They were born in [[Season 11]]'s "[[Eight Misbehavin']]" and have appeared in several episodes since. In "Eight Misbehavin'", Manjula was given fertility drugs, and gave birth to them. The media at first paid a lot of attention to the family, but then a woman in [[Shelbyville]] gave birth to nine children. Unable to afford all of their kids, Apu and Manjula allowed [[Larry Kidkill]] to display them in a zoo in exchange for full care of them. In the end, they decided that what they were doing was wrong and got them back.
*If you guys want a subject or anything to be a link thats not simpsons related and its already on wikipedia don't make it here just put for example [[wikipedia:New York|New York]] instead of [[New York]]. (look at it in editing style) But dont put everything like this only important links.

*The [[:Category:Minor characters]] should only be for characters who were only seen once on The Simpsons, any more than that should be considered as just [[:Category:Characters]]. Do not make a One-time only character category.

*Pictures are needed, dont be shy, upload them.

*Do not rename an article before talking to me first.
[[Image:Maggie 2007.png|left|200px]]
'''[[Maggie Simpson|Maggie Simpson]]''', voiced by [[Yeardley Smith]], is the one year old child of [[Homer Simpson|Homer]] and [[Marge Simpson|Marge]], and is the sister of [[Bart Simpson|Bart]] and [[Lisa Simpson|Lisa]].

Maggie is impressionable and easily influenced by what she sees around her. She once hit [[Homer Simpson|Homer]] on the head with a mallet, shot a suction dart at his picture and brandished a pencil in imitation of ''[[The Itchy & Scratchy Show|Itchy and Scratchy]]''. Despite her age, Maggie is a formidable marksman, as seen in "[[Who Shot Mr. Burns?]]" and "[[Papa's Got a Brand New Badge]]," where she is able to shoot the fingers off of a group of mobsters in rapid succession with a rifle. During the early seasons of the show, Maggie's equivalent of a hallmark or calling card would be to trip over her clothing and fall on her face while trying to walk, causing a loud smack on the floor. Indeed, throughout the Tracey Ullman shorts, Maggie fell down a total of 39 times.

She is keenly aware of her surroundings, and can usually be seen imitating the flow of action around her. Like Bart, Lisa and Homer, she is not fond of spending time with her aunts [[Patty and Selma Bouvier|Patty and Selma]]. It is also known that she dislikes One Eyebrowed baby very much. It was revealed that she was the one who pulled the trigger on Mr. Burns. While most characters dismissed this as an accident, it was strongly implied to viewers that Maggie shot Burns on purpose.

With few exceptions, Maggie never speaks but is very participatory in the events around her, emoting with subtle gestures and facial expressions. Maggie has spoken in "[[Good Night (The Simpsons short)|Good Night]]", the first [[The Simpsons shorts|short]] to air on ''[[The Tracey Ullman Show]]'', after the family falls asleep. On this occasion, [[Liz Georges]] provided the voice of Maggie.

Maggie's first word spoken in the normal continuity of the series occurred in "[[Lisa's First Word]]", when she was voiced by [[Elizabeth Taylor]]. Elizabeth Taylor's performance as Maggie was named the 13th greatest guest spot in the history of the show by IGN. [[James Earl Jones]], who voiced Maggie in [[Treehouse of Horror V]], was in seventh place. She would later have brief dialogue in [[Treehouse of Horror IX]], voiced by [[Harry Shearer]], who used his [[Kang & Kodos|Kang]] voice. In earlier episodes, [[Yeardley Smith]] did many of Maggie's squeaks and occasional speaking parts, although in later seasons her parts were done by [[Nancy Cartwright]].
'''"Please Homer, Don't Hammer 'Em..."''' is the third episode of the eighteenth season of The Simpsons.

== Plot ==
On a trip to a extremely poor mall, Homer happens across the Time Life Carpenter’s Library, and Marge encourages him to buy them. Also seen is 'I, Scoundrel' by Esme Delacroix, a book featured in a previous episode. Homer's interest in carpentry fades, and Marge decides to use them herself to fix up the house, starting with her broken nightstand. She begins to learn more and more about carpentry and Lisa suggests to Marge that she try to earn some money as a handyman, thus opening up 'Simpsons Carpentry'. However, potential clients (Superintendent Chalmers, Krusty the Clown) turn her down, dismissing the idea of a woman carpenter. Commenting on how people expect carpenters to be big fat guys "with their butt cheeks showing", Marge develops a plan. She uses Homer as a front to the customers, while Marge, hiding in an accompanied red tool chest, does the all of the work as Homer rests in the tool box. Starting on Professor Frink, she finds this plan as a success. Meanwhile, a note is sent out from the school, informing parents that someone at the school has a peanut allergy so peanuts will no longer be allowed on school premises. An indignant Bart claims it to be unfair to disclose the identity of the "kid," but he soon discovers the "kid" is actually Principal Skinner. With this newfound knowledge, and with the assistance of a peanut on a yardstick, Bart is able to abuse Skinner by making him do a number of humiliating activities, such as firing tennis balls at him, making him eat garbage in bed and making him read a "cootie" poem over the tannoy to the whole school.

While business is going great, Marge becomes a bit discouraged by Helen Lovejoy and Lindsay Naegle when she is out buying supplies, who berate her for being Homer's "helper" ("Hey Marge, I think you broke something. Better call Homer!"). That night, Marge tells Homer that he feels he's taking too much credit and wishes she would get some recognition for the work. Homer, however, doesn't want to be humiliated by revealing his wife did everything. After an incident in which Homer mocks Marge's carpentry skills with Lenny and Carl, who then kick the toolbox she is hiding in to the tune of We Will Rock You, Marge becomes enraged and quits, leaving Homer alone to do his biggest commission yet: repairing Springfield’s old wooden roller coaster, "The Zoominator". Homer tries to fake his way through being a foreman in front of his newly hired construction crew, but they eventually abandon him when he reveals he can't pay them via sobbing and screaming in the box. Meanwhile, Skinner eventually realizes he could exploit a weakness of Bart's, and searching through medical records of one Bart Simpson, finds exactly what he's looking for: something Bart's allergic to (the item is hidden on the folder by his finger in the scene). The next day, Skinner counters Bart's peanut stick with his own: a shrimp on a stick. In the style of the final battle in Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, Bart and Skinner clash with their respective “sticks,” eventually leading them into into a [[Thai food factory]] in the "[[Little Bangkok]]" section of town. They battle over a rickety catwalk, until it gives way, plunging them both into a vat of peanut shrimp, setting off both of their sensitive allergies.

