[[Springfield]]'s bicentenial is coming up, to celebrate, the town prepares a parade. [[Lisa]], decides to enter a report about [[Jebediah Springfield]] into a school contest. To research for the report, she visits the history museum, where she meets [[Hollis Hurlbut]], a renowned scholar who specializes in researching [[Jebediah]]. Meanwhile, [[Homer]] tries out for the position of town crier in the upcoming parade. [[Flanders]], who was originally town crier, gracefully gives up the position and [[Homer]] takes over. [[Lisa]] finds a rolled up peice of parchment concealed in [[Jebediah]]'s
flute. The parchment reveals that [[Jebediah]] was an evil pirate who fought with [[George Washington]]. [[Lisa]] reveals this to [[Homer]] and they set off to reveal the truth. No one believes them, so they set out to dig up [[Jebediah]]'s corpse. [[Hans Sprungfeild]] had a silver prosthetic toungue. If they find the toungue, they prove that [[Jebediah]] was not the hero he was thought to be. When they dig up the corpse, they find no toungue. [[Homer]] is banned from the parade, and he and [[Lisa]] are shunned. Determined to find the toungue, Lisa goes back to the museum. There she finds that [[Hollis Hurlbut]] stole and hid the toungue to sheild the town from the truth. She goes to reveal to the town the truth, but is unable because the lie has brought everyone together.

== Plot ==
When Marge learns [[Springfield Elementary]] is the worst school in the state, she and Homer rent an apartment in the upscale [[Waverly Hills]] neighborhood so Bart and Lisa can attend a better school. When Lisa is ostracized by the popular girls at Waverly Hills, Bart uses his newly established bad boy image to impress the other students and increase Lisa’s popularity by telling everyone she is best friends with the pop star [[Alaska Nebraska]]. However, when Alaska Nebraska comes to town, Lisa is left wishing Bart had never opened his big mouth. Meanwhile, Homer moves into the new Waverly Hills apartment to make it look like someone is living there, and he quickly gets used to the bachelor lifestyle. Eventually, Lisa and Bart convince Marge and Homer to leave Waverly Hills even though Homer and Marge have been acting like they just met.

==Plot==
While out at a carnival on the South-Side Sea Port, Homer accidentally swallows a flaming stick (thinking it was a kabob) and burns his tongue to the point which he develops sensitive tasebuds, making him a "supertaster". This makes most of the food he eats burn his tongue, except cafeteria food Lisa brings home. He decides to come to Springfield Elementary to eat during lunch, embarissing Bart in the process.

He sits at a lunch table and meets a mother who's a "helicopter parent", who comes to school with her boy, Noah, and makes sure he does well. Homer observes how dumb Bart acts and how unpopular Lisa is and decides to help them out. He and Bart compete in the Plywood sculpture assignment, but the Washington Monument choice is too pathetic by Skinner's standards, so Homer goes for the hardest one of all, the "Wetminster Abbey" model. He also helps Lisa get into the in-crowd with the help of a popularity book and a cellphone cover party.

Homer sees that Bart will do doubt screw the project up and he offers to do it himself. He falls asleep and the ghosts that haunt the building advise him to let Bart do it, as he won't gain knowledge unless he does something. However, Homer moves in his sleep and demolishes his model. At the contest ceremony, Bart's model wins for looking like the only one who didn't have help from their parent Bart declines and reveals Homer did it and makes him stop messing with his life. Lisa tells him it also, as she doesn't like being cool.

Meanwhile, Marge discovers a sauna in their basement and loves it, keeping it to herself. He becomes so relaxed that she is dazed when Homer tells her of the kids' problems. Later, after Homer fails as a parent, Marge reveals it to him and, unbeknownst to Homer, uses his beer to pour on the rocks.

Dangerous Curves" is the fifth episode of the twentieth season of The Simpsons. It aired November 9, 2008. On the fourth of July, the Simpsons take a road trip to a cabin in the woods, where a series of flashbacks show Homer and Marge in their dating and married years, including how they first met Ned and Maude.

== Synopsis ==
On the fourth of July, the Simpson family takes a road trip to visit a cabin in the woods. While driving there, they pick up hitchhikers Squeaky Voiced Teen and his girlfriend, Beatrice. Staring at the two younger teens, Homer to flashes back to how he and Marge were, in their dating years.

In their dating years, a young Homer and Marge are on bikes, riding down the highway. Homer and Marge attempt to kiss while biking, but Homer crashes his and Marge's bike, prompting them to walk on foot, lost. Ned and Maude Flanders, who are driving by, notice them as hitchhikers and pick them up. Ned and Maude shock Homer and Marge by revealing the two of them are married (and since 2:00 pm that day); Ned attempts to convince Homer not to have any sexual activities with Marge, much to Homer's discomfort. Back in the present, Homer becomes quite annoyed with the Squeaky Voiced Teen's kissing Beatrice, which prompts him to go into another flashback, in Homer and Marge's married years.

In their married years, Homer and Marge are more stressed. After their car breaks down, they head to a nearby home to borrow their phone. The house owner, Alberto, is having a party, and he invites Homer and Marge inside. Wishing to take a break, they accept. Marge becomes annoyed with Homer's behavior at the party, and becomes enraged after seeing him flirt with a beautiful woman named Sylvia. After Homer knocks Marge into the pool and starts a sushi fight, Marge regrets marrying Homer. In the present, the family drops of the Squeaky Voiced Teen and Beatrice at a cabin, while the Simpsons head off to their cabin.

