When [[Mr. Burns' Casino]] opened, [[Bart]] visited it and won a jackpot in a slot machine; however, he was quickly thrown out for being underage. In revenge, Bart built his own casino in his treehouse, called it Bart's Casino and invited his friends to come and play the games.

Bart exacted further revenge on Mr. Burns' Casino by stealing one of its headline acts. {{Ch|Robert Goulet}} was booked into Mr. Burns' Casino when Bart picked him up at the airport, persuaded him that Bart's Casino was the correct place and took him to the treehouse. Goulet still had doubts about whether he was in the right place, but nonetheless gave a performance for Bart and his friends, singing "{{ap|Jingle Bells|$pringfield|Jingle Bells, Batman Smells}}".

== Synopsis ==
{{Desc|After butchering a speech in front of all of his friends at work, [[Homer]] turns to improv comedy to gain back his confidence in his public speaking skills. Meanwhile, [[Marge]] decides to rebuild [[Bart]]'s lackluster treehouse, but tensions rise when Bart questions her building skills. Also, in the episode's last three minutes, Homer appears LIVE for the first time on television (both for East and West Coast broadcasts) to answer fan questions.}}

== Plot ==
[[Homer]] is preparing his annual speech to do in front of all [[Nuclear Plant]] workers, his plan being to repeat the speech he did every year, however his lines were repetitive or offensive to the sick [[Lenny]]'s grandmother. [[Mr. Burns]] used his only speechline he prepared and that made him nervous, and he passed out from the pressure, getting a trauma of public speaking.

To calm down Homer, [[Marge]] took him to a stand-up comedy show, where Homer is amazed by the talents of the actors to improv, and decides to join an improv class, where he learns he has a talent for improvising scenes. He, Lenny and [[Carl]] try their actor's talents at Moe's Tavern, where Homer gets acclaimed by the public and the [[Springfield Shopper]] critics. Homer is invited to perform at the Springfield Fringe Festival.

On a secondary plot, [[Bart]] and Lisa go to [[Ralph]]'s birthday party, and Bart realizes that Ralph's treehouse, built by his [[Wiggum|father]] with the money he got from the evidence locker, is better than his decading treehouse. When they return home, Bart starts destroying the treehouse and when Marge finds out what's happening, she starts building a treehouse, however Marge overhears Bart being unthankful while talking to Milhouse, saying there's no need to thank her, and that she was only doing her job. Marge gets angry at him, but thanks to the help from Homer's speech cards, they reconcile the next morning.

At the end, Homer is introduced by Lisa, Bart, Marge and [[Maggie]], for the live segment, inside the Fox Studios Secret Bunker. Homer answers calls from the TV audience, while several characters appear on screen, either performing some actions, showing cards, or in Bart's case, pantsing Homer. The secret bunker is later revealed to just be a fake set made out of cardboard inside the [[Simpson House]].

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly,<ref>[http://www.ew.com/article/2016/05/04/simpsons-live-episode-homer-first-look EW.com]</ref> [[Al Jean]], executive producer of the show, talks about the realization of the live segment and how hard it's going to be. "Well, it's certainly us making it a lot harder on ourselves than we have to, but the interest in it has been so enormous, it's definitely worth it. When you have a show like this that has so many things going for it, you gotta use that capital and do interesting things because you can."

Jean continues saying that the live segment animation will be different than what we normally see in Springfield. "There is less of a variety of motion, and after awhile, it might start to look a little repetitive. "That's why we're not doing any more than three minutes. You have a limited number of lip assignments and motions that [[Homer]] can make, and you see him run through those in the course of the three minutes. The reason I don't think they're going to be doing half-hour motion capture shows in the near future is because although it is much cheaper and you can just film it live, you can't do the complicated set pieces that people want from animation. We do everything we can in the three minutes that's possible."

In the follow up of the previous interview,<ref>[http://www.ew.com/article/2016/05/06/simpsons-live-episode-homer-al-jean EW.com]</ref> EW asks Al Jean how long has he been working on the live idea for this episode. Jean answered: "It's funny. We talked about doing a Homer-going-live thing on [[The Tonight Show]] for a promotion for [[The Simpsons Movie]] with motion capture. We discussed it as long ago as that [in 2007], but it didn't seem like the technology was up to what we wanted. And then [[John Frink]], who wrote the episode, said, "Hey why don't we try to have Homer improv for real at the end of the show?" So we looked back at the motion capture [technology], which had advanced. [[Fox|Fox Sports]] had worked out a program from [[Adobe Systems|Adobe]], and I thought it was much more convincing — at least for about three minutes, which is what we're using it for at the end of the episode. The other thing that's terrific is [[Dan Castellaneta]] does improv all the time. He's one of the best improvers there is. We couldn't have somebody better to be doing it."

