The Flaming Blue Wiener is a bird that was discovered by the Springfield Bird Sanctuary.
History[edit]
The Flaming Blue Wiener was named after Principal Skinner after Springfield Elementary School raised money for the Springfield Bird Sanctuary. Lisa was to present the bird, which was to be named "The Skinner Sparrow", to Principal Skinner during an assembly. However, since she was looking after Mr. Hoots, an injured owl, at the Bird Sanctuary at the time of the assembly, Bart presented the bird instead. Bart told the Sanctuary employees that Lisa had requested the bird be renamed to "The Flaming Blue Wiener" at the last minute, which embarrassed Skinner.
