Season 25 is the current season of The Simpsons that is set to air from September 29, 2013 to May 18, 2014. Shortly before the season's second episode, the show was renewed for a twenty-sixth season.. The first table read for the season was on March 7, 2013. This season premiered on September 29, 2013 with the episode "Homerland" and will finish on May 18, 2014

No new episodes from this season aired during February 2014 due to the transmission of the Super Bowl XLVIII, The 2014 Winter Olympic Games in Sochi, Russia, the 2014 Daytona 500 in Florida and the 86th Academy Awards. But the show returned on March 9, 2014.

But Bart isn’t dead and gone. Instead his head is attached to Lisa’s body and the two siblings “must live together as one.” “Freaks no Geeks” The circus is coming to town in this “Treehouse of Horror XXIV” story. Set in Springfieldland in the 1930s, the Burnsum and Bailey Circus (Mr. Burns’ traveling circus) has stopped into town. Starring trapeze artist Marge and Strong Man Homer, the circus is anything but a joyous event when “circus freak Moe starts to make advances towards Marge.” 533 - 3 "Four Regrettings and a Funeral" November 3, 2013 Mark Kirkland Marc Wilmore RABF18 Four Springfielders are prompted to try to right past regrets following the funeral of a beloved neighbor. Homer regrets selling his Apple stock to buy a bowling ball, Marge worries she caused Bart’s rebellious streak, Mr. Burns reminisces about a romance he gave up with a beautiful Parisian woman and Kent Brockman admits he was too afraid to leave local news and follow his former partner Rachel Maddow (guest appearing as herself) to cable news. In a moment of truth during Brockman’s meeting at the Fox News, Aaron Sorkin appears in a thought bubble above Brockman’s head and advises the anchor on whether or not he should work for the cable channel. Lisa and Isabel become fast best friends but things take a left turn when they realize they have different political views - Isabel is a republican. They end up running against each other in the second-grade election, and then we flash to the future where they’re engaged in an actual presidential debate — and Anderson Cooper is the moderator. Guest starring Eva Longoria as Isabel Gutierrez and Anderson Cooper as himself 537 - 7 "Yellow Subterfuge" December 8, 2013 Bob Anderson Joel H. Cohen SABF04 Principal Skinner promises the students that the best-behaved among them can take a ride in a submarine. When Skinner gives all the kids a clean slate, Bart believes even his own past indiscretions will be forgotten if he doesn't get into any more trouble. Meanwhile Lisa tries to help a cash-poor Krusty to turn things around by suggesting he sell the foreign rights to his shows. 538 - 8 "White Christmas Blues" December 15, 2013 Steven Dean Moore Don Payne SABF01 A radiation leak at the nuclear power plant causes a strange phenomenon that makes Springfield the only place with snow for the holidays. When tourists drive up Christmas shopping prices in Springfield, Marge decides to open up the Simpsons’ house to boarders. 539 - 9 "Steal This Episode" January 5, 2014 Matthew Nastuk J. Stewart Burns SABF05 Deputy Director Gratman, the FBI's anti-piracy boss, is tasked with hunting down Homer, who stands accused of illegally downloading a movie. Fed up with movie theaters, Homer is taught by Bart how to illegally download films, and he starts screening them in his backyard for folks in Springfield. One of the movies that Homer shows is a This is 40-esque Apatow dramedy titled Life is Funny that stars Mann and Rudd. Halford winds up singing a parody of the Judas Priest classic "Breaking The Law" in an effort to nab Homer, while Apatow testifies against our patriarch "with a hilarious, self-important speech about Hollywood people". Guest starring Will Arnett as Deputy Director Gratman, Judd Apatow, Leslie Mann, Paul Rudd, Seth Rogen, Channing Tatum and Rob Halford as himself. 540 - 10 "Married to the Blob" January 12, 2014 Chris Clements Tim Long SABF03 Homer stands to ruin a blossoming relationship between Comic Book Guy and an attractive young Japanese woman/manga fan and he getting married. Stan Lee swings by Comic Book Guy’s store and doles out some advice on comics, romance, and, yes, romance comics. Guest starring: Stan Lee as himself and Harlan Ellison as himself 541 - 11 "Specs and the City" January 26, 2014 Lance Kramer Brian Kelley SABF06 Mr. Burns gives high-tech eyeglasses to all of his employees in order to spy on them. Homer loves the enhanced reality of his new gadget - that is, until Marge tries them on and he finds out she's seeing a marriage counselor. Meanwhile, Bart takes a stand against buying Nelson a Valentine's Day card, despite buying one for every other kid in class, and Nelson delivers him an ultimatum: find him the best Valentine's Day gift ever or be fed to the classroom electric pencil sharpener. Suddenly Marge is worried that Lisa is trying to marry a boy that’s just like Homer, and then Homer is offended that Marge is worried about that. Lisa is married to a zombie version of Milhouse, while Bart deals with custody issues with his ex-wife, Jenda. Each defines what love means to them.Jenda is dating a crab-like alien creature and … she’s still not getting along with Bart. Bart is trying to get over his divorce and he does it in a bit of a Total Recall-type way. Guest starring Amy Poehler as Jenda 549 - 19 "What to Expect When Bart's Expecting" April 27, 2014 John Frink SABF14 Bart can't stand art class. So he makes a voodoo doll of his art teacher. But when his spell makes her pregnant instead, he becomes a savior to Springfield couples trying to conceive. Then, he's kidnapped to help conceive a thoroughbred race horse. 550 - 20 "Brick Like Me" May 4, 2014 Brian Kelly RABF21 Homer wakes up in a world where his family and everyone in Springfield are made of Legos and must "put together" how he got there to get home. "The Man Who Came To Be Dinner" David Silverman Al Jean (co-writer) RABF15 The Simpsons go to an amusement park where the lines for the rides are terrible, except for this one rocket called Journey to Your Future. They end up on Kang and Kodos home planet Rigel VII. "Pay Pal" David H. Steinberg SABF15 May 2014 John Oliver guest stars as Wilkes John Booth, a neighbor Marge has never met. Guest starring John Oliver as Wilkes John Booth "Simpsorama" J. Stewart Burns SABF16 A crossover with Futurama, the Planet Express team comes to Springfield. Hypnotoad will also make an appearance. The plot will revolve around Bender and Bart, Bender has to come back from the future to kill Bart because there’s something that Bart does now that makes the future really, really, really bad. The recording starts at September 19, 2013. It will be the Season 25 finale or the Season 26 premiere. Some scenes will be based in the comic Futurama/Simpsons Infinitely Secret Crossover Crisis. Notes

• Judd Apatow, writer/director of Knocked Up, Superbad and The 40-Year-Old Virgin, will be writing an episode of The Simpsons in season 25 where Homer is hypnotized to think he's ten years old and becomes friends with Bart.
• Don Payne, who passed away on March 25th 2013, will have two episodes that will air posthumously in the 25th season, "White Christmas Blues" and "Labor Pains"
• Anderson Cooper recorded his line at May 13, 2013.
• There will be a "very musical" episode that will be the second musical episode after "All Singing, All Dancing" from Season 9.
