Angry Dad Flips His Lid is a BSC story that appears in 75.

Synopsis
Angry Dad gets a toupee, loses it in the wind, and gets into a one-sided bar fight when he tries to get it back.

Plot
Angry Dad buys a toupee from Topper's Toupee Shop. He is pleased with how it looks, but as soon as he leaves the shop, a gust of wind blows the toupee right off of his head. He looks around for it, then sees a man with hair that looks similar to the toupee and figures that the man has the toupee. (Even a very slightly closer look at the man's hair, however, reveals that it's a different color from Angry Dad's toupee.)

Angry Dad accosts the man and tugs on his hair, trying to get his toupee back, but without success since it is (of course) the man's real hair. The man is not pleased with having his hair pulled, and he gives Angry Dad a dirty look. Angry Dad then realizes that they're standing in the doorway of Motorcycle Mike's, a biker bar, and that the man he accosted is evidently a regular customer there, as several other customers in the bar are making fists and also giving Angry Dad dirty looks.

The customers of Motorcycle Mike's gang up on Angry Dad, beat him up and kick him out of the bar. Now beaten up and lying in the street, and still toupee-less, Angry Dad laments that his head is cold. Next to him, a raccoon with Angry Dad's toupee on its head laughs at Angry Dad's plight.

Jeffrey "Jeff" Albertson, better known as Comic Book Guy, is the overweight, geeky proprietor of the comic book store, The Android's Dungeon.

Biography
Comic Book Guy is a very obese, socially incompetent, unshaven, cruel man who is perhaps best known for his sarcastic quips. He holds a master's degree in folklore and mythology (he translated The Lord of the Rings into Klingon as part of his thesis). He exhibits geeky behaviour to an extraordinary and deliberately unrealistic degree, and often also makes references to obscure subjects or internet culture. His catchphrase is the declaration,"Worst... (episode)... ever". He states that he is a 45 year-old virgin who lives with his mother. His obesity is referenced in The Simpsons: Hit & Run, where he can be used as a driver. One of his replies is that he might as well pick the player up, since he can't fit into his office chair anymore.

Appropriate to his name, Comic Book Guy is obsessed with comic books, pop culture and science fiction. Comic Book Guy has a bumper sticker that reads "My Other Car Is The Millennium Falcon," given to him by a Harrison Ford lookalike. The license plate on his AMC Gremlin is NCC-1701, the registry number of Star Trek's USS Enterprise. The contents of his display case include, among other oddities, a photo of Sean Connery signed by Roger Moore and a very rare Mary Worth in which she advised a friend to commit suicide. He also owns a T-shirt that says "C:/DOS C:/DOS/RUN RUN/DOS/RUN" (Notice the incorrect usage of the forward slash. DOS directories are listed with a backslash, so it would be "C:\DOS C:\DOS\RUN RUN\DOS\RUN"). He is a member of the Springfield branch of Mensa, along with Principal Skinner, Dr. Hibbert, Lisa Simpson, Professor Frink, and Lindsey Naegle.

Early life
Comic Book Guy lived in his parents basement in the 1980s. He had a dog named Chewbacca (currently deceased). He also went to fat camp.

The Android's Dungeon
Comic Book Guy is the owner of The Android's Dungeon, a local comic book store. Many of the comics and toys he sells are of very poor-quality, and often sell for very high prices. His store is his sanctuary, where he holds some level of self-esteem, imperiously lording over pre-teen kids, like Bart Simpson and Milhouse Van Houten, using a heavily sarcastic tone. When he was the target of mockery while trying to return the Ultimate Belt, he sighed, "I must get back to my comic book store, where I dispense the insults rather than absorb them". His store contains a section full of illegal videos (which include Mr. Rogers drunk, Alien Autopsy, Illegal Alien Autopsy, a top secret American nuclear war strategy session, a "good version" of The Godfather Part III, Kent Brockman picking his nose, and Ned Flanders in a police informant video, wherein he claims that Homer released a radioactive ape in his house [Although, according to Bart, Homer only let the Ape into the house because the Ape tricked Homer, and not out of malicious intent]. He later was arrested and had his store shut down temporarily because of this.). He once had to give up the Ultimate Belt (which he won as a door prize at a Star Trek Convention) because, as he pointed out, "the average Trekker has no use for a medium-sized belt".