Homer and Marge flash back to their dating years, where the Flanders' dropped them off at the very same cabins they are at today. Flanders manages to successfully convince Homer and Marge to sleep in separate rooms, much to their disappointment. In their married years, Marge leaves Alberto's party with him to run to the cabins. Similarly, Homer runs off with Sylvia to those very same cabins. Not wanting each other to discover their own affairs, Marge hides Alberto in a box and has Homer put it outside; Homer, not knowing Alberto is in there, puts Sylvia inside as well. Alberto and Sylvia fall in love while Homer and Marge rekindle their love. In the present, Homer and Marge meet Alberto and Sylvia, now married with a child of their own, and learn of each other's affairs Disgusted that the most important moment in their early years of marriage was based on lies and deceit, Homer regrets marrying Marge and, trapped in a ball of their luggage which happened while unpacking, has Alberto and Sylvia's child roll him away from Marge into the woods.

Back in their dating years, Ned tells Homer that if he were married to Marge, he could make all the love to her he wants. Taking a walk through the woods with Marge, Homer carves the message "Marge + Homer 4ever" into a tree. In the present, Homer sees this message on the same tree and decides there is still time to save his marriage. He attempts to peel the bark off the tree and show the message to Marge; Marge suddenly arrives to find Homer and accidentally knocks the tree, which had severely weakened roots, over a ravine. Homer clings onto the bark and refuses to let go, but Marge tells him that their love for each other is within themselves, not in the bark. Homer falls down the ravine toward the river below, still holding onto the bark and peeling it all off the tree, with Marge falling after. They stop falling when the line of bark stops, allowing them to be saved by Bart and Lisa in their pedal car, which Bart had accidentally driven into the river.

Toucan Sam, Trix, Cap'n Crunch and Count Chocula are all featured on Bart's "Cereal Killer" game; they are, respectively, the mascots for Fruit Loops, Trix, Cap'n Crunch and Count Chocula breakfast cereals. The non-linear plot showing various points in Homer and Marge's relationship is very similar to the 1967 film Two for the Road, starring Audrey Hepburn and Albert Finney. During the limbo scene, the song "Limbo Rock" by Chubby Checker can be heard in the background, along with Homer singing it.

==Synopsis==
The first scene of this episode features a psychologically fueled dialogue between [[Bart Simpson|Bart]] and [[Homer Simpson|Homer]] about the inner workings of the mind. Bart soon falls asleep, but is unconvinced with Homer's explanation: "What is mind? No matter. What is matter? Never mind."

The episode's second scene features [[Marge Simpson|Marge]] telling [[Lisa Simpson|Lisa]] to have a good sleep and to not let the bed bugs bite. This, however, concerns Lisa, whose reservations are shown in a panicking form.

The third scene of this episode features Marge singing [[Maggie Simpson|Maggie]] "Rock-a-bye Baby", while Maggie is imagining the real-life scenario of the bough of a tree breaking. She falls into the river and Maggie is nervous by the end.

Soon, Homer and Marge are in bed. As they kiss, the three children walk into the door, and wave their arms frantically. They climb into Homer and Marge's bed, before falling asleep, each closing his or her eyes in turn, with Maggie last.

It's the 75th Aniversary of [[Itchy and Scratchy]] and [[Bart]], [[Lisa]] and [[Homer]] go to the Itchy and Scratchy Parade. Bart follows it to "Bum Town", where he meets a hobo named [[Chester]], who claims that he created Itchy and cartoon violence. When Bart and Chester try to prove it to the C.E.O of Itchy and Scratchy, their film get burned up. They take it to court, and Chester wins. Then, Itchy and Scratchy Studios loose all their money in court and Bart feels guilty that he just killed Itchy and Scratchy forever. He and Lisa try to solve the problem, but are shocked when they find out the problem was solved, along with other problems, by two kids [[Lester]] and [[Eliza]].

==Plot==
Krusty the Clown's show is losing ratings so they decided to put a mini-series in to boots them up. They decides to make it a children's news program and the procuders look twoards Springfield Elementary for staff. Meanwhile, Wille takes away Bart's skateboard for messing up the leaves he just raked and as revenge, Bart fills Wille's shack with creamed corn, destroying it, leaving Wille homeless. Lisa is chosen for head anchor and has to pick the rest of the staff. Marge forces her to make him part of the show. During the first show, Bart upstages Lisa with his over-the-top Sports report. Linsey Neagle notices this and makes him co-anchor.

Meanwhile, Homer goes to the Kwik-E-Mart to see that while Apu is healing from an injury, he has a helper monkey to run the store. Homer is perplexed by the idea and goes to by one himself, calling it Mojo. However, the monkey becomes as big of a slob as Homer is and Homer has to give him back to the store when Mojo gets exptremly sick from beer.

Bart overhears a conversation between Lisa dnt eh producer where he hears her call him "dum,b". To prover her wrong, he goes to Kent Brockmen for advice to help him with his report. Kent shows him some of his emotional stories and Bart airs his own segment, Bart's People, on the next show. Everyone who watches is touched, but Lisa sees through him and knows he's doesn't mean the words he says, so she tracks down Wille and tells him about a poor man in the dump. When Bart does his live report, Wille attempts to kill him, but Lisa comes to save Bart. They see their fued will get them nowhere and the decide to retool the show to make it better, but it ends up cancelled and replaced with "Mattel and Mars Bar Quick-Energy Choc-o-bot Hour".

"'''He Loves to Fly and He D'ohs'''" is the season premiere of The Simpsons’ nineteenth season and first aired on September 23, 2007. [[Homer]] gets to fly in [[Mr. Burns]]'s private jet and likes it so much that he decides never to fly commercial again. He tries to find a job that involves flying in a corporate jet, and hires a life coach named [[Colby Krause]] to assist him with his goal.

==Plot==
While on a shopping trip to the Springfield mall, [[Montgomery Burns|Mr. Burns]] finds a penny in a water fountain and reaches in to grab it; while doing so he falls in. The rushing water nearly drowns him, but [[Homer Simpson|Homer]] arrives and pulls him out of the water, saving Mr. Burns's life. To reward him, Mr. Burns offers to take Homer out to dinner. Homer says he likes Chicago deep dish pizza, so Mr. Burns takes him to Chicago on his private plane. On the plane, Homer is treated with luxury and gets serenaded by Lionel Richie.