The big reopening day arrives, and Homer (looking similarly alike to Mr. Monopoly) stands in front of a crowd (many of them roller coaster freaks), gathered to witness the unveiling of the refurbished roller coaster. Marge has a video camera at the ready, so she can catch Homer being exposed as a fraud on tape. When revealed, the crowd is in awe at the seemingly repaired roller coaster, but with a hit from Homer's popped cork from his champagne, the coaster dilapidates, becoming as rundown as it previously was. Still not wanting to admit the truth, Homer proves the coaster is safe by riding it himself, even though there are large gaps in the track. Acting quick, Marge is able to repair each broken piece just before Homer's cart runs over it. While riding, Homer announces to the crowd that Marge did all the handy work. The crowd applauds as the coaster comes to a stop at the beginning, and just as Marge is about to tell Homer that she loves him, the entire roller coaster structure comes crashing down on top of him. At the hospital, Marge visits Homer, who is okay but immobilized in a full body cast. Bart and Skinner rest in their respective hospital beds in the same room as Homer, and the two proceed to throw shrimp and peanuts at each other to set off their respective allergies once more.

==Goofs==
*In this episode Bart is said to only be allergic to shrimp. In [[Blood Feud]] Marge lists Bart's allergies as butterscotch, imitation butterscotch, and glow-in-the-dark monster make-up. In [[Mommie Beerest]] Bart is clearly seen eating and throwing shrimp. Also, in [[The Frying Game]] Bart says he was in the Green room, and he ate so much shrimp.

"'''Alone Again, Natura-Diddily'''" is the fourteenth episode of ''[[The Simpsons]]''<nowiki>'</nowiki> [[List of The Simpsons episodes#Season 11|eleventh season]]. The episode aired on [[February 13]], [[2000]].

==Plot==
On a trip to the bird sanctuary, the family sees that a new speedway has been built and is opening that day. The family goes to the racetrack and are surprised to meet the [[Flanders family]], who came not to see the race but for the high levels of safety used. Not long after arriving, a squad of cheerleaders is giving out free t-shirts by firing them from a cannon into the crowd, and Homer demands one. Homer takes off his t-shirt, and waves it around, shouting. Behind him were [[Ned Flanders|Ned]] and [[Maude Flanders]]; irritated by his antics, Maude goes to buy some hot dogs. Homer draws a target on his chest and gains the attention of the promotional cheerleaders. The cheerleaders send a full salvo of t-shirts in Homer's direction, but Homer bends down at the last second to pick up a bobby pin. The t-shirts hit Maude instead, who is returning from the hot dog stand. They knock her from the top of the bleachers to the ground. [[List of recurring characters from The Simpsons#Dr. Hibbert|Dr. Hibbert]] is fortunately there, but Maude is pronounced dead.

[[Reverend Lovejoy]] eulogized her as follows: "In many ways, Maude Flanders was a [[supporting character|supporting player]] in our lives. She didn't grab our attention with memorable [[catchphrases]], or comical accents. But, whether you noticed her or not, Maude was always there ... and we thought she always would be."

Everyone shows their condolences for Ned's loss, but Ned has to deal with being a widower and a single parent. Homer secretly makes a videotape of Ned Flanders to show to the interesting single girls across [[Springfield (The Simpsons)|Springfield]] at the "[[Video Matchmaking]]", helping him, but the dates are sour. On Sunday morning, Ned Flanders says he does not want to go to church, because he doubts the Lord for having taken Maude. Guilt-ridden, he later rushes to church (apologizing out loud to God the whole way) and sees a Christian rock band, Kovenant, perform. He is attracted (both physically and spiritually) to the singer, [[List_of_celebrities_in_The_Simpsons#Rachel_Jordan|Rachel Jordan]].

==Criticism==
Lowe's Motor Speedway president Jerry Gappens expressed his concern over the [[episode]] as it appeared to parody an actual incident during the aborted Indy Racing League IndyCar Series Visionaire 500k event on [[May 1]], [[1999]] where flying tires in a Lap 62 crash killed three spectators, forcing the track to abandon the race before the halfway point (104 of 208 laps). [[WCCB]], the Fox affiliate in Charlotte, [[North Carolina]], home to Lowe's Motor Speedway, refused to show the promotional advertising for this episode. [http://www.snpp.com/episodes/BABF10]

Many viewers criticised the show at the time for killing off a popular and beloved character, Maude Flanders.{{Fact|date=August 2007}} Groening later revealed that [[Maggie Roswell]], the actress who voiced Maude, moved away from the studios to [[Colorado]], making it difficult to continue the character's role in the show.[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cCbuwLJ-t6E&mode=related&search=]

==Cultural references==
*The title of the episode is in reference to the Gilbert O'Sullivan hit, "Alone Again (Naturally)" (1972).
*Words Ned spells out while playing Scrabble by himself: Solitary, Alone, Forever, Horny, and Flanswered.
*The video game "Billy Graham's Bible Blaster," played by [[Bart Simpson|Bart]] with [[Rod and Todd Flanders|Rod and Todd]], is a spoof of the unlicensed [[Nintendo Entertainment System game, ''Bible Adventures''.
*The background music during Flanders' dating tape is "I'm Too Sexy" by Right Said Fred.
*Moe said he was banned from church when talking to Ned but in [[Treehouse of Horror X]] Moe is seen in the crowd in church on [[I Know What you Diddly-Iddly-Did]]. Maybe he was banned after that but the producers probably didin't remember they animated him in or as a practical joke.
'''Frank Grimes''' was an employee of [[Springfield Nuclear Power Plant]] and the self-proclaimed enemy of [[Homer Simpson]].

==Life==
===Childhood===
As a young boy, Frank Grimes was abandoned by his parents. This forced him to fend for himself, which he did by getting a job as a delivery boy. On his eighteenth birthday, he was severely injured in a silo explosion.

===Adulthood===
Grimes received a degree in nuclear physics from a correspondence college. Shortly after this, he was featured in an episode of [[Kent Brockman]]'s "Kent's People." Mr. Burns saw the report and insisted that Frank Grimes be hired to work at the plant. When he arrived at work, Grimes met and took an instant dislike to Homer Simpson. After Homer inadvertently caused Grimes to be blamed for an accident involving spilled acid, Grimes told Homer that they would be enemies from that point on. Homer tried to patch things up by inviting Grimes to dinner at his house, but after Grimes saw the Simpson family and their home, he accused Homer of being a "total fraud" who leeched off hard-working people like him.

===Death===
In an effort to prove that Homer was a buffoon, Grimes tricked Homer into a nuclear power plant model-building contest for children, but when Homer won the contest, Grimes snapped. He ran through the plant, angrily impersonating Homer, and ultimately grabbed hold of some high-voltage power cables, saying "I don't need safety gloves cause I'm Homer Simp..." before being killed.
Known to Homer as "Frank Grimes, or Grimey, as he LIKED to be called". Which he actually hated.
[[Image:tombgshci.jpg|200px|left|thumb|nail|Frank's Tombstone shown in "[[Alone Again, Natura-Diddily]]"]]
===Family===
One fact about Frank Grimes that was not generally known was that he enjoyed hiring prostitutes. We know this because his son revealed in a much later episode that Grimes enjoyed 'hiring his hookers'. One such woman became the mother of his son, [[Frank Grimes Jr.]], who later tried to avenge his father's death by killing Homer, but ultimately failed.