Similar stores
In North Haverbrook there is a comic book shop named "Mylar Baggins" and the proprietor looks very similar to Comic Book Guy with the exception that his skin and hair are slightly darker. He also has a deep-rooted rivalry with a store similar to his: "Frodo's of Shelbyville". These shops could have had the same owner, as both rival store names refer to The Lord of the Rings character Frodo Baggins. During the Trappuccino crisis, Comic Book Guy says that his obsessive comic book collecting is a "life well spent".

Brief Fame
In Homer the Whopper, Comic Book Guy created the comic book series Everyman. He apparently created 278 issues, including the controversial issue with the death of Marmaduke. However, he was reluctant to self-publish them initially because he feared that he'd be mocked by the internet community for his comics. While trying to exhasperate Comic Book Guy by feigning complete ignorance on the history of Spiderman, Bart and Milhouse stumbled upon a draft of an issue of Everyman that he was working on. Comic Book Guy then learned that Bart and Milhouse actually liked the comic, and after a bit of convincing, he decided to self-publish. The comic's popularity started to soar as a result, with a movie project starting for the Summer Market. Some movie executives requested to make Everyman into a movie. Comic Book Guy is reluctant to allow them to work with the movie, especially as the same movie industry apparently ruined the Stratego movie for him. He eventually relents, but only under the condition that he picks the person who will portray Everyman. When they refused that condition, he opened the door to the store, implying that he wanted them to leave, until they agreed to that condition, commenting that being a Hollywood Producer is the closest thing to a physical sport that he could ever do. He later explains that he wants a "complete loser" to portray Everyman. He then picks Homer Simpson for the part, after the latter accidentally walked into the store, not realizing it was closed for auditioning. He then spent his time talking to people at his new, hollywood-style house about what it is like to be a producer, and adopting a Cambodian Orphan named Prius. However, when the movie was going overbudget and Homer ended up gaining an eating disorder due to his fitness coach abandoning him for Turtle (to the extent that he couldn't even get out of his trailer without it being sawed off), he tried to end production of the film, but ended up being thrown out by security into a dumpster with disgraced executives. He later ended up sacrificing any chance at another Everyman movie being made by voicing his honest opinion that the Everyman movie was the worst movie ever. It is unknown if he still worked on his comics after this.

Relationships
Comic Book Guy was once married—in an online role-playing game. He and his Internet wife contemplated having children, but that would have severely drained his power crystals. He was shown paired with a blond woman (asking if she enjoyed comic books) during a mass-marriage that occurred when a cult took over Springfield, and presumably the two were wed in the mass ceremony. While part of an intellectual junta that briefly ran Springfield, he proposed plans to limit breeding to once every seven years (a reference to the Vulcan blood fever of mating, called Pon Farr), commenting that this would mean much less breeding for most, but for him, "much, much more". He was a virgin well into his forties when he became romantically involved with Principal Skinner's mother Agnes. (Chief Wiggum was notably repulsed when he and his officers stumbled upon the couple "in the act".) He later dated Edna Krabappel and was shown with the superman logo tattooed on his upper right buttock (which is interesting, as in the Comic Book Guy's Book of Pop Culture, he states that he hates Superman).

The Simpsons Game
Comic Book Guy appears throughout the entire game to point out various videogame cliches that the player can unlock by performing certain actions. He also appears as one of the contestants in the Duff Ultimate Eating Challenge in the level Around the World in 80 Bites, and in the form of a gang of sumo wrestlers in Big Super Happy Fun Fun Game.

Behind the Laughter
Comic Book Guy was partly inspired by a clerk at the Los Angeles Amok book shop who often "[sat] on the high stool, kind of lording over the store with that supercilious attitude and eating behind the counter a big Styrofoam containerful of fried clams with a lot of tartare sauce." Matt Groening noted that: "I can't tell you how many times people have come up to me and said, 'I know who you based that comic book guy on. It's that comic-book guy right down the block.' And I have to tell them, "No, it's every comic-bookstore guy in America."
Hank Azaria based Comic Book Guy's voice on a student who went by the name "F", and lived in the room next door at his college. Azaria also "loves that the character is an adult who argues with kids as if they're his peers."