Wondering why the segment is so short, EW asked if they thought of a longer segment or an entire episode revolving live. Al answered "<nowiki>[Motion capture technology]</nowiki> used to have electrodes wired into the person. Now they don't. The actor just speaks into a mic, and the camera records his motions, and transfers it to the character onscreen. However, you can only do that with one or at most two characters. The backgrounds don't change and the character can't really interact with somebody in the background. We have background jokes that are pre-set. For three minutes, that's fine. For 30 minutes, I think people would get pretty tired of it. (Laughs) Anything's possible in the future, but at the moment, three seemed like the perfect amount."

About the idea of using two characters, EW asks why Al Jean didn't use that idea, to which Al Jean answered "We thought about it, but then it was like, "Who would the other person be? Would we get a celebrity?" And we thought the better thing would be for Homer to interact with the fans." About the possibility for Homer to answer the questions with the rest of the family, Jean answered "Theoretically. Maybe we would do that someday. But for this, when you see the story of the episode, it's all about Homer improvising, so the thematic part of the show is Homer conquering his fear of public speaking."

EW asked whatever other characters will make cameos during the episode to which Al Jean answered "They appear in the background doing some stuff, but they don't speak."
To EW wondering if the crew had any problems or glitches with this live segment, Al Jean said "We haven't had any glitches yet. I always feel — and this is the whole [[Saturday Night Live|SNL]] philosophy: If there's a little glitch, that's fun, too. That's the excitement of live television. And to my knowledge, no animated show has done this before... I think this is going to be really incredible — or incredibly terrible."

EW asked what questions will Homer answer, especially with the fact that Jean is reticent about breaking the fourth wall, and he commented, "A question like, "What actor does what?", that won't get by. It would have to be a question to Homer, not a question breaking the fourth wall. I assume everyone is going to want to make it into this episode, so they're going to try to think of questions that we would use, rather than get rejected. There's still a wide variety of questions you can ask him."

EW asked where Homer will be and he answered "He'll be in a Fox secret bunker in an undisclosed location. That's the background we've drawn." The location was revealed in the last interview. EW asks if that breaks the fourth wall and he answers "No, because we've always said that there is a connection with Fox and The Simpsons, but he doesn't think he is an actor or a character." The next question is about how they got Homer in the bunker. "The family is on the couch and Lisa says, "Now we're going to do something that was first done on TV 50 years ago, and we've finally gotten around to it, and our dad will answer questions." And [[Bart]] says, "Take it, Homer.""
How will Homer react to random people asking questions to him in the bunker is the next question. "Yeah... He just thinks: He's been an astronaut. He's done a lot of things. Why won't people want to ask him questions?"

Next is [[Dan Castellaneta]]'s reaction to the idea: "He's game for everything. He's a very brave man and very funny and didn't blink. He's up for the challenge." And how will the writers will help Dan out to answer the questions. "We'll be there to screen questions and maybe think about [jokes] if there's a big event that day. But the truth is, you want to have somebody funny who doesn't feel like he's got eight things to try to decide between, where he's just going with his gut. So it really will be him. God only knows, if [[Donald Trump]] says something stupid, we might make a joke to lead off. But in general, it's just going to be Dan. That's what makes it live. That's what makes it exciting." Of course, a question would be how to make it feel live, and not recorded. "We'll do the equivalent of holding up today's newspaper, where we talk about something that's going on right then. It will be live, I guarantee it, and the way we set it up, it's to make it very clear that this is really happening. It's not a trick." What appealed to Al and if it's the unknown of what's going to happen is next. "Yeah — and I wanted to do it before any other animated shows did it. (Laughs)"

Regarding the difficulty of having to animate it in motion capture and how it will appear to the viewers is posed, and Jean answers "It shouldn't look any different. The difference is, there is less of a variety of motion, and after awhile, it might start to look a little repetitive. That's why we're not doing any more than three minutes. The reason I don't think they're going to be doing half-hour motion capture shows in the near future is because although it is much cheaper and you can just film it live, you can't do the complicated set pieces that people want from animation. We do everything we can in the three minutes that's possible. But there would be no way we would be doing a full show like this anytime in the near future." Problems may arise with trying something new. "There could be a snafu where we don't get the question to Homer, that there's a little bit of a glitch. But as I say, that proves it's live. We'll have a seven-second delay, so it's not going to be any Janet Jackson sort of thing. Homer's not going to take off his clothes." EW wonders if this would be more difficult than {{W|Grease: Live|Grease Live}} and Al Jean promptly answers "A lot less danger to the performers."

Something new and interesting is asked by EW next: how will the viewers interact, especially how will the phone system work, a new tidbit of information revealed just now, and how will Homer interact with [[Facebook]] and [[Twitter]]. "The phone number will be released to the public in plenty of time. My guess is because you're going to get on an episode of The Simpsons, we'll fill up quickly and then we'll just have people waiting... We're going to have one tweet that he'll answer and also a couple of writers will be tweeting and answer questions as Homer, one on Facebook and one on Twitter simultaneously. We're trying to answer as many questions as we can."