After returning from Chicago, Homer tells [[Marge Simpson|Marge]] that he is tired of being a normal person and becomes depressed. Marge decides to help Homer and hires him a life coach named Colby Kraus, who will help with Homer's dream. Colby starts right away in his treatment with Homer by videotaping his every move. At the bowling alley and after watching Homer’s daily habits for a few days, Colby realizes that bowling is the one thing Homer is good at and enjoys doing. He instructs Homer to wear his bowling shoes everywhere he goes to help instill confidence in everything he does. The bowling shoes work, Homer becomes a new man, and as a result he receives numerous new job offers. Homer decides to only go for an interview at Handyman’s Choice Copper Tubing due to the fact that he would be required to fly in the company jet as part of his new job.

However, the [[List of recurring characters from The Simpsons#Rich Texan|Rich Texan]] does not hire him, but Homer decides not to tell his family and pretends to go to work every day, although he is actually just going to the local Krusty Burger. The next day, Bart's class stops at the Krusty Burger after a field trip and Bart is shocked is discover Homer sitting at a booth alone. Homer comes clean and explains to Bart that his job interview didn’t go so well when his interviewer, the Rich Texan, discovered that Homer knows nothing about copper tubing. Bart convinces Homer that he should tell Marge what has happened and Homer calls her from a pay phone. But when Homer hears Marge’s happy voice he can’t bring himself disappoint her and tell her the truth about his "new" job. Instead he concocts a story about him having to fly on the “company” jet for work and instructs Marge to meet him at the airport in an hour. Homer pays a Marine to fly him into the air, so he can tell Marge up in the air with luxury so she would not get upset. Once in the air, Marge can’t believe all the luxuries the private jet has to offer. Homer sits Marge down to tell her the truth, but just before he can, the plane endures turbulence. Homer and Marge head into the cockpit to see what the problem is, only to discover that the pilot had passed out. Homer shoves the pilot aside and takes hold of the jet’s controls. Marge pulls out her cell phone and calls Colby Kraus and frantically asks for his guidance. Thanks to Colby's motivation, Homer manages to land the plane and safely on the ground. When they land, Homer explains to Marge that flying in private jets is simply too dangerous and that he plans to go back to work at the Power Plant.<ref name="officialsite"/>

==Plot==
In the opening sequence, Marge talks about Halloween being "last week" and suddenly various logos pop up on the screen, including the mini logos for ''American Idol'', Fox Sports, ''Prison Break'', ''Cops'', ''House'' and ''24''. Marge ends up killing several miniature characters that pop up from the logos and bakes them into bread, which she serves to her family. When she cuts it, the other characters' body parts are shown to spell out the titles and opening credits.

===E.T., Go Home===
Marge tells [[Bart Simpson|Bart]] to get something from the shed in the garden and as he does so, he finds [[Kang and Kodos|Kodos]] there. Kodos (explicitly referred to as male in this episode) states his desire to return home and that he had come to Earth in peace, though he hints that he was really sent there to destroy mankind. Bart, however, is oblivious to this, and decides to help him return home. [[Lisa Simpson|Lisa]] arrives and is happy with the alien in their home and decides to help Bart and Kodos obtain devices that he can use to contact his home planet, though this appears to be part of her diabolical plan. It does not take Homer long to realize that Bart and Lisa keeping an alien in the house, but he and Marge decide to let them help Kodos anyway. When NASA agents arrive at the Simpsons home, the family distracts them while Bart sneaks Kodos out. However, when Kodos kills several agents along the way, Bart begins to think Kodos's intentions are not as friendly as he was led to believe. Finally, Kodos reveals that the devices he had the Simpsons collect were for a portal-generating device so that others of his planet can come to Earth and wipe out the human race. When the aliens invade, a brief war is waged, though this time Earth has the upper hand. When Bart is given the option to board a helicopter and shoot Kodos, Bart inexplicably decides to spare his life, though Homer shoots him instead. In the end, Earth emerges victorious and the world is saved. The Simpsons are invited to see Kodos's dissection, where they reflect that since Kodos was an evil-looking alien who turned out to be bad, it must be good to judge a book by its cover. It is revealed that Kodos is still very much alive, but is smothered by Homer with a pillow.

===Mr. and Mrs. Simpson===
In a spoof of ''Mr. and Mrs. Smith'', Homer and Marge appear to attend marriage counseling and recount a brief moment of tension between them. In the flashback, when arriving home, Homer locks himself in the bathroom and communicates on a hidden flat screen television, where it is revealed Homer is an assassin assigned to eliminate news reporter, [[Kent Brockman]], by order of Homer's boss, [[Charles Montgomery Burns|Mr. Burns]]. Before he leaves, he tells Marge he will be coming home late and makes up a crazy excuse; Marge also states that she is busy and makes up an equally farfetched excuse. When Homer prepares to shoot Brockman at his rooftop party from a faraway platform, a woman with large blonde hair (who Homer dubs "the Mystery Skank") however, stabs Brockman in the chest, killing him instead. After Homer attempts to repeatedly shoot the woman (ending up with several civilian deaths), he manages to shoot the wig off her head, revealing Marge, also an assassin. Arriving home, the two avoid each other's eyes, and Marge makes an excuse for the blonde wig. Not long after, the two attempt to kill one another with various weapons such as grenades, rifles, and a minigun, all the while arguing why the other was an assassin. After killing [[Clancy Wiggum|Chief Wiggum]] with a crossbow, the two realize they are more attracted to one another when they kill someone together. Thus, they soon begin having sex over Chief Wiggum's body. Returning to the episode's beginning, they both realiz that they did not need any marriage counseling, but to kill people together. In the end, it turns out that they were not talking to a marriage counselor, but to [[Seymour Skinner|Principal Skinner]] regarding [[Bart Simpson|Bart's]] misbehavior. Both Homer and Marge turn a blind eye to Bart's misbehavior and simultaneously shoot Skinner instead.