A long-running gag on the show was never to reveal the character's name, with other characters referring to him as "Comic Book Guy". Finally, in the February 6, 2005 episode, "Homer and Ned's Hail Mary Pass," Comic Book Guy nonchalantly told Ned Flanders, "My name is Jeff Albertson, but everyone calls me 'Comic Book Guy'." Showrunner Al Jean remarked, "That was specifically done to make people really mad. We just tried to pick a generic name. It was also the Super Bowl show, so we did it so the most people possible would see it." Groening stated that he had originally intended him to be called Louis Lane and be "obsessed and tormented by" Lois Lane, but was out of the room when the writers named him.

The comic book guy has also been seen in quite a few episodes but he has had very few episodes where he is a major character. He is rarely seen outside The Android's Dungeon store and most of his interactions are with Bart Simpson. The comic book guy wasn't seen very often early in the series of the show and has not been seen very much in the 19th season.

Trivia
*Comic Book Guy has an IQ of 170.

Merchandising
Even though Comic Book Guy is just a recurring character, he still has some merchandise such as Comic Book Guy's Book of Pop Culture. He also appears on the cover of the twelfth season DVD.

Agnes Skinner is the strict and bitter mother of Seymour Skinner. She is very harshly controlling of Seymour, and treats him like a mother would a small child, once grounding him because he did not say who was at the door after answering it. She hates Seymour's choice in women, especially Edna Krabappel. Agnes has married a total of four times, once with Skinner's father, Sheldon Skinner, and following Sheldon's death she then married three more times, each time, to a tow truck driver. Several Springfield residents (including the Simpsons) are afraid of her.

Biography
In the 1920s, Agnes used to be a wing walker on early planes and performed. Her videos were shown in museums. During the 50s, Agnes was an Pole Vaulter and competed during the 1952 Summer Olympics. However, when she was going over the bar, Seymour kicked in her stomach, knocking the bar off.

Personality
When she first appeared as a kindly old woman who embarrassingly called her son "Spanky". According to the DVD audio commentary it is said that her current mean streak can be attributed to the incident involving Bart that took place in that episode in which, while sitting in a urinal stall, Bart caused the toilets to explode.
Currently, she is harshly controlling of Seymour, who spends more time with her than with his old girlfriend, Edna Krabappel.

Relationship with Seymour
Agnes shares an unhealthy relationship with her son, which often borders on psychosis. Examples include Agnes covering up "her half of the television" with cardboard to spite Seymour. When Seymour was out of the house, Agnes phoned him regularly demanding to be taken out of the bath, shielded from the glare of car lights on the street, and other such petty requests. She hid his car keys as a punishment for his talking to a woman on the phone. Seymour himself is very obedient and almost distressingly physically and emotionally close to her (for example, when Edna agreed to marry Seymour, Agnes murmured under her breath "three in the bed!"). Agnes Skinner's catchphrase is "Seymour!" often used to snap her son's attention (as opposed to Superintendent Chalmers's catchphrase, "Skin-NER!"). She also uses him as a slave for her own bidding as evident from the quote "Why couldn't you have died instead of the Car?".

Some of Agnes' resentment to Seymour may have derived from even before Seymour was born - during the 1952 Summer Olympics in Helsinki, Agnes competed in the pole vaulting event while 9-months pregnant. When Seymour makes his first kick, he hits the bar, thus, making Agnes lose and subsequently crushing her dreams, this is probably why she is so harsh on Seymour.

Family
Husband
Her first husband Sheldon Skinner served in World War Two as a member of the Flying Hellfish. Agnes has also claimed that she was married to three tow truckers.

Love life
Agnes has been seen with Superintendent Chalmers on a few occasions, she also briefly dated the Comic Book Guy, before he was arrested for having a secret room full of illegal videos. He asked her if she would wait for him till he got out of jail but she refuses, saying that her bones are half dust. She once had sex with Otto Mann at the Simpson's mardi gra party. During the depression she let Mr. Burns "feel her up". She hinted that she got "intimate" with Groundskeeper Willie when he was turned into a proper gentleman. She also hit on Sideshow Mel. She also dated Abraham Simpson.

Non-canon
"Real Son"
In "The Principal and the Pauper", Agnes' biological son, the real Seymour Skinner (voiced by Martin Sheen), returns to Springfield from war. Agnes, unhappy with her new living situation with her biological son, travels to Capital City to take back Armin Tamzarian. She and other Springfieldians, who have grown to like Tamzarian, force the real Seymour Skinner out of Springfield, tying him to a freight train cart headed out of the town.

Treehouse of Horror XI
Although with no continuity Agnes is dropped to her death from many stories up in Treehouse of Horror XI when Homer is attempting a good deed.