EW concludes asking Jean what he would ask Homer. "Hmm, that's a good question... "What does [[Marge]] possibly see in him?"" and advises for the viewers that are calling, to make their questions go through. "Just ask an interesting question about Homer, and his life and if it's funny, we'll try to get it in. We're not looking for people to ask trivia questions about [[season 23]]."

=== The Wall Street Journal Interview ===

In an interview with The Wall Street Journal,<ref>[http://blogs.wsj.com/speakeasy/2016/05/13/how-the-simpsons-will-pull-off-a-live-episode/ The Wall Street Journal]</ref> showrunner Al Jean says "In terms of the anxiousness, I think this one's very high. Admittedly, we always have a million safety nets. Now, we have far fewer."
Al Jean and his team revealed that they'll be using a software by Adobe called {{W|Adobe Character Animator}} that will capture the voice of Dan Castellaneta and create Homer's mouth movement syncing it. Using the software, the team of animators will be able to control Homer's movements.

[[David Silverman]], producer and animator, adds "It's not a computer drawing; it's animation we've put in there that will be activated by these buttons, these triggers."
Al Jean confirms that "It's not something you'd want to watch for the whole show." and will last only three minutes.
Tests on how it'll go on both east coast and west coast airing has been done by the crew of the show and Al Jean, and also talked about future possibilities to expand on this "It's an incredibly fluid medium".

Al Jean also remembers that the number to call on Sunday night is 1-888-726-6660 and remembers the viewers to bring something sharp in the conversation with Homer "Homer's popularity is in no small way [related] to how funny Dan <nowiki>[Castellaneta]</nowiki> is. He improvised 'D'oh' — it had just said 'annoyed grunt' in the script."

In another interview, this time with YourTVLink,<ref>[http://www.yourtvlink.com/the-simpsons-hits-a-homer-by-making-the-character-live YourTVLink]</ref> Al Jean remembers again about The Tonight Show "Early on, when we were doing 'The Simpsons Movie,' we had talked about Dan appearing live as Homer on things like 'The Tonight Show,' but the technology that existed then seemed too rudimentary, and you really couldn't get very much range with the animation. So, John Frink — one of our writers — was doing an episode about improvisation and he said, 'Why don't we try having Homer live at the end?'

And some more details about the program used to make Homer go live: "We checked into (the technical aspect), and it's greatly improved. Some guys at Fox Sports, working in tandem with Adobe, have come up with a (computer) program that I think is pretty convincing. It's going to be Homer taking questions on the phone and talking live ... and we're doing it because we can."

Then he talks about how Dan Castellaneta's movements will work live. "We don't know what he's going to say, but there's no one better to be doing this. Motion capture (with the character mirroring the actor's movements) is really the key to it, and the improvements in it have made this possible."

And at the end he talked about how the process will be permanent in the show's history, "There'll be baseball games that Homer could talk about, and developments on the political scene also would seem likely that day. We won't really know what's going to happen until it happens, but there will be only three minutes for it. It's a new process, so I didn't think you could do a full show with it, I think people would get tired of it, so three minutes is an optimal length." Al Jean remembers to the callers that will go live that "You'll be in the show forever, because it's going into syndication that way. We're not going to change it."

== Plot ==
[[Homer]] is preparing his annual speech to do in front of all [[Nuclear Plant]] workers, his plan being to repeat the speech he did every year, however his lines were repetitive or offensive to the sick [[Lenny]]'s grandmother. [[Mr. Burns]] used his only speechline he prepared and that made him nervous, and he passed out from the pressure, getting a trauma of public speaking.

To calm down Homer, [[Marge]] took him to a stand-up comedy show, where Homer is amazed by the talents of the actors to improv, and decides to join an improv class, where he learns he has a talent for improvising scenes. He, Lenny and [[Carl]] try their actor's talents at Moe's Tavern, where Homer gets acclaimed by the public and the [[Springfield Shopper]] critics. Homer is invited to perform at the Springfield Fringe Festival.

On a secondary plot, [[Bart]] and Lisa go to [[Ralph]]'s birthday party, and Bart realizes that Ralph's treehouse, built by his [[Wiggum|father]] with the money he got from the evidence locker, is better than his decading treehouse. When they return home, Bart starts destroying the treehouse and when Marge finds out what's happening, she starts building a treehouse, however Marge overhears Bart being unthankful while talking to Milhouse, saying there's no need to thank her, and that she was only doing her job. Marge gets angry at him, but thanks to the help from Homer's speech cards, they reconcile the next morning.

At the end, Homer is introduced by Lisa, Bart, Marge and [[Maggie]], for the live segment, inside the Fox Studios Secret Bunker. Homer answers calls from the TV audience, while several characters appear on screen, either performing some actions, showing cards, or in Bart's case, pantsing Homer. The secret bunker is later revealed to just be a fake set made out of cardboard inside the [[Simpson House]].