===Voice===
[[Hank Azaria]] provided the voice of Frank Grimes, even though such a role would normally have been performed by a guest star. The producers decided Azaria was more suitable because the role involved a great deal of frustration and required extensive knowledge of the show. Azaria, who felt that the role should instead go to William H. Macy, modeled many of Grimes' mannerisms after Macy.

'''Dr Marvin Monroe''' is a local psychiatrist who was for a long time considered to have passed away.

==History==
In his first appearance in "[[There's No Disgrace Like Home]]", the [[Simpson family]] went to him to help them become closer. Sadly he was unable to help them and had to give them double their money back. Monroe used the shock methed: the Simpsons were strapped in chairs with electrodes attached to them, and controls which they could use to shock other family members. However it got out of hand and the whole town lost power. With their money doubled they purchased a new TV and were able to bond over that, so indirectly he was indeed able to help them. Later in "[[The Call of the Simpsons]]", Dr. Monroe is one of the scientists who studies [[Homer]] to figure out if he is the missing link. In the end their findings are inconclusive. Monroe also hosts his own morning radio show on [[KBBL]] where he takes calls from listeners and tries to help them with their problems.

==Supposed Death==
[[Image:tombghci.jpg|200px|left|thumb|nail|Monroe's Tombstone shown in "[[Alone Again, Natura-Diddily]]"]]
Although it was never specifically shown Dr. Monroe was considered to have died. He stopped appearing on TV and his business closed down. Many people in [[Springfield]] also believed him to be dead because several things had been named after him; Marvin Monroe Memorial Hospital, and a school gym. His grave is shown in "[[Alone Again, Natura-Diddly]]" and in "[[The Simpsons 138th Episode Spectacular]]" he, along with [[Bleeding Gums Murphy]], is said to have died "over the past year". However several years later he spontaneously appeared in "[[Diatribe of a Mad Housewife]]" at [[Marge|Marge's]] book signing. Marge, shocked to see him, explained that she thought he was dead. Dr. Monroe explained that he had "been very sick". It is unknown who built his grave, or why he was seemingly buried with no body in evidence.
}}

''' "Bleeding Gums" Murphy''' is voiced mainly by [[Ron Taylor]]. He was a jazz musician, and an idol of [[Lisa Simpson]]. He only predominantly appeared in the episodes "[[Moaning Lisa]]" and "[['Round Springfield]]", and made brief appearances in "[[Dancin' Homer]]", "[[Old Money]]", "[[Flaming Moe's]] , "[[Radio Bart]]" and "[[Lisa's Pony]]". He also always appears in the opening credits during the theme song, when Bart passes by him skating (and by [[Apu Nahasapeemapetilon|Apu]], [[Chief Wiggum]] and others).

==Biography==
Alto saxophone player Bleeding Gums was a mentor to [[Lisa Simpson]] until his early death.

Bleeding Gums learned his musical skills "at the feet of" "Blind Willie" Witherspoon. Willie wanted to give Bleeding Gums his saxophone, only to be finally told that it wasn't a saxophone and actually an umbrella, meaning that Willie had actually been playing an umbrella for some thirty years. Bleeding Gums explained to Willie that no one informed him of the mistake because "we all thought it was funny".

He recorded only one album called ''Sax on the Beach'', which was extremely lucrative, but he soon went broke after spending too much of his money on several Fabergé eggs a day. In "'Round Springfield" he revealed that he had once made a guest appearance on ''The Cosby Show'' in 1986 as the Huxtable children's grandfather, as well as appearing on Steve Allen's ''Tonight Show''.
[[Image:Cosbysimpson.jpg‎|200px|right|thumb|nail|Bleeding Gums on the Cosby Show.]]
Murphy makes his first appearance playing his saxophone on a bridge in the middle of the night. This is a reference to Sonny Rollins, the great saxophonist, who famously retired from public and was not seen for three years, until a journalist discovered him playing the saxophone alone on the Williamsburg Bridge.

In the episode "[[Moaning Lisa]]", he played and vocalized a song written by Lisa. It pleased Lisa to see the performance of her own jazz song in the bar "The Jazz Hole", but not everyone in the family was happy with lyrics, as they criticized several of them.

Bleeding Gums appears in a brief role in the episode "[[Dancin' Homer]]". He sings a twenty six minute version of the American National anthem "The Star Spangled Banner" at the Springfield Isotopes game.

He also appears in the episode "[[Lisa's Pony]]", where he serves as one of the three judges for the talent show, giving Bart a 10 for his impersonation of Principal Skinner and also appears in "[[Radio Bart]]", where he joins in with the song "Sending Our Love Down the Well".

==Death==
[[Image:2f32.jpg|200px|thumb|nail|Bleeding Gums (left) appearing to Lisa Simpson in a cloud, after his death in 'Round Springfield.']]
[[Image:tombg.jpg|200px|left|thumb|nail|Bleeding Gum's Tombstone shown in "[[Alone Again, Natura-Diddily]]"]]
He makes his final appearance in "[['Round Springfield]]".When [[Bart Simpson|Bart]] ends up in the hospital after eating a jagged metal [[Krusty-O]], Lisa finds Bleeding Gums in a hospital bed in a nearby ward. They play Carole King's "Jazzman" together entertaining the hospital. He explains about his life, family and work to her as well as giving her advice for her upcoming school performance, lending her his saxophone. When Lisa returns she finds out that Bleeding Gums has died from circumstances that are never revealed. The episode in which Bleeding Gums Murphy dies is strongly based on the movie ''Round Midnight''', in which the fictional character of Dale Turner (based on Lester Young and Bud Powell) likewise dies without explanation.

No one, except for Lisa, attends Murphy's funeral. [[Reverend Lovejoy]] gets his name wrong, calling him "Blood and Guts Murphy" as well as saying that he was "quite the sousaphone player". This prompts Lisa to buy his album, as the jazz station didn't have it, although she cannot afford it. Bart uses the $500 he got from his court case against "Krusty O's" to buy it for her. She gives it to the jazz station who play it on the radio. The signal isn't strong enough, but a lightning strike boosts the signal so that all of [[Springfield]] does hear it.

Then as a parody of "The Lion King", Murphy's face appeared from the clouds, thanking Lisa for her final tribute and performing "Jazzman" one last time with her at the episode finale (to further the parody, other famous characters voiced by [[James Earl Jones]] appear as well; Mufasa from The Lion King, Darth Vader from Star Wars and Jones' own CNN narration).

Later, in an episode of ''Futurama'', ''Jurassic Bark'', the character Fry claimed that his dog had intimate relations with the leg of a wandering saxophonist, a reference to Murphy.