Future
In the future, Seymour keeps her living head in a jar in his and Edna's home, similar to the heads in a jar shown in Futurama.

In Days of Future Future Skinner is seen having dinner with her skeleton.

History
The Just Crichton and King Bookstore only sells books by Michael Crichton and Stephen King.

Stephen King appeared at a book convention in Springfield. Marge Simpson went up to his table, and, making conversation, asked King what "tale of horror and the macabre" he was working on. King replied that he didn't feel like writing horror at the moment, so he was working on a biography of Benjamin Franklin, where, after discovering electricity, Franklin used it to torture small animals and green mountain men. As King described his biography-in-progress, his voice grew more menacing until he finished by saying, "And that key he tied to a kite? It opened the gates of Hell!" After King was finished, Marge asked King to let her know when he got back to writing horror. His voice went back to normal, and King replied that he would and wrote himself a reminder note to do so.

When the population of Springfield was angry at Bart, Marge asked them what have they ever done. Lenny told her that he has written a best-selling series of mystery novels, The Murderer Did It which Stephen King called "Scary, good fun". Marge then asked if they had an answer besides that, which they didn't.

As revenge Mr. Burns once thought about placing Springfield under a dome based on the Stephen King book Under the Dome.

When the dogs in Springfield were angry at Homer they chased him to his car where he told himself not to panic as this is just like that Stephen King movie, Beethoven, and as long he stays in the car he is safe.

Up and Atom!

Radioactive Man is a comic book superhero who acquired his powers after surviving an atomic bomb explosion. His sidekick is Fallout Boy.

Publication and media history
Radioactive Man made his début in Radioactive Man #1 in 1952 and alongside comic books, he starred in a Radioactive Man sponsored by Laramie Cigarettes. The serials featured Dirk Richter as Radioactive Man and Buddy Hodges as Fallout Boy. Richter was later killed in a bordello.

In the sixties and seventies, a Radioactive Man based on Radioactive Man was shown, notable for being more camp than previous portrayals. It also starred Dirk Richter. One of the villains in this series was The Scoutmaster. A Radioactive Man based on it was released in 1967.

In the 1980s, Troy McClure starred as Radioactive Man in a film trilogy, consisting of:
*Radioactive Man
*Radioactive Man II: Bring On The Sequel
*Radioactive Man III: Oh God, Not Again

Radioactive Man III starred Krusty the Clown as the main villain Krusto the Evil Clown and original Fallout Boy, Buddy Hodges as Fallout Boy's great grandfather.

A Hollywood studio attempted to film a Radioactive Man movie in Springfield. The movie starred Rainier Wolfcastle as Radioactive Man. The role of Fallout Boy was cast from local children. It went to Milhouse Van Houten. Krusty the Clown was cast as villains Dr. Clownius and Silly Sailor. Wolfcastle was incapable of saying the "Up and Atom!" catchphrase correctly, pronouncing it "Up and at zem," on account of his German accent. The movie was never completed due to budget overruns caused by constant price-gouging by Springfield vendors, and Milhouse snapping from the pressure of the role, and refusing to continue to portray Fallout Boy - former child actor Mickey Rooney attempted to take over the role, but the film was shelved.

Fictional history
Although it varies slightly in different comics, when millionaire layabout playboy Claude Kane III was caught up in a nuclear explosion, he gained super powers and became Radioactive Man. The explosion lodged a lightning bolt-shaped piece of metal in his head, which helped him survive.

Radioactive Man first met Fallout Boy in issue #9.

In Radioactive Man #72, he marries one of his enemies, Larva Girl. However, this story is just an imaginary tale.
Radioactive Man died at the hands of The Fossil Fuel Four, but got rebooted in a new issue.

God

God is the Almighty Ruler of the Universe.

History
He once attempted to flood Springfield, but stopped when Reverend Lovejoy showed the Springfieldians that God was the path to good, and also once chose to end the world. This time, He was stopped by Homer Simpson, who requested Him to turn back time and leave the apocalypse off for a few years. God has two aides, Colonel Sanders and Buddha, although he is seen with Jesus in Heaven. In an interesting side note, SpongeBob once appeared in Heaven alongside Buddha and Jesus. In one episode when asked if they should help someone, SpongeBob replied with a wave of the hand and said "screw 'em". God's voice appeared when Homer and Barney decide to join forces and Homer says "Not even God can stop us now!" After this God replies, "Oh No?" and dries up all the snow. It is also implied once that God has a tendency to cause train wrecks.