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly,<ref>[http://www.ew.com/article/2016/05/04/simpsons-live-episode-homer-first-look EW.com]</ref> [[Al Jean]], executive producer of the show, talks about the realization of the live segment and how hard it's going to be. "Well, it's certainly us making it a lot harder on ourselves than we have to, but the interest in it has been so enormous, it's definitely worth it. When you have a show like this that has so many things going for it, you gotta use that capital and do interesting things because you can."

Jean continues saying that the live segment animation will be different than what we normally see in Springfield. "There is less of a variety of motion, and after awhile, it might start to look a little repetitive. "That's why we're not doing any more than three minutes. You have a limited number of lip assignments and motions that [[Homer]] can make, and you see him run through those in the course of the three minutes. The reason I don't think they're going to be doing half-hour motion capture shows in the near future is because although it is much cheaper and you can just film it live, you can't do the complicated set pieces that people want from animation. We do everything we can in the three minutes that's possible."

In the follow up of the previous interview,<ref>[http://www.ew.com/article/2016/05/06/simpsons-live-episode-homer-al-jean EW.com]</ref> EW asks Al Jean how long has he been working on the live idea for this episode. Jean answered: "It's funny. We talked about doing a Homer-going-live thing on [[The Tonight Show]] for a promotion for [[The Simpsons Movie]] with motion capture. We discussed it as long ago as that [in 2007], but it didn't seem like the technology was up to what we wanted. And then [[John Frink]], who wrote the episode, said, "Hey why don't we try to have Homer improv for real at the end of the show?" So we looked back at the motion capture [technology], which had advanced. [[Fox|Fox Sports]] had worked out a program from [[Adobe Systems|Adobe]], and I thought it was much more convincing — at least for about three minutes, which is what we're using it for at the end of the episode. The other thing that's terrific is [[Dan Castellaneta]] does improv all the time. He's one of the best improvers there is. We couldn't have somebody better to be doing it."

Wondering why the segment is so short, EW asked if they thought of a longer segment or an entire episode revolving live. Al answered "<nowiki>[Motion capture technology]</nowiki> used to have electrodes wired into the person. Now they don't. The actor just speaks into a mic, and the camera records his motions, and transfers it to the character onscreen. However, you can only do that with one or at most two characters. The backgrounds don't change and the character can't really interact with somebody in the background. We have background jokes that are pre-set. For three minutes, that's fine. For 30 minutes, I think people would get pretty tired of it. (Laughs) Anything's possible in the future, but at the moment, three seemed like the perfect amount."

About the idea of using two characters, EW asks why Al Jean didn't use that idea, to which Al Jean answered "We thought about it, but then it was like, "Who would the other person be? Would we get a celebrity?" And we thought the better thing would be for Homer to interact with the fans." About the possibility for Homer to answer the questions with the rest of the family, Jean answered "Theoretically. Maybe we would do that someday. But for this, when you see the story of the episode, it's all about Homer improvising, so the thematic part of the show is Homer conquering his fear of public speaking."

EW asked whatever other characters will make cameos during the episode to which Al Jean answered "They appear in the background doing some stuff, but they don't speak."
To EW wondering if the crew had any problems or glitches with this live segment, Al Jean said "We haven't had any glitches yet. I always feel — and this is the whole [[Saturday Night Live|SNL]] philosophy: If there's a little glitch, that's fun, too. That's the excitement of live television. And to my knowledge, no animated show has done this before... I think this is going to be really incredible — or incredibly terrible."

EW asked what questions will Homer answer, especially with the fact that Jean is reticent about breaking the fourth wall, and he commented, "A question like, "What actor does what?", that won't get by. It would have to be a question to Homer, not a question breaking the fourth wall. I assume everyone is going to want to make it into this episode, so they're going to try to think of questions that we would use, rather than get rejected. There's still a wide variety of questions you can ask him."

EW asked where Homer will be and he answered "He'll be in a Fox secret bunker in an undisclosed location. That's the background we've drawn." The location was revealed in the last interview. EW asks if that breaks the fourth wall and he answers "No, because we've always said that there is a connection with Fox and The Simpsons, but he doesn't think he is an actor or a character." The next question is about how they got Homer in the bunker. "The family is on the couch and Lisa says, "Now we're going to do something that was first done on TV 50 years ago, and we've finally gotten around to it, and our dad will answer questions." And [[Bart]] says, "Take it, Homer.""
How will Homer react to random people asking questions to him in the bunker is the next question. "Yeah... He just thinks: He's been an astronaut. He's done a lot of things. Why won't people want to ask him questions?"