==Creation==
Bleeding Gums Murphy is loosely based on Leroi Moore.

Bleeding Gums gave the origin of his nickname in "Moaning Lisa" as thus: "Well let me put it this way... you ever been to the dentist? Not me. I suppose I should go to one, but I got enough pain in my life as it is."

The voice of Bleeding Gums Murphy was provided by [[Ron Taylor]], while his saxophone playing is provided by [[Dan Higgins]]. In the episode "[[Dancin' Homer]]" he was voiced by [[Daryl L. Coley]].

Murphy has been a fixture of ''The Simpsons''' opening sequence from Season Two on, even after his death. He even appeared in the live-action format<ref>[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=49IDp76kjPw Real Life Simpsons Intro] (He appears after 35 seconds) ''YouTube''. URL accessed on December 14, 2006</ref>, in The Simpsons Sky One commercial, that was also used for the episode "[[Homer Simpson, This Is Your Wife]]".

In addition to his onscreen appearances, Murphy also appeared on ''[[The Simpsons Sing the Blues]]'', an album of rock, and jazz music with vocals performed by characters from the show. On the track "God Bless the Child" (a cover of the Billie Holiday song), performed by Lisa Simpson (Yeardley Smith), Murphy speaks up after the final chorus to praise Lisa for her vocals, after which he and Lisa perform a saxophone duet for the remainder of the song. Murphy was again voiced by Ron Taylor for the song, and his alto saxophone part was performed by Kim Richmond.

My Main priority right now is the all the characters. THERE SHOULD BE AN ARTICLE FOR EVERY CHARACTER, DOESN'T MATTER IF MINOR OR ONE-TIME.
Thats means all of them having the right templates, information, pictures, and categories. Watch My page for updates, tips, info, etc.
These articles are the ones that need help right now, if anybody can help me out with these i would appericate it. Just put your name at the bottom under helpers so I'll know who's helping me. I starting off with the [[Springfield Mafia]].

==Tips==
Here is a few tips for all the users:
*If you guys want a subject or anything to be a link thats not simpsons related and its already on wikipedia don't make it here just put for example [[wikipedia:New York|New York]] instead of [[New York]]. (look at it in editing style) But dont put everything like this only important links.

*The [[:Category:Minor characters]] should only be for characters who were only seen once on The Simpsons, any more than that should be considered as just [[:Category:Characters]]. Do not make a One-time only character category.

*Pictures are needed, dont be shy, upload them.

*Do not rename an article before talking to me first.

*Don't copy whole articles from wikipedia paste it over the present article at wikisimpsons. If the article doesn't exist here then you can do it.

'''Springfield''' is the city where the TV series ''[[The Simpsons]]'' is set. It is located near [[Shelbyville]] and [[Capital City]] in [[Springfield's State|a state whose name is never mentioned]]. The evidence is sufficiently contradictory that it cannot be identified with an specific state.

Founded in 1796 by [[Jebediah Springfield |Hans Sprungfeld]] and a band of fiercely determined pioneers out of Maryland who set off after misinterpreting a passage in the bible. Springfield seems to be a small city rather than a megalopolis. Its features include one [[Springfield Nuclear Power Plant|nuclear power plant]]; two elementary schools ([[Springfield Elementary School]] and [[West Springfield Elementary School]]); a minor league baseball stadium; an airport; a harbor of some form; a downtown district; a large tire fire yard; a ghetto; a Russian district; its own Little Italy; several specialized shopping districts, [[Moe's Tavern|Moe's]], a bar run by Moe Szyslak; and Barney's Bowl-A-Rama, a bowling alley run by [[Al Gumble]].

Springfield's nearest neighboring town is Shelbyville. There is a strong rivalry between the towns, dating back to a rivalry between their founders -- Jebediah Springfield and [[Shelbyville Manhattan]]. Manhattan wanted to found a city where men were free to marry their cousins, but Springfield refused to allow it, so Shelbyville was founded as a rival town. The story of the dispute between Jebediah Springfield and Shelbyville Manhattan contains faint references to the historical stories of the deal between Asa Lovejoy and William Overton to file a land claim, and the dispute between Lovejoy and Francis W. Pettygrove over the name of Portland, Oregon.

==History==
[[Image:The Simpsons-Jebediah Springfield.png|thumb|209px|right|List of recurring characters from The Simpsons#Jebediah Springfield|Jebediah Springfield, founder.]]

Springfield was founded in 1796 by settlers who were trying to find a passage to Maryland after mis-interpreting a passage in the Bible. In its early days, the city was the target of many Native Americans in the United States|Indian raids, and to this day many forts and trading posts remain (including Fort Springfield and Fort Sensible). It was also the site of two battles during the American Civil War ''(see Battle of Springfield for more information)''.

The founder of Springfield was pioneer Jebediah Springfield, widely celebrated in the town as a brave and proud American hero. He famously once killed a bear with his bare hands, and this deed is immortalized in a bronze statue in front of the city hall. However, revisionist historians have since determined that the bear in fact probably killed Springfield, and not vice-versa. The town motto "a noble spirit embiggens the smallest man" is attributed to Jebediah. [[Lisa Simpson]] would later discover that Jebediah Springfield was in fact Hans Sprungfeld, a murderous pirate and enemy of George Washington, but eventually decided that the myth of Springfield should be preserved and did not reveal her findings.

In the mid-20th century, the city reached perhaps the pinnacle of its success when it became the home of the Aquacar, a car which could be driven in water like a boat. At this point, the city's streets were literally paved with gold. But unfortunately, as related in the ''Are We There Yet? The Simpsons: Guide to Springfield'', this economy collapsed when it was discovered that the Aquacar was prone to spontaneous explosion after 600 miles and/or knots. The town has never really recovered from this tragedy (the gold was reportedly shipped to the Sultan of Brunei to encase one of his many elephant herds), but some heavy industry remains in the town, including factories for [[Ah, Fudge! Factory|Ah, Fudge!]] chocolate, Southern Cracker, fireworks, candy, and boxes, as well as a steel mill.

Springfield was nearly chosen as the host for the Summer Olympic Games, but [[Bart Simpson]]'s antics angered representatives from the International Olympic Committee|IOC. It was also nearly awarded an National Football League|NFL franchise team, but [[Abraham Simpson]] attacked the commissioner - mistaking him for a burgular - while he was trying to use the Simpsons' phone.

In Bart-Mangled Banner, Bart accidentally moons the U.S. flag, and the Simpsons appear on a talk show to explain the matter. However, the show's host makes it appear that Springfield hates America. When the rest of the U.S. reciprocates this loathing, Mayor Quimby changes the name of Springfield to "Liberty-Ville". An enormous patriotic craze ensues, wherein all items are priced at $ 17.76, even houses.