===Heck House===
On Halloween night, [[Bart]], [[Lisa]], [[Milhouse Van Houten|Milhouse]] and [[Nelson Muntz|Nelson]] become frustrated by how some of the locals refuse to give them candy. Deciding to honor the true meaning of "trick-or-treat," they begin to pull pranks on everyone. Soon, however, their pranks turn into vandalism and everyone begins to complain. [[Ned Flanders]] then offers his services to teach them a lesson and fashions the church into a "heck house." This attracts their attention and they decide to give it a try. Ned tries to simulate what could happen to them for their sins through the use of crude roleplaying, but they scoff at his attempts. Ned then turns to God to give him the power to scare them straight and subsequently transforms into [[Satan|the Devil]], sending the kids to Hell. == Plot ==
The Simpsons and [[Van Houten family]] are at a picnic, where an identically-dressed [[Kirk Van Houten|Kirk]] and [[Luann Van Houten|Luann]] claim they have an announcement to make. Much to the adoration of the party, Kirk and Luann announce they are to be [[A Milhouse Divided|re-married]].

At the Simpsons home, [[Homer Simpson|Homer]] and [[Marge Simpson|Marge]] are getting ready to go to the wedding. After a casual remark from Homer, Marge is shocked to find Homer truly does not know the color of her eyes. Until Homer remembers, Marge makes a solemn vow not to let Homer see her eyes until he knows their color; causing an uncoordinated Marge to cover her eyes.

While the Van Houtens are on their honeymoon, Milhouse stays over at the Simpsons, proud and happy his parents are back together. While on the boat Kirk carries Luann down the hallway to their private room, though the boat begins swinging from side to side, so violently that the two fall off the boat. When inside the Simpson house, Milhouse goes to answer the door. Two coastguard members sadly inform him that Kirk and Luann are lost at sea, and possibly dead. Milhouse soon becomes depressed and truly convinced his parents are dead.

Though Marge invites Milhouse to stay for as much as he likes, Milhouse replies to everything with more depression, especially after another coastguard member arrives to blatantly tell him they cut the search off early. Finally, after sucking upon [[Maggie Simpson|Maggie]]'s bottle, he discovers he truly is the "world's oldest baby", and promises himself that he will soon become a true man.

Meanwhile, Homer continues making fruitless attempts at looking for traces of hints that can help him discover the color of Marge's eye including photos. He soon finds out there are not any photos of Marge in the house besides their wedding album. After failing to open it, he discovers there is a lock. When asking Marge for the password to the combination, she tells him it is their anniversary, though he forgets that also.

At school, [[Martin Prince|Martin]] points out a mysterious figure in the shadow of a large oak tree, though when closely scanned, it is revealed to be Milhouse. Coming out of the shadows, Milhouse's new behavior and attitude (gloomy, mellow, and poetic) grabs the attention of the girls at school, including [[Lisa Simpson|Lisa]]. [[Nelson Muntz|Nelson]] refuses to punch Milhouse as he feels there is no longer any point. Finally, it is shown Milhouse is usurping [[Bart Simpson|Bart]]'s popularity. At lunch, a lonely Bart sits by himself at a table, where [[Ralph Wiggum]] even tells him he's "embarrassing himself". When leaving the school bus, Sherri begins flirting with Milhouse, causing a desperate Bart to try [[Krumping]]. After no one laughs at him, a miserable Bart heads up to his room, ignoring Marge's invite to continue Krumping with her.

In his room, Bart is reading the "Daily Fourth Gradian", showing in the popularity scale, Bart is steadily decreasing. After concluding that Milhouse with family would be happy again he remembers that Milhouse gets Danish butter cookies every christmas from [[Solvang, California|Solvang]], California. He decides to connect Milhouse with his Danish Uncle Norbert van Houten. Waiting at the airport, Uncle Norbert, dressed like [[Indiana Jones]] (including hat and [[bullwhip]]) arrives by his own [[biplane]], and asks to be referred to as "Zack", the proud [[Danish]] van Houten with a hatred towards the [[Dutch]] van Houten. After Zack arrives to get Milhouse from the school, Milhouse's popularity escalates even higher.

Homer continues to search for the color of Marge's eyes and when [[Abraham Simpson|Abe]] notices his desperation, he reminds Homer of a song he sung to Marge during the early strands of their relationship. After remembering a portion of the song contained Marge's eye color, Homer begins to sing out loud in the air, though when he does not remember the last word (being Marge's eye color) Homer begins to give up, until Marge, who is standing at the door, remembers the song and proudly removes her sun glasses, revealing a bright, beautiful hazel shade to her eyes, concluding Homer's song of "a beautiful, deep shade of hazel".

An angry Bart soon discovers Milhouse plans to fly away in an [[hot air balloon]] with Zack. After convincing from Lisa, Bart realizes that he loves and thus will miss Milhouse. Milhouse, Zack, and Bart take off in the hot air balloon and come upon an island, where a very much alive Kirk and Luann plan escaping with a nature-made hang-glider. After flying, Kirk and Luann's hang-glider cuts the hot air balloon and soon, Milhouse re-unites with his parents. Zack states that he has already called for help and then gets into a fight with Kirk over their heritage (Danish and Dutch respectively).