Next is [[Dan Castellaneta]]'s reaction to the idea: "He's game for everything. He's a very brave man and very funny and didn't blink. He's up for the challenge." And how will the writers will help Dan out to answer the questions. "We'll be there to screen questions and maybe think about [jokes] if there's a big event that day. But the truth is, you want to have somebody funny who doesn't feel like he's got eight things to try to decide between, where he's just going with his gut. So it really will be him. God only knows, if [[Donald Trump]] says something stupid, we might make a joke to lead off. But in general, it's just going to be Dan. That's what makes it live. That's what makes it exciting." Of course, a question would be how to make it feel live, and not recorded. "We'll do the equivalent of holding up today's newspaper, where we talk about something that's going on right then. It will be live, I guarantee it, and the way we set it up, it's to make it very clear that this is really happening. It's not a trick." What appealed to Al and if it's the unknown of what's going to happen is next. "Yeah — and I wanted to do it before any other animated shows did it. (Laughs)"

Regarding the difficulty of having to animate it in motion capture and how it will appear to the viewers is posed, and Jean answers "It shouldn't look any different. The difference is, there is less of a variety of motion, and after awhile, it might start to look a little repetitive. That's why we're not doing any more than three minutes. You have a limited number of lip assignments and motions that Homer can make, and you see him run through those in the course of the three minutes. The reason I don't think they're going to be doing half-hour motion capture shows in the near future is because although it is much cheaper and you can just film it live, you can't do the complicated set pieces that people want from animation. We do everything we can in the three minutes that's possible. But there would be no way we would be doing a full show like this anytime in the near future." Problems may arise with trying something new. "There could be a snafu where we don't get the question to Homer, that there's a little bit of a glitch. But as I say, that proves it's live. We'll have a seven-second delay, so it's not going to be any Janet Jackson sort of thing. Homer's not going to take off his clothes." EW wonders if this would be more difficult than {{W|Grease: Live|Grease Live}} and Al Jean promptly answers "A lot less danger to the performers."

Something new and interesting is asked by EW next: how will the viewers interact, especially how will the phone system work, a new tidbit of information revealed just now, and how will Homer interact with [[Facebook]] and [[Twitter]]. "The phone number will be released to the public in plenty of time. My guess is because you're going to get on an episode of The Simpsons, we'll fill up quickly and then we'll just have people waiting... We're going to have one tweet that he'll answer and also a couple of writers will be tweeting and answer questions as Homer, one on Facebook and one on Twitter simultaneously. We're trying to answer as many questions as we can."

EW concludes asking Jean what he would ask Homer. "Hmm, that's a good question... "What does [[Marge]] possibly see in him?"" and advises for the viewers that are calling, to make their questions go through. "Just ask an interesting question about Homer, and his life and if it's funny, we'll try to get it in. We're not looking for people to ask trivia questions about [[season 23]]."

=== The Wall Street Journal Interview ===

In an interview with The Wall Street Journal,<ref>[http://blogs.wsj.com/speakeasy/2016/05/13/how-the-simpsons-will-pull-off-a-live-episode/ The Wall Street Journal]</ref> showrunner Al Jean says "In terms of the anxiousness, I think this one's very high. Admittedly, we always have a million safety nets. Now, we have far fewer."
Al Jean and his team revealed that they'll be using a software by Adobe called {{W|Adobe Character Animator}} that will capture the voice of Dan Castellaneta and create Homer's mouth movement syncing it. Using the software, the team of animators will be able to control Homer's movements.

[[David Silverman]], producer and animator, adds "It's not a computer drawing; it's animation we've put in there that will be activated by these buttons, these triggers."
Al Jean confirms that "It's not something you'd want to watch for the whole show." and will last only three minutes.
Tests on how it'll go on both east coast and west coast airing has been done by the crew of the show and Al Jean, and also talked about future possibilities to expand on this "It's an incredibly fluid medium".

Al Jean also remembers that the number to call on Sunday night is 1-888-726-6660 and remembers the viewers to bring something sharp in the conversation with Homer "Homer's popularity is in no small way [related] to how funny Dan <nowiki>[Castellaneta]</nowiki> is. He improvised 'D'oh' — it had just said 'annoyed grunt' in the script."

In another interview, this time with YourTVLink,<ref>[http://www.yourtvlink.com/the-simpsons-hits-a-homer-by-making-the-character-live YourTVLink]</ref> Al Jean remembers again about The Tonight Show "Early on, when we were doing 'The Simpsons Movie,' we had talked about Dan appearing live as Homer on things like 'The Tonight Show,' but the technology that existed then seemed too rudimentary, and you really couldn't get very much range with the animation. So, John Frink — one of our writers — was doing an episode about improvisation and he said, 'Why don't we try having Homer live at the end?'

And some more details about the program used to make Homer go live: "We checked into (the technical aspect), and it's greatly improved. Some guys at Fox Sports, working in tandem with Adobe, have come up with a (computer) program that I think is pretty convincing. It's going to be Homer taking questions on the phone and talking live ... and we're doing it because we can."

Then he talks about how Dan Castellaneta's movements will work live. "We don't know what he's going to say, but there's no one better to be doing this. Motion capture (with the character mirroring the actor's movements) is really the key to it, and the improvements in it have made this possible."

