History[edit]

Feeling uneasy about the Springfield Monorail, Marge visits Lyle Lanley and discovers a notebook that reveals his true intentions: to have the monorail break down while he absconds with the town's money. When Lanley catches her, Marge quickly claims she was just browsing, and he believes her, unaware that she knows his plans.

Marge then drives to North Haverbrook, a previous purchaser of one of Lanley's monorails. There, she finds the town rundown and nearly deserted. As she inquires about the monorail, residents are tight-lipped. A woman at a drive-in diner insists there's no monorail, but as she closes the doors, the diner reveals its name: "MONORAIL CAFE."