==Plot==

While shopping at the [[The Android's Dungeon]], [[Milhouse Van Houten|Milhouse]] accidentally sheds a tear on a Wolverine comic book and blurs Wolverine's sideburns. For this, [[Comic Book Guy]] charges Milhouse twenty-five dollars. After [[Bart Simpson|Bart]] complains, Comic Book Guy tells him and the other child customers to go to a new comic book store, thinking his is the only one in town. To his surprise, a new comic book store, "Coolsville Comics & Toys", situated directly across the street from the Android's Dungeon has just opened.

All the children immediately depart the store and head towards Coolsville, where the store owner, a hip man named [[Milo]] immediately makes a good impression on the kids by giving them candy and inviting them for his grand opening. Upon entering, the children are astonished to see the store is not completely full of comic books, but also of video games and modern art, giving it a sophisticated arcade look. When [[Lisa Simpson|Lisa]] accidentally rips a page of a book, Milo merely tells her that the books are meant to be read and enjoyed.

The store begins attracting popularity, including those of [[Art Spiegelman]], [[Dan Clowes]], and [[Alan Moore]], who all visit for a book signing. Comic Book Guy's jealousy begins getting to him, so he begins to sabotage Milo's popularity by attempting to bribe the children with new ninja weapons, and outing that Milo has a girlfriend named Strawberry. After these ploys do not work, Comic Book Guy takes out a sword and demolishes Coolsville. He fails to destroy more after Art Spiegelman, Dan Clowes and Alan Moore subdue him.

After dropping Bart off at Coolsville, [[Marge Simpson|Marge]] compares herself to a cardboard standup of Wonder Woman, and is shocked to see how her physique compares unfavorably. Then Jimbo, Dolph, and Kearney start feeling sorry for Marge and start beating up each other because of their mothers' appearances. Marge promises to go to a gym and become slimmer. While exercising at a large and intense gym, Marge begins to struggle with the treadmill. She convinces herself that everyone else is struggling, although the other clients, including [[Miss Springfield]], [[Cookie Kwan]], [[Rainier Wolfcastle]], and [[Duffman]] are all using the treadmill with no problems. After being embarrassed from showering in a public shower, Marge wishes to make a gym for ordinary women.

When Comic Book Guy finally gives up, he sells the Android's Dungeon to Marge who creates ''Shapes'', a women-only workout center which immediately becomes a hit. Many women of [[Springfield]] comment on Marge's efforts, and she opens another location at an abandoned [[Krusty Burger]]. Soon, after an interview on ''[[Opal]]'', a now rich Marge becomes an international hit.

Homer and Marge go on a luxury vacation at a hotel where Homer meets a group of three jocks. They begin to convince Homer that Marge will soon dump him for a healthier man. The men give Homer a list of the stages Marge will go through before dumping him, which all start to happen. Later, Homer overhears Marge talking to a group of women about dumping something. Homer assumes it is him, although it is really Marge's purse.

Homer goes through various stages to gain a new look, including stomach staples and plastic surgery. When finished, Homer looks entirely different from his first appearance. In the result, Homer's appetite level has been significantly lower and tear ducts have been moved to his pectoral muscles. While [[Mayor Quimby]] begins rewarding Marge for her work with Shapes, Homer arrives in his new form, much to the shock and disgust of the town. Quimby soon orders the town to raise their pitchforks and attack Homer. Homer and Marge run to the top of Springfield's Notre Dame tower and Marge, saying she wants a trophy husband, deliberately pushes Homer off the tower. Homer wakes up in the hospital, back to his old self. Marge informs him that after he was knocked out, the surgeon called for her permission on the surgery, to which she said no, and that everything from Homer's blacking-out to his "death" was just a dream. She did have the doctor reverse Homer's stomach stapling, as she loves him no matter how he looks. The episode ends with Moore, Spiegelman, and Clowes watching Homer and Marge leave, and they mention that a meteor is headed for Earth, but soon forget at the mention of a convention for underpaid writers, to which to fly away to as the meteor is about to strike.

The episode begins with [[Homer Simpson|Homer]] and [[Bart Simpson|Bart]] going to Circuit City to buy a camera battery, but Homer ends up purchasing a TiVo because the batteries are free with the purchase of a TiVo. The family enjoys using the TiVo to watch TV without the commercials, especially [[Marge Simpson|Marge]], who happily skips over them. Late one night, Marge dreams of [[Keith Olbermann]] accusing her of not watching the commercials that pay for the TV shows, and convinces her to watch them. One such ad is for a new rib restaurant, owned by a cowboy named Wes Doobner, and the family decides to visit it for its grand opening.

When they arrive they find the building deserted, and the door locks behind them. The cowboy walks out of the shadows and reveals himself to be [[Sideshow Bob]]. Bob plans on killing the family by having a PC explode from an overheated battery. While gloating, Bob incorrectly quotes [[William Shakespeare]], and Lisa tells him to look up the correct phrase on the computer, which explodes in Bob's hands. Bob is then arrested and taken to prison.

During Bob's trial, Bob's father, Dr. Robert Terwilliger Sr. is brought to testify. He explains Bob has a rare heart condition, and also suggests that Sideshow Bob's psychosis is because of Bart. This convinces [[Springfield (The Simpsons)|Springfield]] that Bart is to blame, and they turn against him. Bart, however, tries to tell the town that they are being played by Bob. Bob then takes out a vial labeled nitroglycerin, which Bart snatches and throws out the window, thinking it an explosive. The vial was actually Bob's heart medication and he collapses on the floor and is pronounced dead.