When Steve Mobbs went to Heaven, he became God's boss and refused to give him Christmas, his son's birthday, off.

The Simpsons Game
God serves as the final boss to The Simpsons. He uses previous enemies encountered as icons in a "Guitar Hero"/"Dance Dance Revolution" match, while the chosen song ("Rock you Like a Hurricane", by the Scorpions) plays. As the whole family, you have to make them hit the notes in a correct time to break the game stations and defeat the minions he sends.
They will change when the station is broken. Each station is a parody of a popular videogame console (i.e. Praystation is a parody of PlayStation and the I Am is a parody of the Wii).

Simpsons Bible Stories
God is also portrayed by Ned Flanders' hand.

Thank God It's Doomsday
Homer met God to say a word about family, but even Heaven is top notch destination, although Homer can't enjoy being in Heaven knowing that his family is suffering. On God's desk there are three pictures, God with Marilyn Monryo and Lincoln. God said He understands about family suffering because His son lived on Earth once, but He doesn't know what happened and he hasn't been the same since.

Because Homer riots all the time he is in Heaven, God consults Homer about the problem. Homer asks God to undo the rapture and await another time. God then agrees, but Homer ask God to do something else when He's undone the Apocalypse, where he must be shown as the Last Supper.

Trivia
*In most of God's appearances in the various Simpsons media, his face is covered up (presumably deliberately). There were, however, two instances where his face was fully seen; in the opening of "Treehouse of Horror XVI", and in the frame Ned Flanders turns round in "Alone Again, Natura-Diddily".
*God has 5 fingers whereas other characters have 4.

Flanders the Devil (also referred to as "The Devil Flanders") is the Devil in the form of Ned Flanders.

History
Homer found that he was out of donuts at work, and even his emergency donut was gone (Homer had already eaten it). Anguished, Homer lamented that he would sell his soul for a donut. As soon as the words were out of Homer's mouth, the Devil appeared in the guise of Ned Flanders. After confirming that Homer really did want to sell his soul for a donut, the Devil produced a contract and a flaming pen. Homer signed, and the Devil gave him the donut (straight from Hell's Kitchen, according to the lettering on the apron of the demon who served it).

Homer devoured most of the donut in seconds, but in a rare moment of clarity, he realized that the Devil would not be able to claim his soul if he didn't finish the donut. Homer started dancing around and mockingly singing "I'm smarter than the Devil!" The Devil transformed from his Flanders guise into a more demonic appearance and roared at Homer, "You are NOT smarter than me! I'll see you in Hell yet!" Then he returned to Hell.

Homer saved the last bite of the donut and put it in the refrigerator, labeling it "Daddy's Soul Donut. Don't eat!" Unfortunately, in the middle of the night, Homer wandered half-asleep to the fridge, found himself unable to resist the "forbidden donut", and ate it. The Devil Flanders immediately reappeared to take possession of Homer's soul. Marge and Lisa pleaded with the Devil and persuaded him to hold a trial the next night, in spite of his complaints about how difficult they were being: "You Americans with your 'due process' and 'fair trials.' This is always so much easier in Mexico." In the meantime, Homer was to spend the next day in Hell, until the trial.

Homer's punishments during his day in Hell were being chopped into tiny pieces on a conveyor belt, and then being force-fed donuts in the Ironic Punishment Division of Hell Labs. The latter wasn't much of a punishment for Homer—he happily ate thousands of donuts and begged for more, much to the confusion of the demon administering the punishment. At the stroke of midnight, the Devil Flanders brought Homer back to the Simpson home for trial. Unfortunately, Marge had retained Lionel Hutz to defend Homer. Inept as usual, Hutz committed the blunder of allowing the Devil to hand-pick the "Jury of the Damned" in exchange for bathroom breaks.

The Devil Flanders, opening the trial, stated to the jury that he and Homer had a contract—Homer's soul in exchange for a donut "which I delivered! And it was scrump-diddily-umptious!" Hutz, for his part, blundered again, reminding the jury that by definition a contract was unbreakable. When Hutz realized he had no chance to win, he called a bathroom break and ran off by sneaking out the bathroom window.