In [[The Simpsons Movie]], the town was sealed inside a dome by Russ Cargill, head of the EPA, after Springfield's recently cleaned lake was polluted again by [[Homer Simpson]]. During that time, the town fell into ruin and was plagued by power shortages ([[Mr Burns]] refused to give free power.)and lack of supplies. The dome was destroyed by [[Homer]] and [[Bart]] Simpson, and the town was repaired and rebuilt.

The most recent incident was when Springfield's Fast Food Boulevard was burnt down, once again by [[Homer Simpson]].

==Geography and climate==
===Geography===
Springfield's geography includes mountains, gorges, giant redwood trees, a desert, a forest, lakes, rivers and a volcano. It is located on the coast of a large body of water, possibly an ocean. It has also been stated that "West Springfield" is 3 times the size of Texas, and looks exactly like Texas in shape, although that's impossible.

Major geographic features include Springfield Gorge, Springfield National Forest, Mt. Springfield, Springfield Harbor, Springfield Badlands, the Murderhorn (an homage to the Matterhorn), Springfield Glacier, Widow's Peak, and Mt. Carlmore.

===Cityscape===
The city is divided into a number of districts, including Skid Row, Lower East Side (a Jewish district), Springfield Heights, Bum Town, East Springfield, Recluse Ranch Estates, Junkieville, Pressboard Estates, South Street Squidport, Little Newark, Crackton, a Russian district, West Springfield, Tibet Town, Little Italy, and a gay district. For a brief period, Springfield divided itself into two cities, Olde Springfield and New Springfield, on the basis of an area code division. Wealthy Olde Springfield, with Mayor Quimby, anchorman Kent Brockman, and bullies such as [[Nelson Muntz]], was separated from the rest of Springfield by a wall that was erected by poor New Springfield. Mayor Quimby maintained control of Olde Springfield while [[Homer Simpson]] ran New Springfield. The cities were later re-united through a concert by The Who.

The city's Main Street is in a pitiful state of disrepair, owing to citizens driving along it while carrying excessively heavy weights and leaving snow chains on their tires after the snow has melted. One typical example featured Homer Simpson driving with a massive grand piano strapped to the roof of his car as his chain-covered tires gouged the road, laughing "look at that pavement fly!" Some of the potholes have become so wide that entire cars and trucks can (and have) fallen into them.<ref>This is revealed in [[Marge vs. the Monorail]]</ref>

Towns near Springfield (within driving distance or close enough to be included in local news) include [[North Haverbrook]], [[Shelbyville]], [[Ogdenville]], [[Brockway]] and [[Cranford]].

===Climate===
Springfield is located in an area that can receive rain and snow. Most of the time however, the skies are blue and mostly sunny.

Springfield is also subject to a number of natural disasters including avalanches, earthquakes, acid rain, floods, hurricanes, lightning strikes, tornadoes, and volcanic eruptions.

===Pollution===
According to the ''Are We There Yet? Guide to Springfield'', visitors from elsewhere are advised to constantly wear radiation suits and carry Geiger counters, since the city is perhaps the most radioactive in the U.S. This is because the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant was built during an incredibly lax period for the Nuclear Regulatory Commission in which the plant's nuclear core was surrounded not by several layers of protective concrete and graphite but by ordinary plaster with a horseshoe hanging from a nail. Also, management apparently gives employees benefits for storing nuclear waste in buildings; in some episodes, barrels of waste have been seen in the Simpsons' basement. Also perhaps due to this, the book reports that international law forbids shipping produce from Springfield; those who do venture into a local supermarket or farmer's market may find that it gives off a barely audible hum. Springfield is also home to the state's largest tire fire, which has been continuously burning for approximately 42 years (as of 2008) which does nothing to improve the air quality.

==People and culture==
The geographic location of Springfield is never stated, but Springfield is generally considered to depict, in a lampooning manner, "bread-and-butter" Middle America, culturally somewhere between a suburb and a small town. Springfieldians are not, for the most part, cosmopolitan, and most are of lower-middle to middle income (excluding the nefarious, extravagant [[Montgomery Burns]], Lindsey Naegle, and the "Well, I never!" woman).

In one episode, the "small-town nastiness" of Springfield is made evident by a benighted tradition of "snake-whacking" whereby, annually, Springfieldians bludgeon snakes to death. Lisa Simpson, a proto-Liberalism in the United States|liberal disgusted by this activity, encourages the people of Springfield to quit the tradition with the aid of soul singer Barry White.

Springfieldians have a very bad reputation. As described by Dr. Hibbert, it is a town where the smartest have no power and the stupidest run everything. TIME magazine once did a cover story on Springfield entitled "America's Worst City," and Newsweek has referred to the city as "America's Crud Bucket." Most citizens are very stupid, overweight, and also quick to anger, though it should be noted that Shelbyville residents are (somehow) even stupider and more backwards. There is a riot almost every month. Springfield also has a strange smell that is uncomfortable to new Residency|residents. It is usually about six weeks before they adjust. (Cities near pulp mills, such as Lewiston, Idaho or Springfield, Oregon, have a similar problem.) Springfield is also the first United States city to abandon the SI|Metric system.

Obesity has been several times a joke on the show. It is even stated in "Sweets and Sour Marge" that Springfield is "the world's fattest town."

===Demographics===
Springfield is home to people of many races, cultures, and creeds, including European-Americans (the Simpson, Flanders and Van Houten families), African-Americans (the Hibbert family, [[Carl Carlson]]), Latinos (Bumblebee Man), South Asians (Apu and his family, "Two Guys From Kabul") and East Asians (Cookie Kwan, Akira).

There is a large gap between wealthy citizens (such as [[Krusty the Clown]] and Mr. Burns), and poor citizens (Nelson Muntz, [[Cletus Spuckler|Cletus the Slack-Jawed Yokel]]). Population is about 40,000.
this people who also live in this town are very fat.

===Crime===
There are a number of prisons in Springfield, including Springfield Penitentiary, Springwood Minimum Security Prison, Springfield Women's Prison, and Montgomery Burns State Penitentiary. The Springfield Police Department, led by Police Chief Clancy Wiggum, is a largely corrupt and incompetent organization. There was also a time in the town's history where the police duties were handed over from the Springfield Police Department over to Springshield which was run by Homer Simpson with the help of his friends Lenny and Carl. Most organized crime in town is controlled by mob boss Fat Tony, however the Yakuza are present in smaller numbers.

===Arts & Entertainment===
[[Image:Aztect.jpg|thumb|right|the Aztec Theater]]
Springfield boasts an opera house, an outdoor amphitheater, an arbortoreum, a vibrant jazz scene and was mentioned as the entertainment capital of its state. There is also an unusually high number of museums, including Springfield Museum (which features the world's largest cubic zirconia), Springfield Knowledgeum, Springfield Museum of Natural History, Springsonian Museum, and a stamp museum. Springfield once had the Springfield Concert Hall, but it was closed down after the first two measures of Beethoven's Fifth Symphony and turned into the Montgomery Burns State Penitentiary. Springfield has two movie theatres the [[Aztec Theater]] and the [[Springfield Gogoplex Theatres]]. It also has a drive in called the Springfield Drivein.