Bob's family and many people of Springfield attend Bob's funeral. Bart shows little remorse for Bob despite [[Krusty the Clown|Krusty]] and the rest of Springfield grieving. After Bart speaks to Bob's brother Cecil, he decides to go to the Springfield Funeral to make peace with Bob's corpse before it gets cremated; however, Bob leaps out of the coffin, very much alive, and traps Bart in the coffin to be incinerated, all the while gloating about what he was accomplishing. Back at home, Lisa discovers that everything was an elaborate plot put together by Bob's entire family, explaining that he was put in a temporary death-like state with a special drug injection by his father. The Simpsons race to the parlor and narrowly save Bart from being burned alive by blinding Bob with unclaimed ashes. Bob asks Lisa how she knew of his scheme, and Lisa explains that she was suspicious that Bob's coffin had extra room for his large feet, which the family would not bother to put in if Bob was really dead. Bob and his family are arrested and taken in jail, where Bob imagines himself killing the Simpson family, and goes completely insane.

Donny soon gets [[Milhouse Van Houten|Milhouse]] and [[Nelson Muntz|Nelson]] to awe him. After Donny throws massive amounts of garbage at the school wall, Bart begins to feel he is losing popularity. While trying to imitate Donny, Bart ends up humiliating himself. Feeling his social rank amongst his peers slipping, Bart sulks.

Bart regains the respect and admiration of his peers, but when Skinner attempts to find who is responsible, Donny takes the blame for Bart's prank. Bart figures out that the snitch is Donny, who had given Skinner the Blue Vines. ==Plot==

The family attends a Springfield Isotopes game and Homer is immidently dissipointed with the results. He later goes to Moe's where he finds all his bar mates rooting for the Isotopes, as they seem to be actually winning. Homer quickly changes sides and starts cheering for the team. He, Carl, Lenny and Barney, all drunk, start driving around town and spot the baseball field at Springfield Elementary and start driving around the school ground sand indoors, wrecking it completly. The wreckage is shown on the news the following mornign and since no evidence was left by Homer, Cheif Wiggum places the blame squarley on the kids of the town. He solves this problem by placing a curfew on the town, stating children must be indoors by sundown, or else.

The kids are bored with their new-found curfew, escpecially at the TV selections. But they see a commercial on Tv for a movie called ''"The Bloodening"'' about creepy children who know all of the town's citizen's secrets. Bart and the other kids set out to see this movie, dispite it being shown after curfew. However, they are soon caught by Wiggum and are forced to clean his billboard.

To get even with the adults, the kids swipe a bunch of electronic devices, piece them together and form a working radio transmitter and start their own radio program called "We Know All Your Secrets". This show spreads the town's most well kept secrets acroos town and angers the adults even more. They track down the transmitter and nust them. They start to fight, leading into a song about kids and adults. The elderly citizens are woken up by the song and get enraged at the adults and kids. To get even with all of them, they vote on a new curfew, which places the kids and adults in their homes after sundown.

==Plot==

[[Homer Simpson|Homer]] must take the kids on a family outing in order to bond with them, however [[Lisa Simpson|Lisa]] gets to choose as [[Bart Simpson|Bart]] traded his turn for her dessert. They visit a national treasure museum sponsored by a cell phone company, Omnitouch. While there, Homer accidentally wrecks the Bill of Rights and is forced to repay his debts. He does so by letting the Omnitouch company build a cell phone tower on their house. Lisa comes home one day from to school to find that her room is gone and replaced wiht several machines to help power the tower. She gets really upset with Homer.

Now that her room is gone, Lisa is forced to stay in Bart's room, where he drives her crazy. Lisa snaps at her father, claiming that he doesn't know how it feels like to be treated the way she is. To get her cooled down, they visit a store run by a "hippie lady", who seels all different types of soothing items. She gives them some time in some water containers that will allow them to think. Lisa goes on a mental journey where she sees herself in the for of [[Snowball II]] and Homer. Homer, however, his not thinking and his container is taken away by repo men. His container falls off the truck and the Flanders find it, believe it's a coffin and burry it. His breaks though the ground and ends up in the ocean and washes upoin shore, where [[Ralph Wiggum]] reprts it to [[Cheif Wiggum|his dad]]. They bring it back to the store where they both get out and reunite. Lisa and Homer then go to the monster truck rally to spend time together.

Meanwhile, [[Marge Simpson|Marge]] starts hearing cell phone conversations over the baby monitor and starts using it for her own gossip gain. Bart and [[Millhouse]] decide to teach her a lesson by pretending to be robbers about to hide out in the house. When Millhouse opens the door, Marge smahses the baby monitor over his head. Having learn her lesson, she and Bart drag Millhouse's unconcious bidy inside and claim that "Bart hit him".

After church, [[Homer Simpson|Homer]] takes the family to a local store for Sunday brunch, by eating the free samples. After being stuffed into a freezer, by Homer who wants some ice cream, [[Lisa Simpson|Lisa]] is sick and is forced to miss school. In order to keep her mind off of school, [[Marge Simpson|Marge]] encourages Lisa to play one of Bart's video games. Lisa becomes addicted to playing the game "Dash Dingo". She claims to still be sick for many more days to play video games...until Marge stops believing her. When Lisa returns to school [[Miss Hoover]] has her take a test on ''The Wind in the Willows'', a book she was supposed to have read while she was sick. Lisa panics and excuses herself to go get a drink. While in the hallway she runs into [[Bart Simpson|Bart]] who refers her to the boy's restroom. There they meet [[Nelson Muntz|Nelson]] who is selling test answers. Lisa completes the tests with Nelson's answers and gets an A+++. Later she is summoned to Skinner's office. He tells her that her A+++ increased to the school's GPA allowing the school to recieve an assistance grant. Lisa admits to Skinner that she cheated. Both he and Chalmers agree that Lisa's cheating should be kept quiet so that they can still get the grant money. At the ceremony Lisa comes up to the stage and confesses to cheating. The comptroller decides to give the school the money anyway to reward Lisa's honesty. All the family, except for Bart, leave the auditorium. It is then revealed that the ceremony and the comptroller were fake. The real ceremony takes place without Lisa's knowledge and the real comptroller gives the school their grant money.