And at the end he talked about how the process will be permanent in the show's history, "There'll be baseball games that Homer could talk about, and developments on the political scene also would seem likely that day. We won't really know what's going to happen until it happens, but there will be only three minutes for it. It's a new process, so I didn't think you could do a full show with it, I think people would get tired of it, so three minutes is an optimal length." Al Jean remembers to the callers that will go live that "You'll be in the show forever, because it's going into syndication that way. We're not going to change it."

[[Comic Book Guy]] bought a video tape of The Radioactive Man Christmas Special! from [[eBay]].

== Plot ==
{{Ch|Radioactive Man}} welcomes the [[Superior Squad]] to this year's holiday extravaganza. [[Plasmo]] senses that someone isn't supposed to be there. He discovers that [[Fallout Boy]] is trying to sneak in by hiding in a box of fragile ornaments. Fallout Boys tell them that he never gets invited. [[Major Mollusk]] tells him that sidekicks are not allowed. Fallout Boy is depressed because [[Santa Claus]] never answered his letters, nor is he invited to the party. {{Ch|Joe Namath}} comes and wishes them all a merry Christmas. [[Broadway Joe]], the photographer, takes a picture of the group, but shortly afterwards it is revealed that Broadway Joe is really [[Dr. Crab]]. When he photographed them, he fired an anti-joy ray which takes all of their holiday cheer and turns it into despair. He will use this to steal Christmas. Plasmo tries to stop Dr. Crab but his spells don't work, because without Christmas cheer their powers won't work. Dr. Crab gives a Christmas gift to Radioactive Man, but he does not want it, and Dr. Crab realizes that he has succeeded.

Dr. Crab takes the group to his lair, where [[Santa Claus]] is also located. Dr. Crab says that his base is undectable and no one can find them here, which proves to be wrong when [[Bug Mom]] passes by, because she has a sixth sense about these things. She wanted to give [[Bug Boy]] a Christmas kiss. Fallout Boy is angry because no one can take away his love of Christmas, and he breaks the chain in which he is trapped and knocks down Dr. Crab, destroying his anti-joy ray. The group thanks Fallout Boy and wants to repay him. Fallout Boy tells them that he wants to be at the party next year, to which Radioactive Man replies that they will see about that. The group wishes the viewers a merry Christmas.

According to [[Comic Book Guy]], the special was a disaster and those associated with it pretended that never happened, like the ''Lost'' finale. Rumor has it that [[Morty Mann]] collected every copy and incinerated them all. After Comic Book Guy saw the video he said it was terrible, but the absolute best holiday special ever. He says that it makes the ''Ewok Christmas Special'' look like ''Citizen Kane''. He thinks he could mock it for days, and a new holiday tradition for him is born.

== Plot ==
In a dream, [[Bart]] helps {{Ch|Radioactive Man}} in various ways, but when the latter proposes to [[Gloria Grand]], the former thinks it's disgusting. After that, [[Edna]]'s yelling wakes him up. Edna then tells Bart it's time to study, but little does she know the latter snuck a comic into his textbook. When school's out, [[Bart]] talks to his friends that he is worried about how Radioactive Man will change. [[Martin]] believe that things will get better and guesses that the change is [[Fallout Boy]] is becoming the new Radioactive Man. At home, [[Bart]] watches the news to see [[Kent]] hand an interview with [[Krusty]] in hopes of learning the change, but Krusty won't give the answer away. After this [[Homer]] explains to Bart that this isn't the first time something like this happened. He then proceeds to tell Bart about the first time that Radioactive Man fever was in Springfield, it was a time when he was Bart's age, when they did a Radioactive Man TV show. [[Lisa]] think Bart would protest the change if he hates it, but he reminds Lisa that he does not know what the change is. So Lisa tells him to protest the "News Blackout" and let the company that publishes the comics know that he and the rest of his friends have the right to know the change.

At the publishing company Krusty is happy because [[Lindsey Naegle]] has managed to get all of [[Springfield]] talking about Radioactive Man. Meanwhile, the receptionist gets visited by Bart, [[Milhouse]] and [[Martin]] but they are not admitted because they don't have an appointment, but they still manage to sneak in. They begin to sneak into the office and first find [[The Lesion of Super Heroes|a new Itchy & Scratchy comic]], which they read before they overhear three authors who are proposing to replace the usual heroes with "several crummy characters no one cares about". The boys cannot resist any longer, so they break in but they are discovered by Krusty. They give him a petition and tell Krusty that everyone wants to know what will happen, and he admits that perhaps he made a mistake by not telling anyone the change, he thanks them for their business with him. Then they get kicked out with gifts. Bart, Milhouse and Martin are happy, they made a difference. Krusty then ask to his employees to directly drive out people who have no right to be there, he is tired of disgruntled fans.

The boys then read some previous editions and try to guess what the change is. Bart then realizes that the new comic comes out that today, and decide to go to the [[Android's Dungeon]] to buy it.