===Media===
The city paper is ''[[The Springfield Shopper]]'', and the most popular TV station is [[KBBL-TV]] (Channel 6), with [[Kent Brockman]], Scott Christian and Arnie Pie on the news, Krusty the Clown and Sideshow Mel doing shows, and Bill & Marty on the radio. Alternatively, '''Channel Ocho''' is a Spanish language/Latino channel featuring Bumblebee Man.

===Religion===
[[Image:Churchh.jpg|thumb|right|The first church of Springfield.]]
Religion and faith plays a large role in Springfieldian society. The largest church community appears to be the [[First Church of Springfield]], a Presbylutheran church headed by Reverend Timothy Lovejoy. There is also a synagogue (led by Rabbi Hyman Krusofski), a mosque, a Catholic church, an Episcopal church (with vibrating pews) and a Buddhist temple. Apu, a Hindu, has a statue of the god Ganesh in the Kwik-E-Mart.

In the episode "[[The Joy of Sect]]," many Springfieldians joined a cult known as Movementarianism, but soon left after it was revealed as a fraud. According to [[Reverend Lovejoy]] in "The Simpsons: Guide to Springfield" by Matt Groening, there is also an alliance of people who split off from the Presbyterians to worship an Inanimate Carbon Rod. Lenny Leonard, Carl Carlson and Lisa Simpson are practicing Buddhists. There is also a Stonecutters Lodge (currently re-named as "The Ancient Society of No-Homers,"), of which practically every male in the city (minus Homer Simpson) is a member.

The town government is secular. In 1963, a law was passed which banned praying on city property. Another episode featured a convict who was imprisoned for erecting a nativity scene on city property. In "Sweet Seymour Skinner's Baadasssss Song" Superintendent Chalmers fired Principal Ned Flanders when he overhears him saying "thank the Lord" over the PA system.

===Sports===
There are a number of sports teams and sports arenas: the Springfield Isotopes Class AA|AA baseball team (which once threatened to move to Albuquerque, New Mexico, whose real life minor league baseball eventually changed their name to the Isotopes), the Springfield Speedway, a monster truck rally (featuring Truckasaurus), the Springfield Atoms American football|football team, the Springfield Stun arena football team, the Springfield Ice-otopes Ice hockey|hockey team, the Association of Springfield Semi-Pro Boxers, and a dog track. It also use to have a bull fighting ring.

===Districts===
====Pressboard Estates====
[[Pressboard Estates]] is the neighbourhood [[Evergreen Terrace]] and [[Main Street]] are located in.
=====Evergreen Terrace=====
[[Image:Kwikemart.jpg|thumb|right|The Evergreen Terrace Kwik-E-Mart.]]
[[Evergreen Terrace]] is the main district int the Simpsons. it is where many of the families live. It has over 742 houses since the Simpsons live on [[742 Evergreen Terrace]]. it is home to the [[Kwik-E-Mart]].
====West Springfield====
[[West Springfield]] is apparently three times the size of Texas. It is where [[Homer Simpson]] got an oil job.

===Economy===
Springfield's economy, although at one time "on the GROW!", is now floundering. Some heavy industry remains in the town, including factories for Ah! Fudge chocolate, Southern Cracker, fireworks, candy, and boxes, as well as a steel mill. Many Springfieldians are employed by the [[Springfield Nuclear Power Plant]].

Major industries include nuclear power, heavy manufacturing, [[Duff Beer]], and retail. Many of Sprinfield's stores are located in the [[Springfield Mall]].

==Infrastructure==
===Government===
[[Image:joeq.png|thumb|right|Maggotby]]
The current mayor of Springfield is Democrat Josephvon a sleazy womanizing politician who once admitted to using the town treasury to fund the murder of his enemies. He was briefly thrown out in favor of [[Sideshow Bob]], but was later re-instated when Bob was impeached for electoral fraud. His post was threatened by a recall election, but none of the new candidates gained enough of the vote to oust him.

When the mayor briefly skipped town due to missing lottery funds, the town's MENSA chapter (Lisa Simpson,Dr.Hibbert, Lindsey Naegle, Comic Book Guy, and Prof. Frink) technocracy|took over. They changed clocks to metric time, eliminated the green lights from stoplights, and put the city on the top 300 US cities. It was 299th, above East Saint Louis, Illinois.

In the United States House of Representatives, Springfield was represented by Congressman Bob Arnold, who was later expelled for taking bribes. However, in the episode "Mr. Spritz Goes to Washington," Horace Wilcox is stated to have been congressman since 1933. After Wilcox's death, Krusty the Clown runs for Congress as a Republican, and wins. He is still a representative, as of the episode "The Ziff Who Came To Dinner."

====Laws, Statutes, and Propositions====
Gambling is legal in Springfield, as is gay marriage, trade in children and fishing with dynamite. For a brief time, prohibition was brought back ("spirituous beverages are hereby prohibited in Springfield under penalty of catapult"). It is however illegal for ducks to have no pants on in public.

There are a number of unusual statutes in Springfield and its town charter, including "the chief constable shall receive one pig every month and two comely lasses of virtue true," "it is illegal to mail threatening letters and to put squirrels down your pants for the purposes of gambling," and "five kicks of the same can shall be considered illegally transporting litter."

Proposition 24, which would deport all illegal immigrants from Springfield, passed with 95% at the end of "[[Much Apu About Nothing]]." Marge and her family successfully lobby to get Proposition 242, a "Families Come First" grassroots voter initiative, passed in "Marge vs. Singles, Seniors, Childless Couples and Teens, and Gays." In "Three Gays of the Condo," there is a billboard put up by [[Patty and Selma]] advocating "yes" on Proposition 104, "Homer out of Springfield".

===Education===
There are quite a number of public and private schools in Springfield, including two elementary schools (Springfield Elementary School & East Springfield Elementary School), junior high school, and high school. There are also a number of colleges, including Springfield A&M, Krusty's Clown College<ref>This apears in [[Homie the Clown]]</ref>, the University of Springfield, and the unfortunately named Springfield Heights Institute of Technology. A full list of education institutions in Springfield can be found [http://snpp.com/guides/city.profile.html#4 here].

It has a dog obediance school.<ref>This appears in [[Bart's Dog Gets an F]]</ref>

Springfield has many museums, such as the Springfield Museum of Natural History and the Knolegeum. It has a libary and an observatory.

