Hamlet was the prince of Denmark from the famous tragedy Hamlet by William Shakespeare which was retold in the book Classics for Children.
History
In the form of his father's ghost told him how his uncle Claudius poured poison in his ear so he could marry Hamlet's mother Gertrude and usurp the throne. His father commanded him to avenge his murder.
Prince Hamlet, with the help of a clown, put on a play to make Claudius reveal himself to be guilty.