== Plot ==
In a dream, [[Bart]] helps {{Ch|Radioactive Man}} in various ways, but when the latter proposes to [[Gloria Grand]], the former thinks it's disgusting! after that, [[Edna]]'s yelling wakes him up. Edna then tells Bart it's time to study, but little does she know the latter snuck a comic into his textbook. When school's out, [[Bart]] talks to his friends that he is worried about how Radioactive Man will change! [[Martin]] believe that things will get better and guesses that the change is [[Fallout Boy]] is becoming the new Radioactive Man. At home, [[Bart]] watches the news to see [[Kent]] hand an interview with [[Krusty]] in hopes of learning the change, but Krusty won't give the answer away. After this [[Homer]] explains to Bart that this isn't the first time something like this happened. He then proceeds to tell Bart about the first time that Radioactive Man fever was in Springfield, it was a time when he was Bart's age, when they did a Radioactive Man TV show. [[Lisa]] think Bart would protest the change if he hates it, but he reminds Lisa that he does not know what the change is. So Lisa tells him to protest the "News Blackout" and let the company that publishes the comics know that he and the rest of his friends have the right to know the change.

At the publishing company Krusty is happy because [[Lindsey Naegle]] has managed to get all of [[Springfield]] talking about Radioactive Man! Meanwhile, the receptionist gets visited by Bart, [[Milhouse]] and [[Martin]] but they are not admitted because they don't have an appointment, but they still manage to sneak in. They begin to sneak into the office and first find [[The Lesion of Super Heroes|a new Itchy & Scratchy comic]], which they read before they overhear three authors who are proposing to replace the usual heroes with "several crummy characters no one cares about". The boys cannot resist any longer, so they break in but they are discovered by Krusty! They give him a petition and tell Krusty that everyone wants to know what will happen, and he admits that perhaps he made a mistake by not telling anyone the change, he thanks them for their business with him. Then they get kicked out with gifts. Bart, Milhouse and Martin are happy, they made a difference. Krusty then ask to his employees to directly drive out people who have no right to be there, he is tired of disgruntled fans.

The boys then read some previous editions and try to guess what the change is. Bart then realizes that the new comic comes out that today, and decide to go to the [[Android's Dungeon]] to buy it.

Several Disney characters are lined up to enter [[Moe's Tavern]], where {{w|Maleficent}} is checking the guest list to enter, and [[Homer]] is complaining he's not in the list, however when [[Goofy]] appears, he forces him to be his +1.

At the Tavern, [[Darth Vader]] is drinking a beer, [[Doctor Strange]] is playing pool, [[Frozen|Elsa]] is creating some ice in a bucket that a [[Fantasia]]'s broom is filling with beer, while {{W|Buzz Lightyear}} and {{w2|The Mandalorian|character}} are having an arm wrestling contest, that Buzz loses, and [[Moe]] thinks that [[Donald Duck]] is choking, so [[Barney]] tries to do a Heimlich Maneuver on him.

At the table, Homer and Goofie are discussing, while {{w|Seven Dwarfs|Happy}} is complaining how the party stinks before complaining to {{w|Seven Dwarfs|Grumpy}}, and they get divided by [[Lisa]] who come to the Tavern to collect Homer, that gets his beer struck by [[BB-8]], but cheers the place up with a song about [[Disney+]].

After the song, [[Mickey Mouse]]'s shadow appear over the door to the Tavern, overjoying everyone as the boss was arriving, but [[Bart]] appears instead, dressed as him, telling them to get back to work, and dragging Goofy away, while Barney drags Homer the other way.

== Plot ==
Homer accidently discovers his old 'Mr. Plow' jacket while searching for a month-old meatloaf in the closet. [[Gil]] is seen selling the plow to the [[Comic Book Guy]] where he admits he doesn't work there. Gil sells the plow to the Comic Book Guy for 100$. Krusty buys the plow from the Comic Book Guy for a thousand dollars, and [[Reverend Lovejoy]] thought he could melt it and sell the scrap metal to the Catholics for crucfixes. [[Snake]] steals the plow and Reverend Lovejoy's plans are ruined. [[Groundskeeper Willie]] gives Snake ten grand for the plow. [[Otto]] drives home in it, claiming he 'better get home before I forget where it is'. [[Chief Wiggum]] cites Otto for driving 90 miles an hour against traffic on top of the median strip backwards with a broken tail light in a snow plow. [[Ralph Wiggum]], Chief Wiggum's son, drives the plow out of the impound lot while singing the Speed Racer theme song and crashes into [[Hans Moleman]]'s house. Hans Moleman drives to the [[Springfield DMV]] where [[Selma Bouvier]] and her sister drive home in the plow, with Ralph hiding in the back seat. Ralph gets thrown out when he asked if they were his 'mommies'. Fat Tony takes the plow from them, saying he would kill their lizard, [[Jub Jub]]. Fat Tony throws it in the ocean when the [[Sea Captain]] pulls it out, [[Herman Hermann]] buys it, and tries to get [[Abe Simpson]] to buy it, but Abe recognises it as a vintage Komatsu plow and remembers how it made him so angry for plowing away his wounded friends during the Second World War. He blows it up with a tank.