The judge (the Grim Reaper) was about to deliver a verdict, but in a last-ditch effort, Marge produced a wedding day photo where Homer had written on the back that he pledged his soul to Marge. The jury then ruled that Homer's soul was the property of Marge Simpson and not the Devil, and the judge dismissed the case. Furious, the Devil Flanders conceded the loss, but bestowed a curse on Homer: "Let that ill-gotten donut be forever on your head!"

The next morning at breakfast, Homer had a giant donut for a head. Marge scolded him for picking at it, and Homer was afraid to leave for work because Springfield Police officers with cups of coffee were waiting expectantly for him to come out of the house.

The kids of Springfield went on a vandalism spree and Flanders fashioned the church into a "Heck House" to teach them a lesson. When Ned asked God for the power to scare the kids straight, he was temporarily transformed into the Devil.

Behind the Laughter
*When the Devil Flanders gets angry at Homer at the nuclear power plant, the form he assumes is exactly like the demon Chernabog in "Night on Bald Mountain" from Fantasia (film).
*Homer's ironic punishment of being force-fed donuts is a parody of the Merrie Melodies cartoon Pigs Is Pigs (1937 film).
*Unsurprisingly, Mr. Burns seems to have an affinity for the Devil: "Who's that goat-legged fellow? I like the cut of his jib." Smithers replies, "Prince of Darkness, sir. He's your eleven o'clock."
*When the Devil Flanders first appears in the Simpson house, he and Bart exchange casual greetings: "Hey, Bart." "Hey."
*The Devil's hand-picked "Jury of the Damned" consists of Benedict Arnold, Lizzie Borden, Richard Nixon, John Wilkes Booth, Blackbeard the Pirate, John Dillinger, and the starting line-up of the 1976 Philadelphia Flyers. When the jurors appear in the Simpson living room, the Flyers are the only ones who frighten the Simpsons.
*Richard Nixon was still alive when "Treehouse of Horror IV" first aired. When he's summoned to be in the jury, he protests that he's not dead yet, but agrees to serve after the Devil Flanders reminds him that he owes the Devil a favor.
*Ned is an old English term for devil.

Donuts are a circular pastry usually containing large amounts of fat. They are most notably Homer Simpson's favourite food. He can not live without them and doesn't like anyone else eating any of his donuts.

History
In "Treehouse of Horror V", Homer changes the past and comes back to an alternate universe where his family is rich and happy, but when Marge does not know what a donut is, Homer goes back to the toaster to travel back through time again. However, when Homer leaves, it starts raining donuts. (Homer often panics when they are out of donuts.) In another Treehouse of Horror episode, Homer sells his soul for one. Marge wins the court case and Homer keeps his soul but his head is turned into a donut by Ned Flanders.

Fat Tony died of a heart attack after Homer betrayed him while working undercover for the FBI.

Biography
An Italian-American mobster in his early forties, "Fat Tony" is the head of the D'Amico Crime Family, the prime family in the Springfield Mafia. His fellow mobsters include Joey, Legs and Louie, and occasionally Johnny Tightlips. Tony's schemes have ranged from supplying rat's milk to the school cafeteria to dabbling in the illegal fireworks racket. His gang also attempts to monopolize various legitimate business. Fat Tony is also a very competent violinist. Fat Tony lives in his mansion, which strongly resembles that of Tony Montana from the movie Scarface, in the upscale residential area of "Springfield Heights", which is also resided by the Jewish entertainer Krusty The Clown and actor Troy McClure. D'Amico has owned several cars such as a black Lincoln Navigator, white Dodge Caravan and an Isotta Fraschini Tipo 8B.

"Business" dealings
Fat Tony has been behind most, if not all of, Springfield's criminal enterprises. He and his associates meet in what is known as the "Legitimate Businessmen's Social Club." Tony's rackets include the usual organized crime activities such as illegal gambling, cigarette trafficking, and rum running, but he will sometimes branch out into more unusual activities.

Homer once entered a deal with the Springfield Mafia to help Marge's pretzel franchise by driving out rival snack food distributors. Fat Tony demanded 100% of the profits from the business in exchange, only to be stopped by the local Yakuza (brought in by Marge's rivals). The two gangs then started a mob war (which continued off-screen), with Fat Tony and his gangsters displaying very impressive fighting skills, rather than just pulling out their guns as usual. Krusty the Clown pays the Mafia to keep McDonald's and Burger King out of Springfield, so that Krusty Burger can have a monopoly.