===Transportation===
Several highways run through Springfield, including the Michael Jackson Expressway (Interstate Route 401, formerly the Dalai Lama Expressway), the uncompleted Matlock Expressway, Interstate 95, Route 202, and Rural Route 9. There is also a railroad, an abandoned aqueduct, and an Escalator to Nowhere. There was also a [[Springfield Monorail]] for a brief time, which was shut down after a disastrous maiden voyage. It has a street called Main Street which has a lot of potholes.

The city bus service provides public transit on the route 22 bus on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday; and the 22A bus on Tuesday and Thursday. There is also another route, the 108, as seen in [[Future-Drama]].In [[The Simpsons Road Rage]] it had nuclear buses owned by [[Burns Transit]].

[[Image:Springfield airport.jpg|thumb|right|Springfield International Airport]]
[[Springfield International Airport]] is the airport that serves Springfield. It has scheduled flights around the US and the world.

There is also a subway system, most likely a long distance system, to the likes of Bay Area Rapid Transit, with a station at Third Street [Ciatation Needed].

In [[The Simpsons Road Rage]] it had a taxi service which was many of Springfield's residents. It operated in six different districts.

In [[The Simpsons: Hit and Run]] it had a lot of highways downtown.

==History==

==Geography and climate==
===Geography===

Carlmore.

===Cityscape===

===Climate===

===Pollution===

==People and culture==

===Demographics===

===Crime===

===Arts & Entertainment===

===Media===

===Religion===

===Sports===

===Districts===
====Pressboard Estates====
[[Pressboard Estates]] is the neighbourhood [[Evergreen Terrace]] and [[Main Street]] are located in.
=====Evergreen Terrace=====
====West Springfield====
[[West Springfield]] is apparently three times the size of Texas. It is where [[Homer Simpson]] got an oil job.
===Economy===

====Laws, Statutes, and Propositions====

===Education===

===Transportation===

'''"Please Homer, Don't Hammer 'Em..."''' is the third episode of the eighteenth season of The Simpsons.

== Plot ==

In the style of the final battle in Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, Bart and Skinner clash with their respective “sticks,” eventually leading them into into a Thai food factory in the "[[Little Bangkok]]" section of town.

==Goofs==
Two of its more well-known stores are the [[Leftorium]] and [[Lionel Hutz]]'s law office. In "[[Please Homer, Don't Hammer 'Em...]]", the mall is shown in a dilapidated state due to the Mayor's dad being murdered there. Many major stores, like JCPenney, are run down and out of business. However in "[[G.I. (Annoyed Grunt)]]", a mere two episodes later, the mall is thriving again. In [[The Simpsons Road Rage]], the player can drive around inside the Springfield Mall. In [[The Simpsons Game]], Kang and Kodos are invading the Springfield Mall.
Two of its more well-known stores are the [[Leftorium]] and [[Lionel Hutz]]'s law office. In "[[Please Homer, Don't Hammer 'Em...]]", the mall is shown in a dilapidated state. Many major stores, like JCPenney, are run down and out of business. However in "[[G.I. (Annoyed Grunt)]]", a mere two episodes later, the mall is thriving again. In [[The Simpsons Road Rage]], the player can drive around inside the Springfield Mall.
Welcome to my talk page.

==Episodes layout==
I already posted this on Basel's talk page, but seeing as you're the only other regular contributor here, I'll show you my idea as well. I think we need to decide on a set format for the episode pages. Alot of them have just been copied from Wikipedia, and so aren't written in the in-universe style that this Wiki is supposed to be written in. On Wikipedia we have to write pages from an out-of-universe perspective, so we must include a limited plot summary, production info, key cultural references, and reception all in prose, with no Trivia. However here, that is not the best idea. As such I propose to have a set style guideline for episodes. It's based on what the old Wikipedia episode page format was, and essentially what the ''Lost'' episode articles on Lostpedia are like. So: A detailed synopsis - as long as it needs to be. Then a good long Trivia section, perhaps with sub-sections: General notes about the episode, if it effects the overall show, if its events are mentioned again, key production information, key reception information such as awards, animation errors and continuity errors (not "Goofs", that word is horrible). Then a separate Cultural references section, detailing every reference made in the episode. And the same would apply to the movie, but that would obviously have more production points. Thoughts? ==Admin==

I personally think you should be an administer as you have done the most work on here and you could delete all the spam articles straight away and use the many other admin controls to make this wiki better.[[User:Sgtcook|Sgtcook]] 20:42, 14 February 2008 (UTC)

Yes but how am I suposed to be an admin?[[User:Dr. Ralph Wiggum|Dr. Ralph Wiggum]] 22:14, 14 February 2008 (UTC)
:An admin or bureaucrat has to make you one.[[User:Sgtcook|Sgtcook]] 16:05, 15 February 2008 (UTC)

::I seriously should be one because there are many articles here that should be deleted and many current admins have not been deleted here. Mainly, Penkinedymn and Never talks should be deleted as Penkinedymn is just a made up word and is nonsense while Never talks doesn't really need an article anyway there are more articles that should be deleted that I will get to later. Anyway, I have to find an admin or bureaucrat to talk to first.[[User:Dr. Ralph Wiggum|Dr. Ralph Wiggum]] 23:11, 15 February 2008 (UTC)
He says very little, which spares him from accusations of being a "squealer," but his reticence tends to be unhelpful to himself or others.
In ''[[Insane Clown Poppy]]'', there is a shoot-out in [[Fat Tony's mansion]] and Tightlips is shot by accident. When asked where he's injured, he says " I ain't sayin' nuthin'!", and when asked what to tell the doctor he says, "Tell 'em to go suck a lemon."
Thats means all of them having the right templates, information, pictures, and categories. Watch My page for updates, tips, info, etc.
==Tips==

==Incompetence==
However, he does not appear to be very useful to his colleagues in criminal activity due to his uncontrollable habit of squealing (he claims that "it makes me feel big"). On several occasions, the mob has attempted to kill him for his squealing, though they have repeatedly been unsuccessful. He was seen once on the ocean floor, however, dead, with his feet in a concrete block.
In the episode ''[[Ice Cream of Margie (With The Light Blue Hair)]]'' he was seen again, posing for [[Marge Simpson]] with Fat Tony, who is choking him, for one of Marge's icecream stick statuettes. After posing they smile deeply at each other. Fat Tony gets in the front seat of the car and Frankie opens the trunk and gets inside.

