This article is about the real-world TV series. For other uses, see Futurama (disambiguation).

Futurama is an animated science-fiction comedy show, that was also created by Matt Groening. Numerous references have been made to the show throughout the run of The Simpsons as well as Futurama making references to The Simpsons. Many people have compared the Futurama main and minor characters with The Simpsons main and secondary characters such as Bender Rodríguez is Futurama's Homer Simpson, Cubert Farnsworth is Futurama's Bart Simpson or Dwight Conrad is Futurama's Milhouse Van Houten.

A running joke is that on The Simpsons, Futurama is a fictional cartoon show. On Futurama, however, it is The Simpsons that is a fictional cartoon show.

A crossover episode between Futurama and The Simpsons has been hinted for the upcoming episode entitled "Simpsorama", that will air on Fall 2014 as the Season 26 season premiere.[1]