== At Home for a While ==
Back in mid-March, I got an infection in my left hand and needed surgery to clean it out. I was in hospital for a few days recuperating while they decided what antibiotics to put me on. I'm now back home, but need to make daily return visits for bandage changes and further antibiotics treatments. I will be off work until mid-April when the treatments should be finished. Fortunately, I have plenty of paid sick leave accumulated! While my hand is bandaged, I don't have full use of it, so I wouldn't be very effective at work, anyway. ::Hand updates: My last antibiotics treatment was April 10. Lab tests at that point indicated that the infection was gone. My last hospital dressing change was on the 15th. At that time, the doctor examined my hand and said that a simple over-the-counter bandage would be sufficient to protect the surgical wound while it finished healing. I went back to work on Monday the 18th. :Another year on, the strength and range of motion in my left hand are mostly all back. There's still some stiffness and numbness in my ring and pinkie fingers due to the scar tissue, but it's slowly improving. I do occasionally lose my grip on things in my left hand, which my doctor has said is most likely due to some nerves being disrupted (but not severed), so my hand ends up glitching once in a while. I'm still doing stretching exercises to work on the scar tissue and my hand still often hurts at night, so I have a prescription for painkillers to calm it down if it's distracting me from falling asleep. In my experience, though, the way it really works is that the painkillers screw up the rest of my brain enough so that I don't give a darn about the hand hurting.
:Keeping in mind the big picture, while I was in the hospital I got checked out from stem to stern and was diagnosed with high blood pressure and Type 2 diabetes. I'm now on medications (and insulin) and my blood pressure and blood sugar are both much better than before. "Bummer", some may say, but I say there are a lot worse ways to find out about those—I could have learned of the blood pressure by having a stroke and/or the diabetes by my eye doctor discovering irreparable retinal damage. Neither of those came to pass, and I have since had an eye exam where the doctor had a thorough look and found no diabetes-related damage, so in the big picture I'm grateful for what happened to my hand. Two erratic fingers are a small price to pay for having better health at 50 than I did at 35! ::Frinkiac is great if you want to find images. Just copy and paste into Paint and save as a png. pngs scale better. There's less of a drop in quality with them when viewing them as a thumbnail. Hi, I've noticed that Simpsons Wikia has been stealing content from us again. The user LucienTP has taken the plots that LetsPlayNintendo wrote for The Serfsons and Springfield Splendor. It's from the episode "[[King-Size Homer]]" which means a good-quality screencap will be on Frinkiac. I would do the following:
#Go to frinkiac.com
#Search for rag on a stick (No quotes needed. Image searches on Frinkiac are based on script / dialogue.)
#Select and enlarge the image I wanted
#Copy & paste it from the site into a graphics editor (even something primitive like Windows Paint will work)
#Save it as a .PNG file (best for image quality for the wiki)
#Upload it to the wiki (use some care in naming, see below)
#Select the "episode or movie screenshot" licensing type
#Save the file
#Edit the licensing section, change the info so it reads <nowiki>{{Image Fox|King-Size Homer}}</nowiki> (you will need to add the vertical bar and the episode title)
#Save the file again
#Add appropriate categories. "Images - Characters" and "Images - Bart" would be the ones for this image.

There is already an image of fat Bart from the episode, but it's not the same as the one in your Google search. Just make sure you don't duplicate the name of the image we already have.

At the start of the story, Apu throws out some mutant pickled eggs into the dumpster near the Kwik-E-Mart. Off-screen, they go onto a rampage and cause the majority of Springfield to go crazy, as shown by the news report [misidentified as the Penalizer]. Confusingly, the follow-up report features a clip with Skinner (as The Penalizer) running in the background, despite the "evidence of its appearance" dialogue referring to the eggs, not Seymour.

It isn't until Bart is shown the Hypno-Coin by Willie, the Penalizer ends up being revealed as Skinner's alter ego, mainly to search for the "missing" section of the school flag, but it appears other people are continuing to think the mutant eggs are a breed of "Penalizers" as the police chasing one of the mutant eggs is shown in the background. I have a feeling you should make a page on the mutant eggs based solely on my information, as I believe they were causing the rampage the news report was about, not the Penalizer. After a failed tryout The Be Sharps heard [[Barney Gumble]]'s good singing and decided to have him join the band. They then had a concert at The Statue of Liberty and won a [[Grammy Awards|Grammy Award]]. Afterwards they became unpopular, with Barney dating a Japanese conceptual artist, and split up. The Be Sharps also had various products. One was a foam squirter that got recalled because anyone who ate the foam would get poisoned and would die. Homer replied "Anyone who ate it deserved to die" at the same time which Bart was eating it. They also released two albums, one self-titled and the other titled Bigger Than Jesus. The self-titled was seen at the flea market in the beginning of the episode catching Bart's eye and igniting the plot for the episode.