Meanwhile, Homer buys a small live lobster at the grocery store and fattens him up with plans to feed him to the entire family. When it's time to eat him, Homer has a change of heart and keeps the lobster as a pet naming him Mr. Pinchy. Homer gives Mr. Pinchy a hot bath only to have boiled him to death. He mourns Mr. Pinchy's death by eating the lobster by himself, as he feels "Pinchy would've wanted it that way."

One of the main references is to the book ''[[Wikipedia:The Wind in the Willows|The Wind in the Willows]]'', which is part of Lisa's assignment. The game she plays during her absence at school, ''Dash Dingo'', parodies the popular vidoe game series ''[[Wikipedia:Crash Bandicoot|Crash Bandicoot]]''. The design for the character had previsously appeared on a clothing store sign in "[[Lard of the Dance]]".

When attempting to call the family for dinner, [[Marge Simpson|Marge]] gets ticked off, as the family do not arrive. However, upon the threat that anyone who does not arrive goes without dessert, the family quickly scoot to the table. She then points out the family forgot to say grace before eating. [[Homer Simpson|Homer]] conducts grace while [[Maggie Simpson|Maggie]] innocuously looks around the room, and Marge comments that the family could do with learning manners. She concedes that dinner should not be eaten in silence and the family recommence communication. The episode ends when [[Bart Simpson|Bart]] turns the television on and they find out, rather morbidly, that a bus crash has killed 43 people.

[[Springfield]] adopts [[Marge Simpson]]'s proposal to launch a [[List of films in A Star is Buns|film festival]], and she is placed on a panel to judge each short film produced by the townspeople. Also on the panel is the New York City critic [[Jay Sherman]], who is of course the star of another animated series, The Critic. Sherman's stay at [[the Simpsons]]' house proves problematic, as [[Homer]] begins to suspect Marge does not really respect him. Thus, Marge gives him a spot on the panel, in place of [[Wikipedia:Martin Scorsese|Martin Scorsese]]. On the night of the festival, the panel comes into deadlock, between members bribed by the untalented contestant [[Mr. Burns|C. Montgomery Burns]] and those who honestly support [[Barney Gumble]]'s touching film about alcoholism, titled Pukahontas. Homer, originally supporting [[Hans Moleman]]'s film Man Getting Hit by Football (which only he liked just because it was a funny), is convinced to look into his heart and resolve the deadlock by voting for Barney's film.

==Plot==

The family attends a Springfield Isotopes game and Homer is immidently dissipointed with the results. He later goes to Moe's where he finds all his bar mates rooting for the Isotopes, as they seem to be actually winning. Homer quickly changes sides and starts cheering for the team. He, Carl, Lenny and Barney, all drunk, start driving around town and spot the baseball field at Springfield Elementary and start driving around the school ground sand indoors, wrecking it completly. The wreckage is shown on the news the following mornign and since no evidence was left by Homer, Cheif Wiggum places the blame squarley on the kids of the town. He solves this problem by placing a curfew on the town, stating children must be indoors by sundown, or else.

The kids are bored with their new-found curfew, escpecially at the TV selections. But they see a commercial on Tv for a movie called ''"The Bloodening"'' about creepy children who know all of the town's citizen's secrets. Bart and the other kids set out to see this movie, dispite it being shown after curfew. However, they are soon caught by Wiggum and are forced to clean his billboard.

To get even with the adults, the kids swipe a bunch of electronic devices, piece them together and form a working radio transmitter and start their own radio program called "We Know All Your Secrets". This show spreads the town's most well kept secrets acroos town and angers the adults even more. They track down the transmitter and nust them. They start to fight, leading into a song about kids and adults. The elderly citizens are woken up by the song and get enraged at the adults and kids. To get even with all of them, they vote on a new curfew, which places the kids and adults in their homes after sundown.

Millhouse is also scene watching the kids-TV show, ''Teletubies'', before switching to the movie commercial.

Homer ignores him and publicly begins his climbing. He is aided by two [[Sherpas]] as guides, who were instructed to drag Homer up the mountain as he slept. During one of these nights, Homer wakes up to discover that he was being secretly dragged, and fires the two Sherpas. After a loss of communication with Homer, many, including the "Power Sauce" representatives, predict Homer's death. Homer continues to climb, and when he believes he has reached the top, only sees that he has made it to a plateau of the mountain. Homer enters a small cave on the side of the mountain and discovers the frozen body of McAllister and his diary. Homer reads that it was actually his father that betrayed McAllister, and he even attempted to eat him. Ashamed of himself and his father, Homer climbs out and sticks his flag on the plateau causing mountain's peak to break off, therefore making the plateau Homer was standing on the peak. The episode was pitched and written by [[John Swartzwelder]]. The writing staff had to find a new angle for Homer's weight problems, as the idea had been used several times before. Homer continues to climb, and when he believes he has reached the top, only sees that he has made it to a plateau of the mountain. Homer enters a small cave on the side of the mountain and discovers the frozen body of McAllister and his diary. Homer reads that it was actually his father that betrayed McAllister, and he even attempted to eat him. Ashamed of himself and his father, Homer climbs out and sticks his flag on the plateau causing mountain's peak to break off, therefore making the plateau Homer was standing on the peak. The episode was pitched and written by [[John Swartzwelder]]. The writing staff had to find a new angle for Homer's weight problems, as the idea had been used several times before. In the scenes when the [[Sherpas]] were speaking, the show staff went to great lengths to find translations. Originally, the producers of the movie adaption of the book ''[[Into Thin Air]]'' were contacted to help. They were shocked at the trouble the staff was going to, as they replied that they had simply made up translations in the movie. The staff then had to consult various experts by telephone.<ref name="scully"/>

The authors of the book ''I Can't Believe It's a Bigger and Better Updated Unofficial Simpsons Guide'', Warren Martyn and Adrian Wood, thought well of the episode, calling it, "A quite charming little adventure in which, in an effort to impress Bart, Homer undertakes a dangerous adventure and comes through successfully. It's nice because just for once, to all intents and purposes, Homer actually succeeds in something."<ref name="bbc"/>

'''"Sunday, Curddy Sunday"''' is the twelth episode of the [[:Category:Season 10|tenth season]]. The episode features Homer taking his friends to the Supebowl.