He made a product called Squeaky Farms Brand Genuine Animal Milk.

Much of Springfield's municipal government is involved with the Mafia. Chief Wiggum has been seen taking bribes from Fat Tony (although at the same time Chief Wiggum also tries to hunt him down even going as far as to compare Tony as being a cancer to Springfield, and tries to compare himself to the cure for cancer), and Mayor Quimby is more often than not in on the bribing procedures. Once, Fat Tony bribed Mayor Quimby to allow him to deliver counterfeit milk to the schools, and left Quimby under the impression that he intended to use dog's milk or higher. After his bodyguard, Homer Simpson, stumbled upon the milking facility and blurted out that they're actually milking rats, Quimby was outraged. In retaliation for a raid on their rat milk facility, Fat Tony attempted to take out a hit on Mayor Quimby. Tony once put out a contract on Homer after his private security business interfered with the mob's interests. Homer would have been executed gangland-style if not for Maggie coming to the rescue with her rifle. Marge usually has a more peaceful relationship with Fat Tony, even driving his son Michael home from school. She mentions that the Mafia frequently congregates outside her house, and that she often brings them lemonade.

Family
Fat Tony is a widower; he had a wife who was "whacked by natural causes." Tony has a son named Michael, whom he planned to have follow in his footsteps as the leader of the Springfield Mob.

Death
After he found out that his new "family member" Nicky was a spy, he suffered a heart attack and died. His cousin Fit Tony, who later became known as Fat Tony, took over from him.

Behind the Laughter
Originally, Tony was going to be voiced by Hank Azaria. However, since Fat Tony wasn't a very good drawing, Matt Groening decided to make a Special Guest Voice do him. Groening chose Joe Mantegna. In one DVD commentary it is stated that Mr. Mantegna is so enamored with the character that he has forbidden to allow anyone else to voice Fat Tony; he even voiced him when the script only called for a couple of grunts ("Sex, Pies and Idiot Scrapes"). However, this didn't stop Phil Hartman filling in for him on one occasion ("A Fish Called Selma").

Inspiration
Fat Tony is a pastiche of Mafia characters from movies and dramas, especially The Godfather franchise (and in later seasons The Sopranos). His nickname may be a reference to "Black Tony", the Don of the fictional Stracci family in The Godfather. After 1999 Fat Tony is clearly based on Tony Sopranos of The Sopranos. In several episodes the Sopranos intro theme ('Woke Up This Morning' by Alabama 3) is played in scenes with Fat Tony. Another viable possibility of inspiration is Anthony "Fat Tony" Salerno, a New York mobster who passed away in a Springfield, Missouri hospital.

"Moe Baby Blues" featured several interesting references relating to Fat Tony. To entertain his subordinates, Fat Tony puts an orange slice in his mouth in imitation of Vito Corleone from The Godfather. Minutes later, Fat Tony responds to an emotional scene by saying "I haven't cried this much since I paid to see Godfather III" (in which Mantegna played the character Joey Zasa, one of the inspirations for Fat Tony). His son's name is a reference to Michael Corleone.

On several occasions Fat Tony's has said something that begins as ominous gang language, only to be proven innocent; one example is "We are going for a ride... By which I mean the carpool" and "Now who's ready to sleep with da fishes?... Because I brought this Finding Nemo comforter!" This also led to some confusion among his fellow mafia members, such as the time when Troy McClure was involved in a scandal involving a sexual attraction to fishes, and he told his fellow gang members that he was "sleeping with the fishes", causing them to misinterpret the meaning to Troy having died when he was actually meaning that McClure was literally sleeping with the fishes. His house also strongly resembles that of Tony Montana in the movie Scarface.

Fat Tony also bears similiarities to notorious mobster Al Capone.

Trivia
Fat Tony being a competent violinist is a reference to the Thompson sub-machine gun (Tommy) which was the mafia's weapon of choice and was nicknamed the "Chicago Violin".

Non-canon
Noncanon
*In The Simpsons: Tapped Out, donuts are used to speed up time and build things quicker.
*In "The Simpsons Guy", the Griffin family are impressed upon noticing the donuts at the Kwik-E-Mart (while Stewie is surprised that his family doesn't know what donuts are). Despite the misfortune of their car missing, Apu refuses to give them any. In response, Homer purchases them a box, while taking some for himself.

Trivia
*You can buy Simpsons Donuts in many stores, including Donut King.