==Tips==

Hi! I'm fairly new to this wiki, but I think it would be a good idea to open discussions before moving any more characters, especially main characters, to decide whether to use the primary and most familiar names, [[Marge Simpson]] and [[Lisa Simpson]], or full names which often developed only over the course of the series. -- [[User:Aleal|<font color="Blue">Andrew Leal</font>]] ([[User talk:Aleal|<font color="Blue" size="1">talk</font>]]) 21:02, 13 December 2007 (UTC)
:Hi again! I'm commenting here rather than my page to clear the air a bit. I wasn't trying to tell you what to do, say what you were doing was wrong, or chastise you or anything. You've been working here for a more than a week, making a lot of edits, and doing good work; I just came in yesterday, doing some minor clean-up. It's just that the sudden name changes caught me by complete and utter surprise while I was working on other pages, and I figured it would probably do the same to others, so I was encouraging discussion; I spend a lot of time on [[w:c:muppet|Muppet Wiki]], and we always try to discuss issues like that first, just so everyone knows what's going on and is on the same page. Anyway, I left a note with Basel17, who's better qualified to look at these issues anyway. Yeah its alot better, it makes the page look like a real page. If you guys want a subject or anything to be a link and its already on wikipedia don't make it here just put for example [[wikipedia:New York|New York]] instead of [[New York]]. (look at it in editing style)
yeah but its just redirecting it to more precise information
[[User:Sgtcook|Sgtcook]] 21:06, 13 December 2007 (UTC)
:That's the problem, though. As a redirect, that's a great idea. As the main page, it's problematic, especially when you get into maiden names and such. Casual users will look for [[Marge Simpson]], not Marjorie Bouvier Simpson, and for that matter writers, voice actors, critics etc. use Marge Simpson or Marge; the change creates double redirects which need to be fixed and in general can be disorienting. Either way, while I know this isn't the most active community at present, it's a major alteration which should really be discussed. -- [[User:Aleal|<font color="Blue">Andrew Leal</font>]] ([[User talk:Aleal|<font color="Blue" size="1">talk</font>]]) 21:10, 13 December 2007 (UTC)
::confused anyway i fixed double redirections by searching things like [[Marge Bouvier]] which redirected to [[Marge Simpson]] and changed it to [[Marjorie Bouvier Simpson]]

:::Yeah, that helps. I don't want to sound discouraging, but I *really* think this needs to be discussed in [[Current events]] or somewhere before you do the same for any more major characters, i.e. moving [[Bart Simpson]] to [[Bartholemew "Bart" Jojo Simpson]] and so on. -- [[User:Aleal|<font color="Blue">Andrew Leal</font>]] ([[User talk:Aleal|<font color="Blue" size="1">talk</font>]]) 21:21, 13 December 2007 (UTC)

::::But if Bart SImpson is redirected it will be a)More Accurate and b)Also remain the same information. [[User:Kingcjc|Kingcjc]] 21:25, 13 December 2007 (UTC)

:::::one last thing don't we want to give accurate info [[User:Sgtcook|Sgtcook]] 21:23, 13 December 2007 (UTC)

::::::If the full name is in the text, it is accurate info. The questions for article titles is a) what's the primary identity/name used for the character (especially with maiden names, which in many cases aren't counted unless the individual deliberately uses them), b) whether said names are consistent and sourced; what to do if a name is mentioned as a joke once and later a different middle or surname used, or with things like [[Selma Bouvier|Selma Bouvier's]] many surnames, not all of which were explained beyond the one-time joke; the talk page on Bart questions where "Jojo" came from and the only answer was "with creativity", c) what will new users be looking for, and finally d) *any* substantial change to the overall Wiki is worth discussing. Kingcjc seems to agree, so if there's a majority consensus, that's fine. Otherwise, it could cause potential disputes and editing wars and just confusion. -- [[User:Aleal|<font color="Blue">Andrew Leal</font>]] ([[User talk:Aleal|<font color="Blue" size="1">talk</font>]]) 21:29, 13 December 2007 (UTC)
:::::::well thats not wat i meant i agree with sgtcook I know him well and he has good intentions for the redirection, in fact im redirecting pages right now :P [[User:Kingcjc|Kingcjc]] 21:32, 13 December 2007 (UTC)

::::::::That's what I meant. You agree with Sgtcook, or seem to. If everyone else agrees, that's fine. But it's simply wise and generally polite to discuss issues. By the same taken, it would be a problem if I moved [[Little Orphan Millie]] to [[JABF22 Little Orphan Millie]] without discussing (not a strictly analogous situation, but close). I could argue that the production code should be part of the name, is more accurate, makes it easier to find, etc. But if it's done without anybody else knowing, or in some cases, checking to make sure that the stated production code is fully accurate to begin with, it takes people by surprise and can cause annoyance and confusion. Notice I haven't tried to move any of Sgtcook's changes back. I just think this merits *community* wide discussion. -- [[User:Aleal|<font color="Blue">Andrew Leal</font>]] ([[User talk:Aleal|<font color="Blue" size="1">talk</font>]]) 21:36, 13 December 2007 (UTC)

:::::::::Also, redirects are always good and never hurt. But Sgtcook isn't redirecting, he's renaming, so that's a bigger change. Should [[Joe Quimby]] be moved to [[Joseph Fitzpatrick Fitzgerald Fitzhenry "Joe" Quimby]], which to date has only been used on a promotional website? I know I'm just coming into this, so I don't want to seem like I'm leaping on you established people. But I seriously think this is a major change which bears discussion. -- [[User:Aleal|<font color="Blue">Andrew Leal</font>]] ([[User talk:Aleal|<font color="Blue" size="1">talk</font>]]) 21:39, 13 December 2007 (UTC)

:::::::::Well yh so u could make it if u search [[JABF22]] it takes u to [[Little Orphan Millie]] that would be useful and infact i just made quimby go to Mayor Quimby and Sgt Cook saw and we decided not to change it to Joesph Fritzpatrick Fritzgerald Fitzhenry Joe Quimby.[[User:Kingcjc|Kingcjc]] 21:42, 13 December 2007 (UTC)

::::::::::Like I said, redirects are always useful. But making that the main title could be a problem. Again, I don't want to seem like I'm trying to fight with you guys. I just think it's a good idea to have an open, visible discussion with everyone on these issues. For example, the Marge page just mentions that her maiden name is "Bouvier," which is true. But has it ever been used as part of her full name (an issue which, in real life, in general seems to depend on the woman's perogative)? And there could be other similar issues. [[Abraham Simpson]] in the text says Abraham J. Simpson, while a heading on the picture says "Abraham Jasper Simpson." What's the source for Jasper? What happens if the page is moved there and then its found that Jasper was just somebody's guess or vandalism which went unnotices? There's just a lot of related questions which bear discussing, first with the community, and then possibly on a per article basis. -- [[User:Aleal|<font color="Blue">Andrew Leal</font>]] ([[User talk:Aleal|<font color="Blue" size="1">talk</font>]])

I understand where you all are coming from and your arguments, but I think it is better to just keep the common name for a character for example [[Marjorie Bouvier Simpson]] just keep it as [[Marge Simpson]]. Wikisimpons is a place where people can go and read about the simpsons, using the common name will be easier for them to understand. Please if any more problems happen just discuss on my talk page. I'm sorry I couldn’t elaborate more on what I'm saying. I'm currently working on other projects at the moment.