==Plot==

When Springfield elementary takes a field trip to the local post office, they are offered some undelivered mail as favors. Bart ends up finding a savings book and gives it to Homer for his birthday. Homer is amazed at what the books has in store and "paints the town red" with the savings. He goes to get his tires balanced when he is conned by the mechanic that he can't leave with buying new tires. In the waiting room, he meets a travel agent, Wally Kogan, who was too suckered into getting new tires. They go to Moe's where they see a promo for the Superbowl on TV and yearn for it. Wally reveals he's got a charter bus headed there and if Homer can fill it up, he will get to go to the big game. Homer fills up his list and he, Wally, Bart and a group of Springfield males are off to the game.

Meanwhile, Marge and Lisa fight their boredom by playing with the "Vincent Price Magic Egg Kit". They soon discover that the box is "feet-less" and call up the company for replacements.

Once at the game, and after enjoying the pre-game fun, the gang goes to the entrance of the stadium only to find that their tickets are phoney (and are printed on some type of cracker). Bart then spots the Superbowl Halftime costumes and they sezie the oppertunity...to use them to knock the guards down and run inside. They are soon caught and put it the stadium jail.

The crew starts kicking Homer in the rear end when Dolly Pardon wanders by. Having being a friend of Wally's (since he books a lot of trips to Dollywood) she offers to help them out by combusting the lock with her own brand of makeup remover. Now free, the boys set out to find seats. After running around screaming for an hour , they wander upon a skybox and decide to eat the food rather than watch the game. Sooon then, Ruper Murdoch plys in via helicoper and forces them out his skybox. They see and entrance to the field and head for it, but and push backwards by the winning team into their locker room and get to celebrate with them. After a day of excitement, the boys get on their bus and head for home, with Homer stealling the Superbowl trophy.

As soon as their bus leaves, John Madden and Pat Summerall comment on the episode, praising the character of Wall and the "B-story" and showing extreame dislike of the fact that dispite being a Superbowl episode with Dolly Parton, little or no football or singing was shown. Just then, a bus arrives..with Vincent Price as the driver!

==Production==

This episode was shown after the Superbowl, so the writers though that the audiance would be "footballed-out" by then, so they used that as a cheat for not whowing any football. Also, the episode was animated before the actual Superbowl, so to be as acurate as they could be with the teams, they used the passing of the beer mug to acuratly gives the names of the teams without having to reanimate the scene.

The writers were also impressed with the voice impression Dan Castlanetta did of Vincent Price, so they decided to use his charcter agian at the end of the episode.

Among the characters Homer takes to the Superbowl are Lenny, Carl, Bart, Wally, Rev. Lovejoy, Ned Flanders, Dr. Hibbert, Charlie, Comic Book Guy, Moe, Hans Moleman, Squeeky Voice Teen, Cheif Wiggum, the Sea Captian and Kirk van Houtan.

"'''D'oh-in In the Wind'''" is the sixth episode from the tenth season of ''[[The Simpsons]]''.

==Plot==

Mr. Burns plans on eating a jar of puckles for lunch, but is unable to open it. Everyone else in the plant is not able to open it too. Mr. Burns feels he needs tougher employees, so he directs Lenny, Carl and Homer in a commerical to promote the plant. Homer sees what a good job he did in the commercial and plans on becoming an actor. As he fills out his resume, Bart points out he hasn't filled in his middle name, just "J.". He consults Grandpa about it, who remembers where it might be. They drive to a farm run by two hippies, Sid and Munchie, who were friends of Homer's mother back when she has a hipster. They point out a mural she painted which reveals Homer's middle name - "Jay". Homer sees how care-free his life would be if he were a hippie and decides to become one.

Homer dons a poncho and carries around a frisbie as part of his hippie guise. He visits the farm where he joins Sid and Munchie in their game of hackie-sack. The fun soon ends when they must go back to work, as they have their own organic juice plant right in their barn. Homer beleives because of this that they're not hippies and makes them prove it by joining him on a "freak-out". After their little luck freaking out squares, the come back to the barn to see it's flooded with their jiuce and broken bottles and discover Homer's frisbe jammed the machine, thus ruining their order. In fury, they remind Homer he's not a hippie and he never was or will be one.

At night, Homer plans on making it up to them by taking some crops from their garden and making the juice and distributing it. However, he uses some of their "personal crops" (Peyote cacti) which cause anyone who drinks them to have crazy halucinations. The police catch on and surround the farm. Homer comes out front to defend his friends and hippie honor by reminding them of what the what the 60's morals gave us as he plants several flowers in the guns of the police, but he is shot the flower is lodged in his head. Dr. Hibbert can't get it out as he claims ""he's not a gardener".

* One of this episode's guest stars is [[George Carlin]]. In a previous episode, [[Krusty the Clown]] is told he is being sued by Carlin for plagiarizing "[[Seven dirty words|The Seven Words You Can't Say on Television]]".
* While Ned Flanders is driving, he has a hallucination where he sees the [[Grateful Dead]] Dancing Bears: Melody and Verse with the Skeleton from [[Social Distortion]] who says "Mornin' Ned". They are followed by the Marching Hammers from [[Pink Floyd|Pink Floyd's]] ''[[The Wall]]'' marching down the road and the [[Rolling Stones|Rolling Stones']] "Lips & Tongue" which ask him to "Pucker up Ned".
