later, the Simpson family discusses their new powers in the kitchen, leading to an argument. Suddenly, aliens Kang and Kodos invade, bringing the Lard Lad statue to life, causing dolphins to attack humans and destroy the Paradise Pier, and destroying the Springfield Mall. The Simpsons' powers aren't strong enough, so they seek help from the smartest person in Springfield, Professor Frink.

Gameplay[edit]

Xbox 360/PS3 & Wii/PS2/PSP Version[edit]

Start by recruiting Flanders to join your mob, then target the nearby float and send him to destroy it. That's one down, two to go! Pick up Hibbert and Krabappel along the way to the next float. Fend off some GTS kids in the next street, and then find Frink, Lenny, and Carl to expand your mob to six. After defeating the kids, destroy the third float to unlock the next objective. Switch to Lisa and activate the Hand of Buddha from the Sequel Stop roof. Use it to pick up cars to defeat enemies, then grab the large black case from the nearby parking lot and place it in front of the hydrant. This will stop the water, clearing a path for the mob to advance. Remember that your mob will shrink if members are injured and runoff. Keep your megaphone ready to gather them. Clear out the cops, then direct your mob to destroy the two floats in the parking lot. First, use Lisa's Hand of Buddha to move the destroyed floats and create a bridge to reach the billboards. Deal with the cops, then have two mob members attack a wall crack to enter the parking lot. Recruit Cletus, Moe, and Reverend Lovejoy here to bring your mob up to nine. Clear the cops, then send Lisa to the top level with a tire trampoline. Lift the cars for the mob to follow and destroy the first billboard. For the second billboard, turn left to find a vent hole. Use Maggie to crawl through, disable the electricity, and clear the path to destroy the billboard. Get the mob to the elevator and direct them all onto it. Then, use Lisa's Hand of Buddha to lower the elevator to the ground floor. Destroy the three floats by either sending the mob as a whole or splitting them into groups. Move Lisa to the Hand of Buddha on the left-side building roof, then lift and place three construction sets in position. Switch to Marge to direct the mob to build a ramp. In the next area, recruit three new members and block two pesky hydrants. Send Lisa to lift a black crate to block one hydrant and open a path to an alley. Free Snake from the jail cell to add him to your mob.

At the Town Square, gather as many mob members as possible as they fend off cops independently, giving you some breathing room. Once you've gathered a full mob of twenty, defeat the cops and direct everyone to the statue. Use Lisa's Clobber Girl if needed, and keep the mob together until the statue is destroyed. Head to the Town Hall roof, place Maggie in the vent and navigate past the turns and steam. After Quimby's cutscene, turn the first steam wheel. Continue through the path, turning two more wheels to heat things up and wrap up the mission.

DS Version[edit]

Tap on citizens to recruit them, then send the mob after the unruly kids—they're the enemy! Next, assign the mob to knock down the Itchy & Scratchy sign. Use the Hand of Buddha to move the orange car to the left to clear the way, then lead Marge's mob into the crowd of cops and defeat them. In the next area, run ahead and set up your mob to tackle enemies, then take down the sign. Defeat the next set of cops, then click on the ladder to have the mob build one for Lisa. Climb up, use the Hand of Buddha to clear the garbage bin, and send the mob to knock down the sign before moving to the next area. At the Parking Lot, Head to the top level and activate the Hand of Buddha to move the large SUV left, and then move the two vertical cars toward the posters. Assign some mob members to build a bridge to the next roof. Once there, place Maggie in the vent, de-electrify the sign, and assign the mob to build a bridge. Use the Hand of Buddha to place the battery in the motor, ride the elevator down, and Lisa will follow. Use the next Hand of Buddha to clear the garbage bin and recruit more mob members to knock down the sign. In the next area, engage the police squad and defeat them until the area is clear. Recruit Otto and Comic Book Guy to build a ladder up to the beige building's roof. Climb up as Lisa, then use the Hand of Buddha to clear the large SUV (left), the green garbage bin (middle), and the large SUV (right). Gather mob members and knock down the sign. Use the final Hand of Buddha to move cars on the right: green car left, orange car down, and SUV left then down. Proceed to the next area.

At the Town Hall, cops will keep spawning from the police building here, so don't waste time fighting them. Recruit a few mob members and build a ladder up to the Hand of Buddha on the left. Move the green garbage bin to block the stairs, then do the same with the cars on the right side. Block both stairways with garbage bins. Gather three citizens to attack the Itchy & Scratchy statue in the town square. Use the Hand of Buddha to pick up the statue's head and place it next to the large open window and yellow machine. As Marge, head to Town Hall, cross the gap, climb the ladder to the roof, and place Maggie in the vent to get the Mayor's attention.

• Located on a ledge above the first Maggie vent hole.
• In the courtyard area where you build a ramp to exit, find this collectible on a ledge near the green poles.
